Hope your DD is better soon Owl.

Guineapig, medicinal crumble is a must. Hope you’re ok.

Good day again yesterday. DC back at school today, I’m back at work, normal services have resumed. Hoping to be able to stick rigidly to plan without anyone bringing cake and biscuits into the staff room. A colleague died over the holidays so the atmosphere will be a bit somber I imagine.

Hi, sometimes a little of what you fancy is a good thing. Other wise you end up having a blow out and thinking sod it all.
My consultant was talking about this yesterday. She said one blow out day doesn't break a diet, she said if you do it
everyday, then yes your not going to lose weight. She said you have to live and enjoy yourself, celebrate special occasions, but plan a good week around that so that it helps balance it out. She told us the diet should fit in with out lives, not the other way round!!

@owl, hope you're is getting better

@guineapig, ouch! But hope you're feeling a little less sore.

Just been to group and I’ve lost 4lb. Really pleased with that, especially as I had a bit of a boozy night on Saturday.

Quietly aiming for 3lb next week though maybe 2 is more feasible?

@Testarossa1 - your consultant sounds brilliant.
4 pounds is amazing @Tobermory - I really hope I can pull that off this first week. Doubtful though as I just ate a homemade bakewell muffin. Shit.

Didn't make it to group tonight, too much going on. Baby is doing ok now, breathing seems to be back to normal. Thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Well done on 4lb loss, that's great tobermory.

I agree with others about living your life. I aim to stick to plan most days, but if I'm going on holiday or a big night out I'll just go with it. I find slimming world is satisfying enough generally that I don't feel the need to binge when I do have a day off, so my weight is more stable than it was. We need to enjoy ourselves as well as look after ourselves!

Alemonypea just noticed you are back!! welcome!
A colleague is doing ww and says she's starving Confused The only good thing seems to be the phone zapper thingy when you go shopping.Grin

I'm really struggling at the moment, can't get my mind onto it. I'm putting on and losing the same 2lb every other week.
It's a year since my wonderful dad died and It's hit me for six again. I will get there tho!!
testa you look amazing in those photosStar

Ive put on 1/2lb. Im gutted. its the last week of my countdown and over the 12 weeks I have hardly lost anything when you take into account the gain over the summer Sad. Im really thinking of giving up. I have been asked to do a trial of the Diabetes UK low Carb programme as I'm some sort of medical marvel because I'm overweight yet I'm the only person in my family ( brother, parents, grandparents, uncles) without type 2 diabetes. I thought I could do it with SP, but even though its relatively moderate carb, its high fat and id have to fill in another diary for them as well as questionnaires now and then. I wasn't too keen as I find low carb really restrictive but maybe that's what I need Sad

Aww GuineaPigs, so sorry to hear you’re down after your gain. I hate low carb diets, they make me very crabby.

Are you sticking to plan or are you having off days?how many syns are you having a Day?

Report
raisedbyguineapigs · 06/09/2018 21:13

I k ow what I'm doing. I just can't stop snacking on cake and chocolate. My meals are home cooked and healthy but I can't stop eating crap between meals. I am going to do SP for a week and use my syns on fats instead of sugar I think as it's the sugar I can't control. I'm really fed up about it. I like going to group too and have met some really lovely supportive people so I'll miss it if I stop and try and do it on my own.

ALemonyPea · 06/09/2018 22:17

It’s so hard when you get into that rut of eating well but snacking bad. Been there, gained the lbs, cried the tears. Take it a day at a time, you can do it.

Raised- could you change you diet slightly but still weigh in at SW as an incentive and support? I tend to err on the slightly lower carb side as it makes me gain weight, but I recognise I absolutely need the group meetings and weigh-ins. I have come to recognise that I am a food addict and that SW is my FA! (Food Anonymous!)

Report
raisedbyguineapigs · 07/09/2018 16:02

Yes i think I need to look at it that way. I need someone else tracking me and my group is really supportive. So far today, I have had my baked oats which I made with quark, had them with extra quark and blueberries. I had some curry for lunch my mum made so counted a tbsp of oil as syns! and some cauliflower rice. I have had 2 babybels and a pot of almonds to snack on as my hex a and other B and have tuna stir fry for dinner. The whole family if I'm honest needs to cut down the sugar, and I'm the one who does the shopping, so I shouldn't be buying it!
