A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Basin I often go for king prawn or chicken shashlick as it comes with griddled peppers, onions and tomatoes and a big salad, or spiced steamed fish is lovely too.

I'm hungry too today, but eaten loads, must be almost Star week!

B.....fruits and yoghurt
L.....parsnip soup with chicken fillets...yoghurt, tangerines

Basin - also if you do get a tandoori dish ask them to bring it out on a plate rather than sizzling - basically all they do Is slug a whole heap of oil on a hot platter and bung it on there for theatre - it's cooked in the kitchen

wonkylampshade · 05/01/2016 23:41

Well done everyone- today for my speed day I had:

Ham, egg and tomatoes

Ham salad

Chicken stew (loads of veg) and cauliflower rice.

I did have a twix too, which is a bit annoying, but the rest of the day was ok I think.

Drinks were tea and water.

wonkylampshade · 05/01/2016 23:42

Also had two apples and two clementines as snacks.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 06/01/2016 06:42

First weigh-in of 2016! I maintained. Was upset but then realised I've only been back on plan 2 days. Hopefully this time next week some of the Christmas weight will have gone!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 06/01/2016 06:44

Can I ask, what is a Speed Day? I've also heard of Green and Red Days? When I signed up I didn't hear anything about these, and there was no option for different plans, you just do whatever they say. I'm doing Extra Easy which has speed foods, is that to do with Speed Days - have I missed a big part of the plan?? Confused

calzone · 06/01/2016 07:34

Bendy......forget red and green days.....that's in the past!!

SP days are days when you only eat speed or protein foods. Look in your food optimising book. It will have s or p next to lots of foods.

The idea is to cut out carbs and eat these speedy foods for a better weightloss. There is a bit more to it but stick with extra easy for now and maybe we could all do some sp days next week.

I don't have the Food Optinising book, I am have a Bronze online subscription so didn't get any books. I do have a food list with all the S and Ps marked though. So I can do a day of just eating those (no healthy extras?). Cool! Thanks :)

Solina · 06/01/2016 08:21

You still get your healthy extras but you get one healthy extra a and 2 healthy extra b`s.

Read through all the online pdfs, it should be explained in there :)

Thanks for the takeaway tips! Something non-saucy then, and no breads or poppadoms. Got it.

Have a hospital appointment this morning so haven't had time to eat breakfast. Probably won't get back in time to bother which means I can have cheese on my salad at lunch instead of milk with breakfast. I'll have a few walnuts for my HEXB too.

Going to try not to have anything else apart from a piece of fruit or two until the takeaway.

Haven't really had any syns in he past couple of days so I'm hoping that will balance out the takeaway.

Can't believe I'm doing this 3 days into the diet!

ZylaB · 06/01/2016 09:09

Food for today will be.
B... 2x hifi light bars (hexb)
L... Cauliflower soup and a pear
Teatime snack when baby is eating...some fruit of some sort
D...jacket potato and bolognaise and lots of veg

Snacks.. Graze snack (7.5 syns), maybe a curly wurly later (6 syns)

backinschool · 06/01/2016 09:43

Basin - a chicken dhansak is only 6.5 syns. I often have that and cook my own rice and veg at home or order a plain boiled rice.

knowler · 06/01/2016 10:03

Morning all, today is going to be a challenge as I have one of my frequent lunchtime meetings at work where there are stacks of mayo filled sarnies everywhere. Best thing is just not to have any but this always provokes comments from the others. Feeling pretty determined this week tho so not going to blow it with a load of crap sandwiches.

B: coffee with HExA milk, Apple and banana
L: mugshot (free) and big salad (1 syn dressing)
Snacks: more fruit and hexb recitals with no fat cottage cheese
D: steamed fish with stir fry veg. Fat free yogurt (think free but maybe couple of syns).

knowler · 06/01/2016 10:03

Ryvitas not recitals!!

y0rkier0se · 06/01/2016 10:32

I always struggle with the portion size of cereal. Having my 35g branflakes as hex B for breakfast, and I poured out 42g accidentally then had to put the excess back in the box Shock lunch will be chicken in white pitta (7.5 syns) and tea is going to be boring but my favourite - chicken and peppers in soy sauce with homemade free egg fried rice.

BasinHaircut · 06/01/2016 10:33

Ohh thanks backinschool, don't think I've ever had a dhansak. Is that for a whole portion or half?

ThornyBird · 06/01/2016 11:55

Morning, I gained again but last night I made flapjack for the DC and scoffed most of it myself Blush

Going back to writing everything down, it shames me into not eating things if I write before I eat iyswim? Meals are usually ok, it's the shite I shovel in absentmindedly in between that it causing the problems.

Parrish · 06/01/2016 11:57

Hi Calzone Thanks for asking.

I suppose I find it all a bit bland. Not eating meat is a pain but I just can't start that again after almost 30 years (worked in meat factory). I miss the flavour that fat gives to a recipe. I truly hate any SW white/cheese sauce.

I also despair of trying so hard and doing 15k steps a day only to have one night out and blow the whole week. It takes so bloody long to get anywhere. To lose anything decent.

Also, I would love to stay to Image Therapy but my group is massive and it takes so so so so long and all that clapping and going round talking about your week's weight loss. Hate it. Weight watchers didn't do that and was better in that respect.

Sorry for the moaning!

emmaluvseeyore · 06/01/2016 12:05

Plan for today:
B: tomatoes, eggs, toast x 2 (HeB I believe but need to check what size loaf it was) and lemon squash
L: Chicken noodles & veg, babybel (1/2 HeA), apple
D: Chicken fried rice (1 syn)
Snacks: yoghurt (1 syn), babybel/other cheese (1/2 HeA), clementine, some form of chocolate

I really need to get all this Christmas chocolate out the house as I keep eating it! My family were great and didn't get us chocolate this year, but we got quite a bit as presents from my Brownies :(

I went to my first FitSteps class yesterday and loved it but I was knackered afterwards. Definitely going to go back :)

backinschool · 06/01/2016 12:15

Basin - it's for a 'typical' 350g portion. One Indian near us has quite small plastic tubs which are about 350g so I have the whole thing and it hasn't slowed my weight loss down. The other one we sometimes use has huge foil containers so I have half a portion (then reheat the other half for lunch the next day).

OrianaBanana · 06/01/2016 12:55

Hi Parrish,
Is there another group you could get to? Sounds like maybe that one doesn't suit you?

SylvDP · 06/01/2016 12:58

I thought it was time to join in the thread..I've been lurking about since I joined SW in November.
I weighed today and lost the 3lb I put on last week. In total I've lost 1stone 3lb in 9 weeks. I'm hoping to get my club 10 next week (only 1lb to go so should do that).
I started at 13.8 and would love to get to 9.7. I'm 5ft 4 with a huge bum and thighs!
This week should be easier as I'm back to work tomorrow after nearly a month of Christmas holidays, so back to routine and no temptations.
