lemony it was lovely! No syns for me today! Making a chicken stew with lots of speed.

latedecember1963 · 06/03/2017 12:57

Keep reading this thread Harverina as there's loads of tips from people who know SW inside out. Good luck for tomorrow.
2nd weigh in this morning and I've STS. Been at our caravan Fri, Sat &Sun and thought I'd been pretty good. Cooked from scratch etc. but didn't have any fry light so used olive oil and I did have the tasteless low-cap wine on Friday evening.
Anyway, I've come home and made lentil & veg soup and pasta salad for work tomorrow & Weds ( both free). Hopefully get half stone award next week. Good luck to everyone else this week.

latedecember1963 · 06/03/2017 13:04

Low cal wine

BasinHaircut · 06/03/2017 13:26

harv that looks fine food diary-wise.

I'd stick with it another week and you might find the weight loss kicks in next week.

If not, Are you maybe having lots of teas with sugar? Or using oil liberally? There are loads of ways for syns to sneak in without even realising. I'm a bugger for eating leftover fish fingers off of DS's plate and have to stop myself.

I quite often have a glass of milk as a sweet treat in the evenings. Or a couple of snack a jacks if I'm peckish.

TBH though we don't eat till 8pm most nights, sometimes later, and so I don't generally need anything after dinner. But sometimes it's nice to finish on something sweet.

Frouby · 06/03/2017 13:37

Afternoon all.

Lovely day here today. Almost springlike! Been to ponies and aldi and have just sat down from 8am.

Just had the most delicious sandwich for lunch. 2 x wm (full size so 2.5 syns I think). A slice of ham, a couple of slices of pastrami, sliced cucumber, tomato and beetroot with pickled onions and pickled gherkins on the side for speed.

It was the best sandwich I have had for ages! Worth the couple of syns definitely.

Tea tonight is chicken dinner with a fuckton of veg.

New fridge is awesome. Spent £100 in aldi today. Fuckton of veg and salad and fruit. Plus a chicken, joint of beef, gammon joint, stuff for a big salad, fish etcetera.

New fridge still look bare! Is fabulous, hate playing fridge jenga and am likely to not eat something if I have to dig for it.

Obviously because I have a swanky mew fridge I am going to eat a lot more speed. Grin

Shamoffour · 06/03/2017 14:21

Oh my fucking God.

Dp has just informed me he has booked a family holiday at the end of May. It's at a really fancy pants hotel where all the mums have six packs and look like goddesses!
I need to be at target by then (around 2 stone) I've ordered the 30 day shred to try and tone up a bit.
I've had a bad weekend and I really need to focus and get to where I need to be.

Help. I'm panicked!

ALemonyPea · 06/03/2017 15:17

I'm jealous of your new fridge Frouby. We are getting a new fridge when we get our new kitchen fitted. It'll be a huge America fridge freezer, and I'll not need to play fridge tetris when I do shopping.

A lot of people at my group are doing the 30 day abs challenge Sham. I intend on doing it when I'm all healed up. You could easily get to target by the end of May if you're very very strict,Mandy don't plateau like I've been doing. Good luck.

Now DS2 is home with the sickness bug. Oh the joy!

I love my big fridge too. It's really nice not having to stick the weeks' meat in the freezer and get a bit out each day for dinner. Keeping it all in the fridge means we can switch meals around to suit a bit more which is handy. I HATE defrosting meat in the microwave. And YY to not having to play Tetris every time you fancy a yoghurt.

I've made pinch of nom onion and sweet potato bhajis to go with my chick pea curry for dinner tonight. They taste amazing and are syn free. Would scoff a few more if it wasn't weigh in later.

Groovee · 06/03/2017 15:26

I just want a freezer. On the 27th of Dec we realised our freezer was broken but it was actually the power supply. Haven't heard from the electrician with a quote yet.

LavenderRains · 06/03/2017 16:14

I'm jealous of the new fridge and fancy pants holidayGrin
Last year on holiday I looked like a hippo. Typically this year I am so far 3.8 stone down & we can't afford a holiday as we've just had a major refurb of the bathroom.
I shall swan around my garden in my bathing suit insteadGrin
sham you have a fair few weeks until the holiday, you will meet your target I reckon! You've now got added incentive.
Just realised I will have to Wi on wed eve instead of my usual morning so not sure what the scales will say!
Also had a text from consultant saying it's taster week again bloody hell & a competition to crown whoever has lost the most weight so far.
I'm cringing already!!

OrianaBanana · 06/03/2017 16:26

What does everyone bring for taster night? I was thinking of smoked salmon pate with veg sticks... again...

Frouby · 06/03/2017 16:28

Basin defrosting stuff then having a change of plan was the main reason I stopped using the butcher for most of my meat. I only trust it for 3 days in the fridge and the butchers is in town where I rarely go these days. So was spending about £40 a time to make it worth it but wasting far too much.

At least aldi is all uk meat and farm assured so I do feel like I am doing a bit to support British farmers. And it's all vac packed so it doesn't matter if you don't use it within a couple of days.

Sham, we are going away in august with another couple. She looks like Posh Spice. Really well groomed and turned out. Does 10k runs a few times a week and is very attractive. I on the other hand usually have horseshit down my nails, am never going to be skinny and well groomed for me is brushing my hair.

I am consoling.myself with the evil thought her false nails will.melt in the sun and the pool will play havoc with her hair extensions.

Groovee · 06/03/2017 16:30

I made houmous for the last taster.am doing carrot cake style baked oats and the haribo jellies.

ALemonyPea · 06/03/2017 16:43

Look at my beautiful strawberry roulade. Look at it! 2 syns for the whole bloody thing! Delisciousness. Wish I'd made 2 now as this one is for the taster tomorrow. I chopped the end off, for tasting purposes obviously. It might be lucky to let the night.

Shamoffour · 06/03/2017 17:31

Lemony that looks amazing! I've tried it before at a taster night it was really nice. I will look at the abs workout God knows I need it after the babies!Grin
Frouby I feel your pain I've only ever been away with another couple once and fortunately she was curvy like me! Not sure I could cope lying next to posh!
I've calmed down a bit now and I think it will motivate me (hopefully!)

B- mango, Greek yogurt, walnuts (half heb)
L-chicken and veg soup
D-chicken, chorizo and cannellini bean casserole(2) with green veg

Good day trying to make up for a seriously dodgy weekend!

ALemonyPea · 06/03/2017 17:35

Someone made it for the social team gathering I was at on Saturday. It's very nice, and surprisingly easy to make.

Roulade recipe:

4 eggs, separated
A tub of any Quark
1 tsp baking powder
2-3 drops of vanilla essence
3 tbsp of sweetener
whichever speed fruit you wish, I used strawberries

Preheat the oven to gas Mark 5/180 degrees
Whisk together half the tub of quark, egg yolks, baking powder, sweetener and vanilla essence.
Whisk egg whites until they form stiff white peaks then gently fold gently into the yolk mixture.
Line a rectangular oven tray with baking paper and spray with plenty of frylight.
Carefully pour the mixture so that it lines the tray evenly. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to stand for 4-5 minutes. Peel baking paper from the cake and allow to cool fully.
While cooling, mix the remainder of the quark with another drop of vanilla essence.
Spread the quark and fruit evenly over the cooled cake.
Gently roll up the cake into a roulade.
