A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Oneowlgirl - I have a microwave egg poacher from Lakeland which I find good. Never been successful wth any other method!.

knowler · 16/01/2016 13:47

Oneowl - to poach eggs, I get a largish mug and a bit of cling film. Drape the cling film over the mug so there is a big dip into the middle of the mug. Crack egg into dip. Gather up sides of cling film and twist together at the top. Cook in boiling water for 5 mins. Lift out, undo cling film, perfect egg. I have them nearly every day for breakfast :)

blondiep14 · 16/01/2016 14:26

I liked it bendy, makes things seem achievable, really hope this summer I'm happy with my weight. Not trying to work out what to wear to cover up the bad bits and still get a tan BlushGrin

oneowlgirl · 16/01/2016 16:10

Thanks all - some new ways to try & if can't manage it, then Lakeland sounds like the place to go for a gadget!

ChessieFL · 16/01/2016 16:50

wowser you should still be making sure a third of all your meals is speed food even when you're using your healthy extras

Buttwing · 16/01/2016 17:09

I was doing so well! Then fil sent loads of chocolate over for the kids. Well obviously I had to check it was ok before I gave them some.

We are going for a curry tonight. I'm going to drive but going to rusholme and the currys are sooo good there!! Must be good, must be good, must be good.....

oneowlgirl · 16/01/2016 17:20

Curries aren't bad on SW - avoid things like kormas & naans & poppadoms & have plain rice & you can minimise the damage. Make sure to enjoy it!

annatha · 16/01/2016 17:36

That picture is great Blondie. I'm currently a 22 and would love to be down to an 18 by summer so I can shop in regular shops again and avoid the extortionate plus size prices and a pound a week seems doable.

First weigh in today and I've lost 5lb! Very pleasantly surprised.

Is the Fakeaway book worth having?

muminthecity · 16/01/2016 19:31

Hi, just wondered if I could join you please? I've had a read through the thread and found lots of good ideas! I first did slimming world almost 3 years ago and lost 6 stone. Unfortunately, I've put 2 stone back on over the past year Blush so I'm starting afresh.

I had my first weigh in on Thursday and lost 8.5lbs which I was delighted with!

My food today:

B - banana and satsuma
L - jacket potato with tuna, sweetcorn, extra light mayo and spinach - 2 syns for the mayo
D - one pot lasagne made on the hob - 2 syns plus HXA for the cheese with chargrilled courgette and asparagus

BasinHaircut · 16/01/2016 20:14

Just had the pastitso and OH MY GOD it is amazing. Couldn't even finish my portion I'm stuffed! And it tasted so cheesy and I've missed cheese!!!!!!

Glad there are leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Splitting the 2 remaining portions between 3 of us for lunch though so a more manageable portion.

Heyheyheygoodbye · 16/01/2016 20:51

B - bowl of chopped fruit and a muller
L - pasta salad with chicken, corn, red peppers and 6 syns of mayo
D - Big Mac in a Bowl! Soooo nice. With potato wedges. The cheese was hexa and 2 syns for the sauce. Couple more syns for ketchup. Grapes and another muller.

calzone · 16/01/2016 21:31

Bacon, eggs, tinned potato
Apple, pear, tangerines in Mullerlight

Glad you enjoyed the pastitsio basin - it's a game changer!

So...night away in Cornwall for us tonight. Today started so well...

B - 2 satsumas
L - packed for the journey - HexB wrap with chicken, lettuce, green peppers, a satsuma and some baby pickled onions

Then we got to the pub we're staying at. Half a pint of cider, and a ridiculously cheesy lasagne with garlic bread. I did have a big side salad with no dressing, though...

Tomorrow's another day. After the obligatory cooked breakfast, of course...

tabulahrasa · 16/01/2016 22:18

Fried eggs on toast, two coffees with milk. (A and b)

Apple, punnet of cherries.

Sausage, SW chips and veg (DP made dinner)

Skips (4) 3 kallo chocolate rice cakes (7.5)

I'm hungry now though, so I think I'm going to have a mugshot and fruit.

Buttwing · 16/01/2016 22:46

Well the curry was lovely!! Wasn't as good as I should have been but could have been a lot worse.

Saw the aftermath of a hit and run accident, awful awful awful.

The snow is really coming down here (cheshire) going to take the kids sledging in the morn if it's still here.

annatha · 16/01/2016 23:35

B- overnight oats
L- jacket with cottage cheese, ham, salad
D- SW chilli and cauliflower rice
S- 2 x HiFi bars, mullerlight, 2 x yoghurt rice cakes, grapes

Syns 9.5

blondiep14 · 17/01/2016 07:52

That sounds terrible Buttwing. Hope you're all ok Thanks

BasinHaircut · 17/01/2016 08:33

Second week weigh in today and I've lost another 3lbs, so that's 9lbs in 2 weeks!

DH only lost 1lb which I'm surprised about because he needs to lose much more than me and we have waten exactly the same (apart from j had a meal out on weds). ButI've heard that second week losses can be v small because your body is adjusting is that right? I don't think he has been cheating?

I'm hoping he will have a bigger loss next week but he has still lost 7lbs in 2 weeks and that is amazing.

I've got lots more yummy looking new dinners to try out this week. This 'diet' is also just the kick I needed to start cooking properly again too. We were in such a food rut before.

oneowlgirl · 17/01/2016 09:23

Well done Basin, they're brilliant losses. Likely your husband will have a big loss next week if he sticks to plan.

BasinHaircut · 17/01/2016 09:41

Thanks oneowlgirl, I hope so. He really does need to lose quite a bit and I don't want him to lose heart

ChessieFL · 17/01/2016 10:36

blondie I love the fakeaways book! The lamb rogan josh and Thai fish cakes are favourites.

Weighed in yesterday and lost half a lb. 5.5 lb to target and need to do it in 5 weeks (bought 6 week countdown yesterday and I'm determined not to pay any more after that!)

Solina · 17/01/2016 10:42

I have completely stopped doing the plan this week :( work stress and house hunting stress (we're renting and the current place is awful) has made me very tired and got me in the "I dont care" mood. I havent been too bad, not really had any chocolates or anything like that so I hope Im not going to have to start from beginning. I am going to have to force myself to be back on the track this week!

My first magazine arrived so maybe I will try few recipes from it this week.
