New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.
Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.
Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie, albeit, I joined SW at the end of September last year.
This absolutely works!! I've lost one and a half stone already! Stay focused and don't worry if you fall off plan..just get straight back on🙂
Looking for SW friends to keep motivated👍🏼 x

Theotherend, have a look at Pinch of Nom and Two Chubby Cubs websites, they have great recipes. Sorry I can’t link as on my phone.
Bit of a flop yesterday as found some Christmas cake, and since I am the only one in the house that eats it, it had to be eaten.
Managing just fine today though.
Greenteandchives · 03/01/2018 18:07
I put on no weight over Christmas at all. I was very surprised as I had eaten and drunk loads more than I should have, especially cheese.
Weighed in yesterday and have gained a pound and a half. In four days! Anyway it is a wake up call, not to be complacent with my diet. Back on plan straight after yesterday’s weigh in.
holycityzoo · 03/01/2018 18:57
Sockportal I always make extra and freeze where I can so I've always got something I throw in the microwave if I'm having a cant be bothered day.
Rejoined this morning. I didn't look when I got weighed though! Today has been fine quite nice to be eating healthily again if I'm honest. Although was mad when I realised Asda wholemeal pitta isn't a b choice anymore especially as I'd just eaten one
B- banana
L- veg soup wholemeal pitta (6 syns grrr) with ham and salad
D-chilli, rice and salad
Snacks carrots sticks, a banana, a couple of slides of cucumber
Hea skimmed milk, heb 1 hifi.
My God is forgotten about the wind when you first start
I keep blaming the dog.

Just watched Tom Kerridge's weight loss cooking programme on BBC2. Great recipes, bit of a faff and not very SW. I get where he comes from about flavour. I have used so many herbs and spices since joining SW. My plates are colourful and the rest of the family are keen to eat my meals and not the usual rubbish they stuff.
I love the Thai chicken noodle recipe in the Oct-Nov magazine. The flavours are amazing.

Just wandering back on here...
Back to work for me today and back on plan. I've had a fab Christmas and new year, eaten all the wrong things and had a great time.
Giving myself a week on plan then going to get weighed on Tuesday, find out the damage! I lost 2 stone last year to get to target (overall loss 3st 6lb). I won't have put two stone on so it's all good!
Should have a good week, out for curry Saturday though!
Groovee · 03/01/2018 21:30
I'm still in shock... 3 weeks I only gained 3.5lb! Back on plan 100% apart from Saturday as I have a wedding and cannot control the food there.
Made chicken and bacon risotto following the SW Quick Veg Risotto recipe.
Went back to Burlesque after 4 weeks! I'm dying 😂
susurration · 03/01/2018 21:35
Well done everyone who had weigh in today. I'm firmly in the 'Christmas and holidays are for enjoying, it can all be fixed again' camp. Especial well done to Claudia for losing over Christmas.
I did a cheeky weigh in this morning (only two days in...) but I am choosing to believe I'm already 0.5lbs down like my scales said! Proper weigh in day is Thursday so going to weigh again in the morning and see what it says. Should I record tomorrow's weight or shall I wait until next Thursday like the website is asking?
RealHousewifeOfLapland · 03/01/2018 22:27
First weigh in tonight and 6.5lb lost, pleased with that and looking forward to trying New recipes out this week. I have lost weight on slimming world before but always get complacent, then stop going to group because of a small gain which ultimately leads to regaining all and more weight again.......lot more determined this time though. 5 stone to go.......!
Tiredtimster · 04/01/2018 01:08
Joining in for 2018. I’m awake but should be asleep as work tomorrow 😩, can’t sleep for thinking about how big and fat I am.
Been online to find my nearest sw group and it’s tomorrow at 7pm, I plan to be there.
Great to hear your weight loss stories, I’m 43 about 5’3”, currently weighing in at 15 st 2lb, I could cry. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been and I know it needs to change.
susurration · 04/01/2018 10:53
@realhousewife and @tiredtimster best of luck!
realhousewife That's a brilliant loss for the first week. Today is day three of being on plan for me, but i've just done an early morning weigh and I already seem to be down 2lbs. In two minds whether to record it or not though, as Slimming World website doesn't seem to think today is technically a weigh day for me.
Tiredtimster I hope you managed a bit of sleep. If it's any consolation, I'm only 1" taller than you and 3 stone heavier so you're not alone. At my heaviest I was 19st 11lbs.
