Hi all can I join?
I restarted slimming world yesterday for the millionth time
So far today I've had 2 weetabix with yogurt, a banana and satsuma and an apple.
Just had a skinny whip chocolate bar 4.5 syns
Lunch will be salad, not sure about tea yet but the kids are begging to go to McDonald's 😳 shouldn't be a problem as I'm not a big fan of McDonald's anyway.
I'm 11st 2 and would ideally like to get to around 9st 7

JingleAndTonic · 10/06/2020 13:18

i must be missing a trick with these brownies, will have to get baking!

L - leftover spicy tomato pasta from last night with cheese (HEA) and chorizo (1.5 syns)

T - bbq chicken pizza wrap (HEA and HEB, 1 syn for bbq sauce) with chips

S - pear and strawberries with some choc shot (1/2 syn)

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/06/2020 14:27

Well done @troppibambini !!!!

I think the odd week when you binge your body kick starts its self

Tho staying that I binged on what would have been wedding bday and gained 4lbs

Still working that off !!!

@mummyof4kids welcome. We are a friendly

mummyof4kids · 10/06/2020 17:24

Thanks for the welcome Smile
I had ham salad for lunch and currently making sw lasagne for tea.
DP has been shopping on his way home from work and bought me a bottle of wine 😳
Sooo hard to resist not drinking it tonight 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/06/2020 19:24

You have 4?kids. Drink wine 😂😂

When’s you wi

A small glass can be had

How do you make the white cheese sauce on lasagne

I can’t find something that tastes nice yet. Not Syn free

OP posts:
mummyof4kids · 10/06/2020 20:02

Wi is on Sunday
The problem with one glass is it turns into 3 😂😂
I can never make a sauce I like so I cheat and use a jar of white sauce. It's not like I eat a full lasagne to myself so there'll only be a few syns
The wine is still in the fridge...for now lol

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/06/2020 22:23

That’s what I do or a cheese sauce mix

I tried the Iceland one. Was rank !!!

OP posts:
beadyboo · 10/06/2020 23:25

L: chicken salad with Parmesan (HEXA)

D: Cajun chicken breast in wholemeal roll (HEXB) with sweet potato wedges and salad. (5 syns mayo). Hartley 10 cal jelly (1/2 syn)

S: plum, pear, hifi (3 syns)

Total syns 8 1/2

If I make lasagne I just use fat free Greek yogurt for the white sauce with some mustard powder and nutmeg beaten in. It’s nowhere near as good as a roux, but it’s acceptable if you put enough cheese on top!

mummyof4kids · 11/06/2020 07:05

Morning
Well the wine stayed in the fridge 😊 quite pleased with myself as lately it's been every night I've had some wine. Today is 3 days since I've had any and I'm sleeping loads better already.
I'm determined to get a good loss this week so need to abstain.
Currently laid in bed watching tv with DD who's 4 but will be having boiled eggs and toast for breakfast this morning

JingleAndTonic · 11/06/2020 08:42

Morning! I agree the SW lasagne is no good with that horrible omelettey mixture involved! The Dolmio light jar is meant to be low syn, I think 3 for a quarter. Have also recently seen someone use a Morrisons can of macaroni cheese and blended it to make a cheese sauce, not really sure about that one tbh but they raved about it! Think that one worked out 1.5 syns for quarter of the lasagne.

L - butternut squash soup (1 syn for coconut milk) and a cheese roll (HEA, HEB and 1/2 syn for mayo)

T - cuban picadillo with black bean pilaf (basically a tangy chilli with the beans in the rice Grin) maybe a bit of greek yog

S - strawberries and choc shot (1/2 syn) and some other fruit

I caved yesterday and had a chocolate digestive, just the one, but need to really behave myself today as tomorrow is weigh-in and would like to have lost the 1.5lbs I gained last week Sad

supersalmon1 · 11/06/2020 09:44

I love lasagne but might have to just give it a swerve at the moment. I think there's a Jamie Oliver recipe that has a cheat white sauce which uses creme fraiche (you could use fat free for fewer syns), anchovies and parmesan. If I get desperate I might give it a go.

Today will be - breakfast - boiled eggs and turkey bacon rashers, snack - Alpen Light bars, lunch - probably a roasted vegetable and lentil salad, dinner will a seafood platter... including 24 oysters! Not everyone's cup of tea but my total treat food!

troppibambini · 11/06/2020 09:44

On a sw thread I used to be on there was a poster called calzone who used to make a white sauce involving cauliflower I don't like white sauce so I never tried it but lots did and raved about it... if anyone can be bothered searching for it. I haven't seen her on here for a while but she may just have name changed.

Wobbly day yesterday I lost 2 so I will reward myself with chocolate which is ridiculous but it's done now!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 10:44

I’ve searched. Found easily

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 13:20

I’m not a huge lover of cauliflower ......

OP posts:
JingleAndTonic · 11/06/2020 13:35

haha I've been stalking these threads way too long, I remember that post! thought about trying it but had a disaster with cauliflower pizza and put myself off.

have been feeling rough for the last few hours so have skipped lunch, just not hungry in the slightes, hopefully my appetite comes back for tea Confused

mummyof4kids · 11/06/2020 16:20

I had boiled eggs and toast for breakfast but it was a late breakfast so skipped lunch.
Tea is the Aldi 5% Bbq beef kebabs with slimming world chips and salad 😋
No syns so far today so will have a couple of skinny whip chocolate bars tonight

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 16:28

Well done on 2lb loss @troppibambini I missed that

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 16:30

I like the skinny mint bars. That’s what I usually have. Or the Aldi Benifit salted caramel

Hope you feel better @JingleAndTonic

OP posts:
JingleAndTonic · 11/06/2020 16:35

thank you @Blondeshavemorefun i'm feeling much better now so have had an apple and a pear, not sure what happened just took a funny turn and just felt rotten!

i love the skinny whip bars but we don't have anywhere nearby that i could pop to to get my hands on the mint ones 💔 i'm also a fan of the skinny crunch bars and fibre one brownies, though they feel quite small for the amount of syns spend get IMO

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2020 21:51

I found them in my local home bargains

OP posts:
beadyboo · 11/06/2020 22:57

I’m down to my last hifi bar Shock Can you suggest chocolatey low syn alternatives? I don’t like nuts or mint flavoured things.

Today’s menu has been
B: pear, apple, banana

L: jacket potato with beans, cheese (HEXA) and salad

D: roasted veg and Aldi 5% fat meatballs with pasta, salad and a generous sprinkle of cheese (HEXA)(1/2 syn)

S: pear and hifi (3 syns)

JingleAndTonic · 12/06/2020 07:24

i like the skinny crunch bars they're very similar to the hi-fi bars and you get two for HEB, also the fibre one 90 bars are good, i think some of those are HEB too 😁

weigh day for me and i lost 3.5lbs! pretty certain that's related to the fact i didn't have much to eat yesterday but still chuffed, that's the 1.5lbs gain plus an extra 2.

L - spicy tomato pasta with cheese and a WW wrap made into garlic bread (HEB and HEA)

T - iceland crispy chicken dippers (think i'll do 8 for 8 syns), SW chips and mayflower southern gravy

S - plenty fruit to get through

going to have tomorrow as a treat day, i've been having them friday saturday sunday the past few weekends and need to get out of that habit!

supersalmon1 · 12/06/2020 07:43

That's a great loss Jingle! Well done.
Well today I need to try and stay away from the chocolate cupboard. 8 month old DD decided to have a party from 3am - 5am (and roped me in for company) so I need to resist the urge. Tiredness often means a chocolate binge for me but I'm determined today (famous last words).
