Good evening all. I'm new here and am hoping that some of you lovely people will be able to help. This is my second try at SW (first time was an epic fail on my part) this will be week 10 and I'm 2lbs off a stone. I know it's not that great of a loss especially when I see how well others do but a loss is a loss. My biggest problem is that I can't help but pick!! 😠 I'm even worse when I'm tired and I will over syn and eat loads of rubbish. I know it will only make me feel bad but I can't be the only one who loses control 😕?
Any advice to help with my picking/stuffing ones face (apart from gluing my mouth shut lol) will be greatly appreciated 😊

OrianaBanana · 07/03/2017 18:25

I pick too! Can you make sure everything you pick at is SW friendly? Pickles, gherkins, carrot sticks, chicken drumsticks, leftovers, there's loads of stuff you can pick at. Save syns til the evening and if you choose snacks wisely you can eat quite a bit Smile

Nmg89xx · 07/03/2017 18:35

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I do try but again it's an epic fail. The naughty goodness just seems better at the time. I will try and prepare emergency snacks for those harder times. Saving syns for the evening sounds like a great plan ☺. I avoided cake at work today then came home and ate my weight in syns. Thank you for your help x

ChessieFL · 07/03/2017 18:44

Nmg, the only way I can avoid picking sometimes is by not having stuff in the house - if it's not there I can't eat it! Harder if you need to keep stuff in for partner/kids though.

Ah see I'm not a picker. I'm a great big fuck off takeaway with wine eater.

And a lover of beef dripping.

well, been very much on plan apart from a slight hitch on Sunday. Plus have walked approximately 8000 miles over the last few days so hoping Thursday will see a loss.

Ooh have you all got tasters again? They haven't mentioned it at ours so hopefully it's next week when I'm away.

Nmg89xx · 07/03/2017 19:33

Thank you Chessie. My partner is great and will eat what I do but my daughter is a different story. I have thought about getting them to hide the sweet treats away from me. It's a long shot but could work

Emmageddon · 07/03/2017 19:35

@STUDENTLJMU I'll give it a go.

Had a few days away and SW has gone to pot. Too much wine and not enough speed. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Groovee · 07/03/2017 19:37

I'm in shock... 3.5lb off.

Student I can help X

whereareyousleep · 07/03/2017 19:47

1lb off for me I'm disappointed I've really stuck to it loads of speed didn't go over syns any day I don't know what's happening I've only lost a stone and still got another 5 to go and I just seem to be stuck.

TheImprobableGirl · 07/03/2017 20:07

Really good day here- apart from my dinner :(
can anybody estimate the syns in a harvester burger? Managed to avoid wine and dips- asked for it without the burger sauce too- so really a beef burger, brioche bun, and a handful of chips is all I need to syn. Proud of myself for resisting other naughty bits bar a freshly baked bread roll

ALemonyPea · 07/03/2017 20:10

Regarding the snacking, in the morning, make yourself a plate with synned and speed/free foods and put it in the fridge and then when you want something to snack on, go to it. I know the fridge is the first place I go to when I want to snack.

I always have giant oranges in the fridge to snack on, as I love cold oranges and they're easy to eat.

Would this be it?

Improbable, Harvester classic burger is 29.5 syns excluding sides.

TheImprobableGirl · 07/03/2017 20:46

Hmm 29.5 it is! Thanks Grin I'm going to take off 4 for the sauce though... and add on 10 for literally a couple of chips so round up to 35? Not too bad really I think!

BasinHaircut · 07/03/2017 20:46

Fuck me thats a lot of syns for a burger Shock

I haven't had dinner yet. Bad day at work and then DS was being so adorable that I let him have lots of bedtime stories. Piri piri chicken, roasted veg, sweet potato and feta mash is cooking away. Need to work out syns for feta and piri piri marinade but have only had 7 syns so far today so should be all good.

PositiveAttitude · 07/03/2017 21:36

1lb off for me tonight, well pleased with that.

Today I said good bye to Dh for a month as he is off to Cambodia to go and sort out our charity out there. So I have come home and done a fuckton of emotional eating and have gone wayyyyyyyy over the top and now feel incredibly sick!
Back on it for the morning!

Is someone going to start a new thread?

29.5 syns for a burger! Shock I bloody hope it was lush!

ALemonyPea · 07/03/2017 21:51

New thread

hello! Im new here. week 3 and 9lb down. Loving SW so far, but struggle to fit in syns as I fill up on free foods during the day and would be eating syns for the sake of it. I got my first feedback on my weekly food diary and my consultant said to make sure im eating at least 5 a day :/ seems counterproductive to me, no? x
