DH and I have agreed not to POAS until Wednesday morning for two reasons: that is the day after my longest cycle in the past 18 months, and there is a bottle of champagne in the futility room with my name on it I'm really called Roger that I couldn't drink at Christmas because I was on antibiotics and I am drinking it on Tuesday night.

emwithme · 12/02/2017 14:23

But I really want to POAS.

Instead I am going to wear nice knickers to work tomorrow. I'll definitely come on then Grin

This is going to be the last time I join SW...put 2st back on since I stopped going in May! Lost 1st 2.5lb of it in 4 weeks but I pretty much SP'd every day and shocked my body! Now, it is used to SP and wl has slowed. Boo hiss!! I'm considering my AB options today... Late night porridge or cheese on toast?

Ohh em what outcome would you be happy with there? Fx for you either way.

Just had weetabix and milk for a late lunch for HEXA&B.

Whoever asked about SW without speed food. I think it works without being strictly 1/3 speed, especially if your previous diet is very poor and you have a lot to loose. But I think you would hit a point where you needed to include speed.

My diet pre-SW wasn't actually that bad aside from too much takeaway but we eat big portions and so speed is really important to help reduce intake

Afternoon all.

Lemony we had the m and s valentines meal last night. It was bloody lovely and I drank all the prosecco so have felt grotty all day.

Need to pull some syns back now though. So going alcohol free until WI on Wednesday. Had poached eggs and beans on toast for brunch and fished a chilli out the freezer to have with rice later.

I always try and do 1/3 speed. But sometimes I just use my common sense. So my brunch this morning could have had mushrooms on for speed. But I didn't have any in. My portion size wasn't affected by not having speed. And I won't eat anything else until my tea later so am ok with that.

But I generally try and make sure I am replacing some (mainly carbs) free food with speed. Lunch is usually speed foods with a protein like tuna or ham. Tea is always quite balanced. I don't snack on carbs either.

I bought a Misto spray oil bottle the other day. It's fab! I don't like frylight so just use an olive oil spray but they don't sell them in aldi. It sprays like an aerosol rather than a spray bottle. You charge it up with a hand pump before using. You get a very fine layer of oil so ideal to reduce intake. £1.99 from TK Max!

ALemonyPea · 12/02/2017 16:12

That sounds fab Frouby, I'll have to go see if they have it in my local TKMaxx.

groovester I know what you mean. I've got so used to my clothes being baggy, the 16 felt tight, even tho it wasn't and everyone keeps telling me it looks fineConfused
And my bra is sooo uncomfortable and I can't understand why..........

I don't always have 1/3 speed on my plate, for example don't like mushrooms or tomatoes not in sauces so if I have a cooked breakfast I'll just have eggs/quorn sausages/bacon medallions/beans or a combination of, and have Speed fruit afterwards or for a snack later. other meals will be well over a third speed (e.g. Bacon butternut squash and sweet potato stew, only sweet potato and back isn't Speed. I have butternut squash, tomato, onion and green beans all Speed)

I'm not a big veg eater unless I focus on it but SW is making me focus. I definitely eat more fruit than I used to which I find easier as it's sweeter and easy to grab a pear or punnet of blackberries.

I lost weight on SW years ago on mainly the old green days eating not a lot of fruit and veg. But I think the way it is now focusing on protein and speed is much healthier.

That's lucky em- my name happens to be Pol Grin we can share. Hope you get the result you want if you POAS! still waiting for my BFP- but haven't DTD for two months so perhaps it's unlikely (had enough acronyms for now?!)

I've fucked my slimming world RIGHT up this week. Seriously need to get my head back on. I've been ill with a cold plus a bereavement plus the kids are being generally satanic... I've fallen headfirst into 3 bottles of wine this week already with another bottle on the way home with do. So after an approximate 5lb gain I'm going to start again tomorrow

RE bras, I've gone down two band sizes in bras, so definitely get yourself measured. Current ones are feeling a little uncomfortable, so probably need to be remeasured.

My consultant is super-big on speed and could do with a healthy dose of common sense sometimes.

I do a 1/3 plate of speed most of the time for dinner - I've scrapped it for lunch unless I'm having a salad as I found I was eating too much fruit that I didn't particularly like just to satisfy the speed componement.

I once posted a pic of a vegetable curry on FB and she commented that I should have had a third speed on the page. The whole f-ing thing was speed!

theimprobable I had a week like that last week, I think it's worse when you're ill as your body just wants to hold onto every bloody calorie. Not only do I have trouble resisting the wine, but once drunk I'm also very good at justifying off-plan food, so it's like a double whammy.

It's been suggested to have wine spritzers instead, but I could kill for a lovely, heavy full-bodied glass of red right now. Switched to vodka for a bit, but I can drink vodka until the cows come home, whereas I can stop after a bottle of wine - and I came to the conclusion that a bottle of wine was probably better than a bottle of vodka!

I need some new work trousers - they're hanging on my hips now which is irritating.

Hi everyone. Started end of november, am 1lb off my 2 and a half stone award and have cocked up massively today. Got very drunk last night and threw up lots. Been feeling ill all day and have just eaten crap crap and more crap. Its weigh in tomorrow evening and am feeling guilty and a bit disgusted with myself.

sunshine just do what you need to do today and draw a line and start again tomorrow. Take the hit on the scales if need be and just remember that we still need to live as well as lose weight or what's the point!

Welcome christina, is there anything you aren't getting that we can help with?

I've got a fake KFC in the oven and I can't bloody wait for it. Half and half sweet potato and carrot chips so there is some speed but it's not a third of the meal but will do.

A bit worried about weigh in tomorrow because of last night plus a shitty week of being unwell but fingers crossed for a maintain as I'm 1lb off my stone award.

Another newbie here.
Joined SW online yesterday as no local groups to suit my schedule. Still taking it all in and feeling slightly overwhelmed if I'm honest.
Fridge is stocked up with fruit, veg & salad. What else do I need?
Also, what's the difference between Free Foods and Speed Foods?

Report
ClashCityRocker · 12/02/2017 19:15

Ooh let me know what the kfc chicken is like basin

Free foods are foods you don't need to measure, so lean meat, most veg and fruit, pasta, rice (if it's dry, not fresh).

Speed foods are also free - these are fruit and vegetables that have low calorie density but high nutrients. You should make 1/3 of your plate speed foods at mealtimes (unless, as you'll have gathered from reading the thread above, it doesn't make sense to!)

Effectively, you'll be replacing part of your meal with food that's good for you nutritionally but low calorie.

Frylight is useful to replace oil.

Another newbie here - I'm desperate for tips on losing weight whilst living with a dp with a ridiculously high metabolism! He eats like a high and his 32 waist Levi's are hanging off him! We've not got time to cook different meals though.

Report
ClashCityRocker · 12/02/2017 19:36

Another one with a ridiculously high metabolism dh here - although his is due to health issues, his weight rarely goes above 8.7 stone.

I tend to cook for the both of us. I just put more veg on mine and less of the main bit, while he has a larger portion and maybe garlic bread or something on the side. SW meals tend to pretty family friendly - a lot of it's just cooking from scratch rather than jars and stuff.

If I can be arsed, I'll do proper chips for him, but most times he's happy enough to eat SW chips and roast potatos etc.

I've also started reducing my portion and taking the leftovers to work the next day. One night of the week, he'll get a takeaway and I'll just cook for myself.

I'm fortunate in that we don't share the same taste in snacks - he's a crisp and peanut junkie whereas I'm not fussed.

Dinner was gooooood. I even made little hash browns so it was like a zinger tower burger. Marinated the chicken all day in hot sauce and then 'battered' in egg and cheap smash.
