Thank you I will .prob join up when kids are back at school

Groovee · 23/08/2018 07:01

Going to a class and having it explained can really help. I'm 20 months in and maintains my target weight. It does take preparation but once you get in the swing of it it becomes your normality.

Wow well done FlowersI've decided yo join on 11th Sept I've found a group 10 min walk away .is it still 10 to join and 5 per week ?I need to go because I'm not that good at dieting less there's a special event lol .Just dreading getting on the scales for the first time xx

sunshineNdaisies · 23/08/2018 07:50

I have a work lunch on friday (we are going to a burger restaurant) and my DH birthday on saturday (we are going to a chinese)

How the heck will I manage to stay on plan, especially when the syn values are not available online?

What should I eat without feeling miserable? (I prefer chicken dishes in the chinese. I don't like fish and not a fan of black bean sauce)

Notreadyforkidstogrowupyet · 23/08/2018 08:13

Not sure how syns work .can you save them up for such occasions ?it's a special weekend for you if treat yourself then work extra hard days up to your weigh in .that and you could work it off with your dh Winkthey say it's better exercise than the gym

YerAuntFanny · 23/08/2018 08:13

Morning all, I'm on the mend so back to it today!

Missed weigh in last night and will cut my losses as I know I've put on again and the backup group I went to is awful when you gain.. aim to maintain last week's weight when I go next week (does that even make sense?!)

Anyway, food today is:
Porridge (B) and strawberries
Flat peach
Leek & potato soup
Cereal bar (3) & tea (A)
Sweet chilli noodles (3), tuna steak and stir fry veg
Options (1.5)

YerAuntFanny · 23/08/2018 08:17

Sunshine, I would cut my losses and make the best choice at the burger place and get the best (of the bad options). Not official guidelines in the slightest but don't have A or B choice beforehand and go syn free for the day otherwise.

I'm a bit boring with Chinese and tend to get either oyster chicken or chicken and mushroom curry with boiled rice or noodles which both come in under 10 syns.

raisedbyguineapigs · 23/08/2018 08:17

notreadythere's a few joining voucher in Woman magazine I think. Might be worth a look.
I get a bun less burger in gourmet burger kitchenand it comes with a really nice salad. Other places must offer the same.

Notreadyforkidstogrowupyet · 23/08/2018 08:24

Thanks raised I'll look out for it when I food shop tomorrow.kiddies out with my mum today so I'll get the music on and do a workout Smile

Hi all,

Anyone know the syns in this?

Ive fallen off the wagon an bit these last few days... birthday, swiftly followed by my period. I'm tired, feel like I weigh a tonne. I'm so tired and lethargic. I've reigned it in a bit today.

2 x 400g with avocado. I know avocado is high in syns but just felt like it.

Skyr yogurt - 1.5 syns.
Satsuma and a few grapes.
I cup of tea, half a sugar. 0.5 syns.

I was going to have the curry with a bit of pilau and some mango chutney.

I need to get better with planning around my period. I'm not even a chocolate lover but will quite happily face plant a box of Lindt at this time of the month.

Xx

Avocado is 9.5 syns per 100g a good savvy syn choice for a target member.

1 level tablespoon of mango chutney is about 1.5 to 2 syns.

@sunshineNdaisies I would just have what you want for those meals and be 100% with the rest of your meals and snacks x

coralush · 23/08/2018 18:32

Thanks @Groovee - yikes so many syns in avocado! 🥑

Groovee · 25/08/2018 20:56

Made Korean Pork Rice Bowls tonight. Substituted wholewheat cous cous for rice. But very tasty.

somehow managed to lose 2lbs this week despite two meals out and struggling with motivation!

Need some lunch ideas for work if anyone has any? Not a pasta or salad fan, I prefer hot meals but can't always get to a microwave.

Cherrypi · 26/08/2018 12:26

Lunch work ideas. Homemade quiche, hard boiled eggs, swap breakfast and lunch round.

Went off plan on holiday and ate loads of things I haven’t had for ages - white bread and honey, Cornish pasties, chocolate. Came home feeling awful - ulcers and spots. Back on it straight away my body was craving veg. Hope to get to target this autumn.

Groovee · 26/08/2018 12:50

My lunches at work are soups and salads or leftover from the night before. I do egg muffins or crustless quiche. Cous cous salad may be an idea.

At home it's whatever I fancy.

Used 3 sesame ryvita. A wee Philadelphia light that's 35g, topped with turkey rashers and tomatoes was so yummy. Apple and satsuma too.

@Groovee wow you look absolutely amazing! That doesn't look like the same person at all. X

SlimmingMumOf1 · 26/08/2018 21:46

I've been on plan today! So pleased and feel really good.

For breakfast I had a chopped banana with a dollop of skyr mixed with honey (1.5), lunch was 2 melt in the middle fishcakes (4), with mixed American style salad which is full of speed food, and an apple and strawberries. Afternoon snack was Mackerel on toast with cheese... by this point I realised I've had way too much fish for today Halo Dinner was leftover chicken casserole (2), broccoli, carrots, peas and baby potatoes.

Groovee · 27/08/2018 07:42

Thanks @SlimmingMumOf1 a few people who didn't know me before are amazed.

Lol at too much fish. I do that without thinking at times.

Hi all, deciding to start slimming world again, but not able to get to a class so trying to give it my all from home. Really want to give it 100% this time. I like mumsnet, seems to be very supportive and might be the extra support I need to stick to it this time. What day do you usually do yer weigh ins??
Going shopping this morning also- what are musts that I have to add to my trolley?

Groovee · 27/08/2018 12:48

When I was trying myself I used to go to boots on a Wednesday at 9. Now I weigh in on a Tuesday at 5.30pm.

My must haves are free yoghurts/quark/fruit and veg to snack on.
