Taster evenings are held about once every 6 weeks or so and everyone is supposed to bring something along for the group to have a try of. It doesn't have to be complicated. Last time I took along a packet of Edamame beans straight from the super market. Other times I have cooked things. Normally it is a really good way of trying things that others do and getting new ideas - or totally being put off ever trying something you thought you may like!! Grin It's great for ideas and recipes.

FaithEverPresent · 23/05/2018 16:35

I missed our taster week because I was working! Boo!

WI tonight for me. I’m hoping for a loss after gaining last week (star week). I’ve been okay-ish but not brilliantly on plan!

MyGuideJools · 23/05/2018 21:43

Hi all, well done losers!
Well, I went back to group today after leaving in Sept and dallying online (unsuccessfully) for a while.
I lost 5 stone between Oct 2017 and July 2018 then went off the rails big-time (bereavement) Since then I've lost and gained the same stone a dozen timesHmm
So, I've gained 3 stone (but on the bright side I'm still 2 stone lighter than when I first started in Oct 17) Grin
Onwards and upwards!! well downwards we hope

MumInTheCity · 24/05/2018 00:24

I've not posted much this week, my dissertation is due on Friday so I've been hard at work! Still managed to lose 4lbs this week though which I was happy with. Total loss is now 3 stone 11 pounds since 20th january. Have booked next week as holiday as I'm planning to spend this weekend celebrating the end of uni with lots of food and plenty of cocktails! Will get back on it from Monday.

Groovee · 24/05/2018 04:33

Well done @MumInTheCity

@MyGuideJools do you mean Oct 16? I'm getting all confused lol.

Start my job on Monday. Am terrified of starting 5 days. I've not done it in 18 years.

Groovee yes I mean Oct 16 to july 17! sorry to confuseGrin

well done for noticing!
Good luck with the job, I'm sure if it's something you enjoy you will soon get into the swing of itFlowers

FaithEverPresent · 24/05/2018 07:14

I lost 2lb which means a total of 4.5lb in 3 weeks since I got back on plan.

Good luck with the job Groovee. Good luck with the dissertation Mum.

Groovee · 24/05/2018 07:23

I'm already doing the job and my name has been added to the staff list 😱. But I'm going 5 days 😱😱

Haven't been on in a while - I've been a bit up and down on weight loss. Still broadly moving in the right direction but seemed to have stalled/maintained a lot. I am back on it this week and being super good. No weigh in next week due to bank holiday so I want to keep really motivated and pull in a stellar loss the Monday after.
I'm trying to do as many speed days as possible to give me a boast.
Today:
B: Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast
L: Homemade butternut squash and carro soup and an apple
D: Roast gammon, butternut squash, asparagus and cauliflower rice.
Syns: TBD, but there are biscuits in the house....

OutnumberedByFurchesters · 24/05/2018 11:37

Hello - Sorry I joined and then disappeared!

I've lost 1st 2.5lb now since joining in March, having a wedding, 2 birthdays and a holiday in April and then my best month this month! Getting that Stone award was starting to feel like the proverbial donkey and carrot.

Have bought a food diary/planner so hoping to use that and it help get me some bigger losses! :)

Greymalkin · 24/05/2018 16:17

Well done Outnumbered

I lost a pound this week which gives me my 1 stone award - after starting five weeks ago - I'm thrilled to bits

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 24/05/2018 20:39

Has anybody done an SP week? Only the 2nd day and it's become glaringly obvious how much rice, potato and pasta we have and this is where im struggling. Something to accompany the main component of the meal.

boo1507 · 24/05/2018 21:31

I have done SP, Frustrated, and am actually doing one now. I do find it tricky, but I use courgette spaghetti, cauliflower rice, maybe a wholemeal pitta and salad, or butternut squash.

PositiveAttitude · 24/05/2018 21:41

I have done an SP week once......only once!!! Never again. I felt deprived all week and lost a grand total of 1lb!!! I could have done that just sticking to plan!! Others have had far better results though. I used Butternut squash for chips and also a Mash, cauliflower rice with chilli, because I need to feel as if I am having some carbs on my plate! Hmm

A brilliant NSV today for me. I was wearing size 16 clothes for the first time in forever!! - definitely more than 25 years. 2 years ago I bought a load of summer clothes that were all size 28!! Chuffed with that. - I kept looking at myself in the mirror and in any glass window I walked past....and kept on "feeling" my shape (now that sounds a bit pervy!!!! Grin )

FaithEverPresent · 24/05/2018 22:06

I’ve only ever managed the odd S&P day. I love my carbs! Grin

That’s fantastic PA! You must be delighted!

MyGuideJools · 24/05/2018 22:24

well done PA that made me smileSmileStar

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 24/05/2018 23:12

Hmm I think I'm gonna need to try butternut squash or something. Congrats PA.

For inspiration and motivation i like looking at r/progresspics on reddit. I love seeing peoples transformations.

Groovee · 25/05/2018 05:39

Well done PA.

I've never done SP in the 17 months i've been good optimising.

Groovee · 25/05/2018 16:05

Well done Blondes.

I had to work this morning and tried Fruit and Quark for breakfast. I was so hungry by 9am. Need to make sure I do eggs or cereal in future.

IllHaveALargeGlassOfRed · 25/05/2018 19:42

May I join you? I joined SW on Wednesday and I've got 2st 5.5lb to lose. I'm the heaviest I've ever been! Day 1 wasn't great but that was because I hadn't prepped, got anything in etc. I spent day 1 hangry as hell but today has been a good day! I'm trying new things like overnight oats - what a revelation!

I hate dieting but I'm confident that this will work based on feedback from friends and family who've done it.

CressyBessy · 25/05/2018 20:39

Hi all I have a quick question. I find it really hard to have a HEX B choice every day, the given options don't really fit in with the kind of food I like to eat! Is it better to:

  • Not have anything at all
  • Eat something on the list for the sake of it..?
  • Have a couple of extra syns without guilt Wink

Anyone else in the same boat?

CressyBessy · 25/05/2018 20:52

I mean should I have a bowl of cereal tonight for the sake of it? Confused

Groovee · 25/05/2018 20:58

What about trying dried fruit instead? I tended to keep mine for evening time. Now I try to build it into meals.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2018 22:27

The b is for fibre but is Synned at 6syns

So guess tech you could have 6 syns —choccy Bar—

Cereal or bread uses mine up

Think you can have nuts or dried fruit or some tinned soup
