What's the recipe for campfire stew? Sounds interesting.

Grin at big bugger buffet. Sounds like my idea of heaven.

Someone had made a roulade at our social team gathering yestery. 2 syns for the whole thing, and it made 12 slices, so I'm going to attempt it tomorrow. Mmmmm cake.

lemony a roulade sounds right up my street!Grin you must attempt it and let us know.
I shall report back about the big bugger buffet, I'm salivating at the thought, not long now.......

BasinHaircut · 05/03/2017 16:31

Ohh I love a bit of slow cooked gammon, but it does need a bit of sweetness so I do mine in Diet Coke. Do you think maybe a bit of sweetener or honey might save the stew?

WhoKn0wsWhereTheTimeG0es · 05/03/2017 17:04

I love slow cooked gammon too but prefer spices to sweetness, I put peppercorn, a cinnamon stick, a clove or two into the, I don't think I'd like the Diet Coke version. I can't bear pineapple with gammon either.

Well, I have had a piggy week. A family birthday, lots of cakes and a couple of meals out. I decided to give up bread for Lent but have accidentally failed twice, it's so easy to just forget. Hoping to get back on track tomorrow for WI on Thurs.

muminthecity · 05/03/2017 18:16

Don't know what's wrong with me today, I can't stop eating! Had a huge cooked breakfast which usually sees me through til dinner, but I ended up having a big lunch and snacks in between. I've had 15 syns already and about to have a spag bol for dinner Blush. At least it's syn free though! Hopefully I can stop eating everything in sight after that and not go over my 15 syns.

OwlinaTree · 05/03/2017 19:31

Hi all, had a good weekend here. My sons birthday, so we all went to a Museum today as the weather was rubbish here. Very little food choice in the museum, ended up with soup and about 5 chips as there were no jackets. Reckon i wasted about 8 at least on that, very annoying. Finding it very hard to resist the lovely chocolate and smartie cake I've made him too, I was going to have a bit but after using syns at lunchtime I'd better not!

Putting the kids to bed now after a long day, got a feeling my dh will want takeaway...

BasinHaircut · 05/03/2017 20:38

I think I've decided to book off the 13th, but go the following week and take the inevitable gain. Hopefully it will be a temporary one and will help me get back on track.

Dinner tonight was lamb shank (2.5 syns), potatoes, parsnips, carrots and spring greens. Yummy.

Feeling good and like I'm back on track today.

OwlinaTree · 05/03/2017 22:55

Oooh lamb shank, yum yum haven't had that for ages!

Lulooo · 06/03/2017 05:05

Hi all.
Had a flop of a weekend with three days of probably around 35 syns per day and zilch speed. I thought I had developed good habits in the past 8 weeks and had trained myself to eat less and not crave chocolate so much but these past three days showed me that I was just fooling myself and could easily switch back to eating half a double chocolate gateau slice by slice in one evening.

New day, new week- I'm putting it all behind me now. I'll do a couple of days of SP this week probably and plan my meals again properly.

When I was attending group I would WI at 5.30pm on Monday but now that I'm doing it online I'm going to switch to WI on Tuesday morning.

Here's looking to the week ahead. Hope we all get great losses.

loveslipstick · 06/03/2017 06:41

WI week 4 for me this morning and I have lost 3lbs. Bringing my grand total to 1stone 6.5lbs so far.

Really pleased and hope I keep it up, this is the easiest weight loss I have ever had to do so hopefully!!!

I said before it'll be 3 stone before anyone notices and loss I think

Groovee · 06/03/2017 07:46

Well done on losses.

harverina · 06/03/2017 08:01

I know I shouldn't have, but I weighed myself this morning and I have gained 1lb this week and it's my first week.

I was out Friday night for dinner and drinks and Saturday for dinner but I have stuck to the plan religiously since last Tuesday morning aside from that.

Could it be because I have gone from counting calories to this?

I'm a bit disappointed Sad

harverina · 06/03/2017 08:01

Meant to say my class is tomorrow morning

BasinHaircut · 06/03/2017 08:07

Well done loves!

owlina the Tesco slow cooked lamb shanks in minted gravy are only 2.5syns each and that includes the gravy!

There is usually some hard fat in the packet that you can pick out before you cook too to make them better, as they are chilled.

They are delicious and feel like a real treat.

Weigh in tonight for me. Hoping for a STS I think

BasinHaircut · 06/03/2017 08:17

harv you might be retaining some water from alcohol and salty food, but depending on how much you have to lose, you might not be able to get way with having 2 nights off plan per week and lose weight. I know that I wouldn't.

Lots of water between now and weigh in to flush out any bloating and see what the SW scales say tomorrow.

harverina · 06/03/2017 08:28

I have over 3 stones to lose. I always weighed myself on Friday and had gained 5lbs after 3 strict days on plan with no syns - I knew I was going out so kept them. I am also off biscuits cake and chocolate for lent so I thought I would have a good loss

harverina · 06/03/2017 09:01

My last post is a jumbled mess!

What I meant to say was I also weighed myself on Friday after three really good days and had gained 0.5!bs

ALemonyPea · 06/03/2017 09:08

Morning campers.

Harv, you may well be bloated, don't give up just yet. The plan does work if you stick to it. If you're saving syns for treats, you should still have 5 syns a day.

DS3 is off school today with vomiting bug 🤢I hope I don't get it, or do I since I'm getting weighed tomorrow 🤔

Groovester · 06/03/2017 09:11

That's brilliant loves

harverina · 06/03/2017 09:29

Will just go tomorrow and take it from there. I didn't eat any syns as knew how many I would use at the weekend.

From tomorrow will start a fresh and eat my syns - no plans at the weekend so will see if that makes a difference.

Possibly going from counting calories to slimming world has meant an increase in calories though and it might take a while to adjust

TheImprobableGirl · 06/03/2017 09:47

Right I have synned terribly (that is my confession Grin - forgive me slimmers for I have synned) but it's a sunny Monday here in the midlands- so I'm right back on it. Going to go for a swim this morning - aiming for 75 lengths (pool is only 20m) to kick start the day- and it's a half hour hilly walk there and back- hoping this might burn off the 3lb my scale says I have added.... maybe not Grin

BasinHaircut · 06/03/2017 09:55

harv see what the scales say tomorrow and have a word with your consultant. Have you written everything down? If you have get her to have a look at it.

If you need help day to day it might help to post each day what you have eaten here and ask if it looks ok.

If you were calorie counting before it could be your body getting used to more food maybe. Probably not more calories but a completely different way of eating

TheImprobableGirl · 06/03/2017 11:31

Harv - it could also be water weight- don't feel too disheartened!
B- Tesco Lincolnshire-style sausages (very tasty! And 1 syn each) 2 syns
L- carrot and coriander soup
D- chicken and bacon tortellini (11.5) with chorizo (6) peppers m, mixed salad and homemade pasta sauce

A bit over syns (19.5 for the day) but I've got nothing else in really so may aswell eat it up!

harverina · 06/03/2017 11:36

Thanks everyone! Yes posting my diary may be a good idea, even to start with if you guys don't mind?

I've kept a diary of everything I've eaten and it all looks pretty good I think!

Today so far:

Weetabix x 2 with unseeetened soya milk.
Strawberries

Lunch is homemade lentil soup made with potatoes, turnip, carrots, lentils, stock.
Muller light yogurt.

Dinner is homemade cottage pie made using a slimming world recipe that was on the app this week. Used 5% steak mince.
I will probably have some fruit with my cup of tea in the evening.

Does anyone have some good low syn supper ideas? Or even ideas for what to have in the evening with a cup of tea?

I'm not eating chocolate, cake or biscuits for lent so can't buy the slimming world bars until April!

WaitrosePigeon · 06/03/2017 11:36

3lb down. 9lbs in 3 weeks. Feeling good. Well done to all the losses. Hope everyone has a good week.
