New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.

Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

Thanks. Just made my first overnight oats.

boo1507 · 22/02/2018 07:13

Okay - inspiration needed! What are you favourite SW dinners everyone? We have loved zesty cod and chips and doet cola chicken so far (big hit with the kids). My husband also loved the chicken and cauliflower curry I made last night. Tell me your best discoveries!

PositiveAttitude · 22/02/2018 07:17

Scared I had only ever done a day or 2 a week Sp when my consultant suggested doing a whole week to get a good loss. That was after a very undeserved 1.5lb GAIN one week. So I stuck to it for the whole week and was soo excited to get on the scales. I had lost the 1.5lb that I had not deserved the previous week. I was gutted. It doesnt seem to work for me!!
But then not a lot is working for me at the moment. I even did the fast forward and was expected to lose about 5lb and only lost 2. I have actually made an appointment with my Dr next week to get my thyroid checked out. It took me a year to lose 5stone, but it has taken me over 8 months to lose the next 0.5 stone and that has included some majorly drastic weeks to get it shifting.

MummyOfATerrible2 · 22/02/2018 07:27

@boo1507 I love the sw lasagne although my husbands not keen, also the Diet Coke chicken, the beef hotpot is nice but more of a weekend dish as take 3.5 hours cooking, the chicken korma is tasty too, after reading someone made the pinch nom toad in the hole I made that and it was lovely. I haven't made them recently but I remember marinated chicken skewers being nice with a zesty salad and rice! My 2 yo DS will also eat what I eat for dinner which is handy!

Flutterby81 · 22/02/2018 08:23

@boo1507 some favourites in my house are campfire stew, dirty rice, Cuban beef, beef ragu, melt in middle burgers, Mediterranean chicken orzo(all from pinch of nom) also chilli, spag Bol jacket potatoes. Hope that helps a little

Flutterby81 · 22/02/2018 08:26

Both my teens set their alarms off at 6. So I got up, put my coat on and went for a brisk walk in my PJ's.

Have made pulled pork which is in the slow cooker. Tomatoless Minestrone Soup is bubbling on the hob.

Feeling like I need a snooze now.

@ Flutterby81 my friend in a cafe who makes them told me to get a low pan of water ,bring it to the boil ,swirl the water round then just crack the egg in. The swirl stops the white from going all over. You can have them how you want then, you can see them ,,soft or hard. I have been doing it like this since she told me and I have nice soft eggs. Regards Michelle

Flutterby81 · 22/02/2018 09:35

Thanks groovee and boats. I done the boiling swirling water in the pan this morning just ended up a mess all around the pan maybe I didn’t have he swirl right Grin will google the cup way.

BlooBagoo · 22/02/2018 09:56

That cheeseburger pasta is soooo good, definitely one of my favourites and even the fussy child will eat it too.

I have a NSV today: picked up a lovely M&S wrap cardi from a charity shop a few weeks ago, was gutted when it felt too tight on my arms. Well I'm wearing it comfortably today. :D I've been fluttering around the 1.5stone off mark since SEPTEMBER so I'm obviously right that my body has still been changing even if my weight hasn't.

twizzr · 22/02/2018 10:05

Well done all .

madein1995 · 22/02/2018 10:48

scared I find sp days give me a push in the right direction, but if I only ate what you ate I'd be starving (greedy lol!)

When I do sp I tend to have bacon, egg, mushrooms etc for breakfast.
I tend to use my b choice at lunch - ham roll/ryvits etc or soup and a roll, plus a container of speed fruit, maybe an orange too
My fave tea is roast chicken, roast Peppers, courgette and tomato's, and I use my a choice to do a stuffed mushroom. Or I have a big bowl of chilli etc.
Tends to fill me up more so I'm not temped to snack so much

madein1995 · 22/02/2018 10:51

Plan for today -
Strawberries, mango, raspberries, blackberries and yogurt
Small pack chicken (starving but WI tonight so trying to be good)
Ryvita and Philly (both healthy extras)
Pork stir fry after WI - easy
Twix (6syns)

Vintage62 · 22/02/2018 11:33

Oh, this is harder than I expected. I have stuck to the plan, but my statistics are lost 1/2 lb, lost 1 lb, lost 3 lb and then put on 1lb (but my consultant says it may be because I was wearing a wool sweater). I did however fit into a 1950s waisted jacket that hadn't done up for a while, so either I have lost an inch or the fat has squidged somewhere else! On the one hand I loathe the fact that I am thinking about food all day (not because I am hungry but because of the planning and shopping), but on the other hand I am trying out new recipes. I made Slimming World Ocean pie yesterday, and planning home made burgers with JD burger seasoning tomorrow. I keep browsing kitchen utensil websites, on the basis that not buying biscuits means I can buy a burger press instead.

Groovee · 22/02/2018 13:13

I wear the same clothes every week to weigh in 😂

calzone · 22/02/2018 16:46

My favourite meal is sw lasagne but made with cauliflower cheese sauce instead of using eggs and yoghurt.

I use this sauce for macaroni cheese as well. It’s amazing and speedy.

calzone · 22/02/2018 16:47

I’m having chicken and chorizo traybake tonight with salad.

boats16 · 22/02/2018 17:38

I do that too@ Groovee (well when weighing myself anyway ) Grin . are there any more emojis ? Like the one you posted for example ?

Flutterby81 · 22/02/2018 18:10

Just googled cheeseburger pasta looks really nice il definetly be trying that Smile

MumInTheCity · 22/02/2018 18:28

I also wear the same outfit to weigh in every week Grin.

I've never tried the cheeseburger pasta, definitely going to give it a go after reading this thread.

I was doing well today until my work colleagues got me a chocolate birthday cake (it's my birthday tomorrow but I'm not working) and I felt I had to eat some. I did have the tiniest slice though.

This weekend will be hard with the birthday celebrations but I'll try my best not to go too mad! Today's food:

B - banana and grapes
L - jacket potato, cheese (HEA), beans and salad
D - Diet Coke chicken, rice and salad
S - chocolate cake!

Oldowl · 22/02/2018 18:34

I wear the same clothes too. The lightest leggings and a vest top... no watch, ear rings etc!! Stayed the same this week.

Vintage62 · 22/02/2018 19:29

Just made SW tomato ketchup, but have found it too spicy. Has anyone another recipe, or suggestions as how to alter the original recipe?

Just been back to Burlesque. We did one of our first routines. It was fab. Great to be back exercising.

Happy Birthday @MumInTheCity for tomorrow.

I have no idea @Vintage62
