A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Well done to all the losers Flowers
I have weigh in later but had some maltesers earlier Blush
Hopefully I will lose the Christmas pounds and stay within the target range. I have a feeling that maintaining will be harder for me than losing it all Hmm

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/01/2016 18:02

Yoghurt and fruit sounds like a plan for breakfast , will check out the syns in various ones . I think it is going to take me a while to get used to this . I rely a lot on shop bought soups or cup a soups which are higher in syns than I imagined .

Trottersindependenttraders · 05/01/2016 18:15

Thanks emwithme, no other syns today so happy with that.

Lunches get me too, I think left overs from the night before is the way forward for me.

calzone · 05/01/2016 18:22

Howlong.....are you on SYNS ALLOWED on FB?

It has lots of branded items with syn allowance on there. Tis brilliant.

Trotters - you can make coronation with fat free natural yoghurt too and it's lovely. I use about a third of a tub of fat free yoghurt and add curry powder, Garam masala, salt and pepper and a splash of lemon juice then mix in 3 to 4 shredded chicken breasts (depending on size) and that does 5 x lunches as topping on a JP. If you wanted it a bit thicker You could add 5tbsp of extra light mayo to make it 1 syn per portion and if you fancy it then a couple of tbsp of mango chutney will add another syn per portion and make it even better!

Chelsea26 · 05/01/2016 18:30

I had my overnight oats, soup, carrots and hummous again today and am about to have my slow cooker chilli which I have been excited about all day! Having it with rice with cheese (hex a), fat free yoghurt and diced red onions on top!

Yummer!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 05/01/2016 18:41

I have been soooo snacky today, argh!

B- fried eggs on marmite toast (HE), banana
L- jacket potato with beans and cheese (HE), salad, ham, yoghurt and options.
Snack - hammmmm
Dinner will be salmon fillet, boiled potatoes, veg.
Syns - 2 for options and about 4 for milk in teas and coffees.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 05/01/2016 18:41

Oh and I reeeeally wanted to make overnight oats but my scales' batteries have run out!!! Gutted.

WineAndIntrigue · 05/01/2016 18:46

Oooh, thanks em, Buttwing, maygirl and y0rkie for recommendations/burger analysis! Will add the meatballs to my list. I can also recommend the SW tomato soup!

In the interests of total honesty, I sacked off going to Iceland in the end in favour of Sainsburys - quarter pounder burgers are 5 syns and to be honest the weather here is so terrible I just wanted to get home! Will be having my burger with HexB wholemeal roll and potato wedges.

I read something today about SW only working if 1/3+ of each plateful of food is speed food - does anyone know if this is true? Or will it just work more slowly if you don't? I try and have as much fruit/veg as poss but I don't know if it's 'exactly' 1/3 - just wondered about others' experiences...

ZylaB · 05/01/2016 18:50

pis I've never been a healthy BMJ and I know 10st 7 is within healthy for 5'5'' My norks are massive so I don't know how I'd look at less than that (or even at that!). In my head I might drop my target if I'm still finding it ok losing when I get close, but I need to see how it's going. I can only dream of being 10stone or less!!

DesertIslandPenguin · 05/01/2016 19:06

Hello everyone!

I re-joined SW this morning and have rather a lot to lose, about 11 stone. On the bright side, it's the same as I was in October when I stopped going to group...

I'm going to focus on 7lb at a time, I think. I was going to make one of those sets of jars--pounds to lose and pounds lost but that just feels terribly demoralising at the moment!

B: overnight oats & strawberries
L: SW quiche, spiralised butternut squash
Snack: banana
D: SW BBQ pulled pork, sweet potato wedges, mixed veg.
Syns: aero mint bubble mousse thing (5.5), and whatever takes my fancy. Apparently I get 20 syns as I'm super-lardy.

DesertIslandPenguin · 05/01/2016 19:10

WineAndIntrigue My consultant did a new members talk to the whole group today (about a hundred people turned up--terrifying!) and said that SW would still work without the 1/3 plate speed but much more slowly.

I'm going to try to get along to Iceland for SW meals and maybe frozen fruit, too. Sainsbury's seem to have cut back their frozen fruit which is a pain as I loved their black cherries. (Proper sad those aren't speed!!)

overitalready · 05/01/2016 19:21

bendy do you have any frylight in? If you use the lid of the frylight that will give you the oats allowance for the day.

B - Banana

L - Mugshot, toast, yog, Apple, pear

D - Beef ragu with courgette spaghetti and grated mozzarella

S - Cadbury snack

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/01/2016 19:23

I am now calzone thank you . it looks really helpful , just what I needed , that's my evening sorted .

FannyFanakapan · 05/01/2016 19:25

b: Toast, 1 laughing cow (1.5), ham, eggs, cucmber
L: Quorn chilli and rice. 1tbs mango chutney (2). diced mango and muller light.
d: Sweet potato sw fries, remaining chilli, primula light (hex a). Muller.

sn: Tea x 6 (3s). smoked salmon slices.
plus one quality street (2.5).

9 syns total.

maygirl · 05/01/2016 19:33

Bendy I remember someone mentioning on here before, a frylight lid holds 30g of porridge oats! Have you got some frylight?

WineAndIntrigue · 05/01/2016 19:43

Ooh thank you Desert. In your consultant's honour I have just chopped an extra half packet of tomatoes and added an extra handful of spinach to my dinner! That's good to know though. I was actually eating an almost entirely vegetarian diet pre-SW, but have upped my meat intake as I've cut down on cheese and dairy. Please will you let us know how you get on with the ready meals from Iceland?!

maygirl · 05/01/2016 19:45

Has anyone seen ryvita minis anywhere recently?

Ledkr · 05/01/2016 19:46

Annoying about the saisburys fruit! I love their cherries too.
I got some from Aldi but I loathe the big fat blackberries in them, I have to spit them out as they have a horrid core!
I'm doing ok meal wise but keep stuffing it up with a few chocolates.
Still I am off sick so it's not typical abd Id normally not have any chocs lying about.
Having a lovely prawn curry and brown rice in a minute.
Lovely

I utterly loathe blackberries. I can barely get past the seeds in raspberries so blackberries are totally no-go territory for me.

I've tried a few of the Iceland SW meals before WineAndIntrigue. The chicken tikka masala is good and the sweet potato curry was good with an extra pinch of garam masala stirred through. Massive portion sizes. The pea and ham soup is supposed to be lush.

BasinHaircut · 05/01/2016 20:22

Loving the fry light lid porridge tip!

And the coronation chicken sounds amazing.

Just had my dinner, smoked fish fiord time thingy and it was LUSH.

Have just been informed that I have to go for an Indian takeaway tomorrow night because it's the last night here for family members from overseas. Any tips for what to have?

OrianaBanana · 05/01/2016 20:39

Tandoori chicken with plain rice? Or a more tomatoey based curry if you're having curry. Avoid poppadoms and naans. Smile

alleypalley · 05/01/2016 22:16

I lost 1lb at tonight's weigh in. Bit disappointed with that but I have struggled this week to get back on plan plus I drank far too much on NYE so really I'm happy it's not a gain.

Planning on doing a few SP days this week and hopefully I'll get the rest of my Christmas gain off.
