New thread to see in 2018. Everyone welcome.

Having lost 4st in 2017... I'm looking at target by Valentine's Day if possible.

Look forward to welcoming everyone back and welcome to those embarking on their journey x

Well done all losers.
I've hit an plateau. I've put 1lb on today for the second week running. I've had a sulk today and finished off the Valentine's Day chocolates!Tomorrow will be a fresh start. I'm going to keep a food diary to see where I'm going wrong.

Hi all

Managed back to work today. Got offered a new role too. Hopefully being back at work will help me keep moving (work in Nursery). Even turned down crackers and cheese as I knew I would want more.

Well done to those losing this week and hugs to those who gained. Mollie a few friends have said SP didn't work for them either.

Off for a bath. All day at work and then DH made me walk to Tesco with him. I need a soak x

Good for you [Mollie] .I can only fit it in once a week . I am aiming for a stone. I need to lose it before the beginning of June so I feel confident when I go on holiday . Then my aim is to keep it off (hard part ) Wink

Well done to all those with a great result. I'll have to keep trying as I've maintained for the second week in a row. Felt I deserved a loss both weeks so even more disappointing.
Ah well - carry on eh?
I've been doing really well, planning, cooking, only snacking on 'allowed' foods, thought I was on the right track.
I'm putting one week of maintain down to 'star' week and the other down to my inactivity in the last week as I've had a really nasty cold.
Am going to consciously up my speed and drink more water and see if that gives me a better result.

ALemonyPea · 19/02/2018 20:44

Mabel, try snack on speed foods rather than free foods, so mainly fruit and veg. It does help.

Yes I've been in the banana, grape, yoghurt snack mindset. I'll have a google and see what would work better. x

It seems a lot of people struggled this week, there were a lot of gains at my group last night and not many losses. I think it's a culmination of half term, pancake day and valentines. I managed to lose half a pound which I was happy with. Onwards and upwards! (Or rather downwards on the scales at least!)

Report
Zazu44 · 20/02/2018 08:18

Starting again today! Does anyone find if they do a meal plan for the week it helps?

Report
ALemonyPea · 20/02/2018 09:43

Bananas are a killer for me, I avoid them at all cost. Grapes are also not a great snack food.

I buy packs of sliced apple from Asda, 5 for £1.50 and they’re my go to snack.

I've been plodding along, haven't posted in here for a while but every time I lose I end up putting it back on whenever there's a night out (and I'm being invited to way too many right now, not sure when I gained a social life!) Half term hasn't helped much either as I've just not had the motivation the whole time.

Thinking of doing some SP days to try and kickstart things again and to try and get my brain back in the right frame of mind. Any tips from anyone for SP days? I know the basics and will be making sure to double check my book when I'm not sure on something, but just wondering what sort of meals people went for to make sure they stuck to it. I work from home so cooking something for lunch isn't a problem as long as it's not too time consuming.

Well done everyone!

I lost another 1.5 lbs. I guess it's just going to be slow and steady. Although breastfeeding helps burn calories I'm quite convinced it's also stopping me from having larger losses (holding onto fat reserves) I'm not going to stop breastfeeding so this is the way it's going to be.. slow and steady. 5lbs gone in 3 weeks.

Thanks all and congrats on all the losses.
I weighed this morning and I am now back to what I was last week.
I don’t think I’ll be doing SP weeks any more...

Yesterday the devil on my shoulder was telling me “have a Chinese - you’ve put on two pounds anyway so you might as well make it worth your while...” but I didn’t and had my omelette for my tea Grin

May not be much, but I consider that a NSV Wink

Well done for not caving in to the Chinese, Mollie. It's tough when you can smell delicious food even if it's only in your imagination.

Haudyerwheest, I can remember not losing weight quickly after my babies even though they fed relentlessly and my Health Visitor expressed surprise that the weight wasn't falling off me.😁

I've dug the sas daily logs out of the starter pack and filled in today's sheet. I've made lentil and tomato soup for lunch and a Quorn steak strips casserole for tea.
I'm helping DS1 and his gf empty boxes in their new house this afternoon so I want to have something to come back to that is on plan.

Spurred on by [Groovees] homemade soup I made a batch of SW chicken, celeriac and sweetcorn. Its fine but it tastes horrible. Its just all sweetcorn taste. I dont know what to do with it all. I could chuck it but that would be a waste of 2 chicken breasts.Confused

Boats could you salvage it with chilli flakes and potatoes? Grin

Report
Mollie85 · 20/02/2018 17:29

Cherrypi- ball bearings would be better Wink

My tips would be to keep your food diary, syn up if you’re not sure and plan plan plan!

Thats a good idea [Mollie] but its quite thick. Ill try chilli flakes to give some flavour but its too thick for potatoes. Thanks for the tip anyway Wink

Well first session was a bit information overload. I’m switching from low carb and haven’t much in for breakfast. Think I’ll have porridge with water and blueberries. Only have full fat milk in too.

Report
Groovee · 21/02/2018 02:57

@Cherrypi I make my porridge with water then stir in a yoghurt and add frozen fruit which is quite filling x

40g porridge is surprisingly loads. Might have to syn some milk for coffee later though. Do they refine your number of syns in week 2?
