Aha! That makes sense . Thanks boats
I feel thinner but I'm so tuned in to what the scales say I only measure success by that . Good to hear your experience. I'll keep going !

StarlaPriest · 25/04/2018 17:02

I had my weigh in yesterday, and after a disappointing week sts last week, i was chuffed to see that i've shifted 3lbs :)

5lbs down in total so hoping for another lb off now for my half stone award next week. I will be at target for the summer, i will!

StarlaPriest · 25/04/2018 17:02

I missed weigh in on Monday as I had a bad migraine and have had a couple of off-plan days as a result. Back on it today though and hoping I can repair the damage by next Monday. Today's food:
B - banana
L - mugshot (1 syn), berries and a jelly (0.5 syns)
D - Diet Coke chicken, noodles and stir fried veg
S - 4 bread sticks (4 syns), 2 hifis (HEB) and a yoghurt

MabelStark · 25/04/2018 23:10

Thank you for the good wishes!
Well I lost 3lbs this week. Pretty pleased and feel like I'm back on track. ☺️
Been feeling like I needed a sweet treat today so I had raspberries with 0% yoghurt, topped with a 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup. Felt very decadent and sweet for 1 syn.

mayathebee · 25/04/2018 23:17

Well done Mabel, hope you have another great week!

Cherrypi · 26/04/2018 07:14

Anyone watch the hugh fearnley-whittingstall show on obesity last night? His point that if we’re all suddenly fat in can’t just be will power was interesting.

BasinHaircut · 26/04/2018 07:23

Morning all. Haven’t been completely on plan because of conference lunches but I tried to choose well and the Chinese bloat seems to have finally gone. Hurrah!

I’ve decided not to change target, but I am aiming for the lower end of the range.

raisedbyguineapigs · 26/04/2018 10:05

I watched the HFW programme last night too. I found it really interesting. I didn't know that you get more of the calories out of processed food than you would out of the same quantity of unprocessed. that's probably a major reason why people are getting so fat. Also what the shopkeeper was saying about older people cooking but younger people not buying vegetables because they seem like too much hard work. I did think HFW demonstrated how middle class he is though by failing to point out that frozen veg is cheaper and sometimes more nutritious than fresh veg that has been sitting on a shelf for weeks, and its all prepared.
I dont WI until Thursday but Ive been trying out 16:8 for the past 3 days because I was getting so despondent about not losing any weight. So far, its been great. I don't eat until 12.00 lunchtime and I stop eating completely at around 8pm. Its been a revelation! I'm not hungry until just before 12.00 and my sugar cravings during the day have disappeared! I've done 5;2 before but I was stuffing my face on the '5' days so didn't lose any weight. Doing this alongside SW means I'm eating healthily when i can eat, so hopefully it will make a difference! I have only been doing it for 3 days though, so we'll see how long I keep it up for and what difference it makes Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2018 10:10

Well done Starla and Mabel

Last night tea didn’t happen so had for breakie

B sw fry up
L jacket tuna and salad
T sweet potato stew and cous cous

BasinHaircut · 26/04/2018 12:29

What channel was that programme on? I’m going to watch it if I can get it on catch up. Sounds interesting

boats16 · 26/04/2018 12:56

Well done Starla and Mabel 🎉🎉🎉🎉

StarlaPriest · 26/04/2018 14:09

Thanks Guys - I've had a slip up today and ended up eating KFC after a very early hospital appointment lasted for hours and i got over hungry and ate the first thing i came to when i left. 34 syns for what i ate, i've checked it out online so i'm feeling rubbish about it but as long as i stay on plan now and forgo syns for today and tomorrow it should level out ( I hope)

Testarossa1 · 26/04/2018 14:33

I've been struggling a bit with the whole maintain a bit, ended up having 20 syns yesterday ShockConfused so I asked advice on my groups facebook page. Lots of people said a hex a and b. So that's what I'm doing now. I had cereal and 2 slices of bread for my b and milk and cheese for my a. I need rules to follow, not just make it up as you go along!!! Will see what the scales say on Monday.

Groovee · 26/04/2018 16:26

I have 2 A's and 2B's. But I keep losing.

Oldowl · 26/04/2018 17:45

HFW was on BBC 1 at 9pm last night.

A fascinating insight into young people not cooking and processed food and the take away culture taking over.

I never knew your body absorbs more calories from the processed version of say, a cottage pie. But it makes sense when the science is explained. That is the last time I am buying a SW processed meal. If I want a quick dinner I will have a a veggie filled omelette from now on.

Groovee · 26/04/2018 17:58

Off to DD's S6 leaving Ceilidh! Am so tired but maybe the dancing will make up for missing Burlesque.

OP posts:
MumInTheCity · 26/04/2018 21:34

Another day on plan today:
B - banana
L - leftover chicken stir fry and rice
D - pork burger in a wholemeal roll (HEB) with cheese (HEA), gherkins, onions, ketchup (1 syn), salad and chips
S - flump (2.5 syns), yoghurt and raspberries

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/04/2018 22:09

SO extra 12 syns then if an extra a and b

Groovee · 26/04/2018 22:41

Well I have added 5 extra syns in too but have only used them once in 5 weeks!

Last time I did SW I ended up on 4 HE's to maintain!

OP posts:
didireallysaythat · 26/04/2018 23:33

After putting on 1.5lb last week (I'd had the previous three weeks off so I'm counting that as a success as it could have been worse) I lost 1lb this week which I'm happy with (and I didn't mention the wine, the KFC, the fish and chips, the Cadbury's creme egg etc).

I really ought to write stuff down. And track syns. Maybe I'd lose more each week Smile

boats16 · 27/04/2018 08:06

1lb off for me this week. Im finding it hard to maintain. I really thought I would of put lots on this week. Ive eaten crisps, chocolate, full english, all stuff I shouldn't.If this was a normal week and Id be wanting to lose,I bet I would've put on . Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/04/2018 08:11

Whoop lost 2lbs and now lost 1st 1lb!!!

Well happy. Said I wanted to try and lose a stone before holiday. I go Sunday. Hopefully I wont put on too much ........

boats16 · 27/04/2018 09:10
