A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Yesterday -

B - just tea
L - babybels hexa, Pops 4 syns, satsumas
D - on the train so had a packet of lean ham with a pineapple and berry bowl
Syns - one small glass of horrible warm university department wine. Not worth it!!

OrianaBanana · 14/01/2016 13:04

2lbs off this week which I'm happy with - if I can get 2 off next week (unlikely after my breakfast on day 1 was a chocolate croissant...) then that will be my Xmas weight gone...Confused and back to square 1.

deli1976 · 14/01/2016 14:16

-1 for me today, yes im happy 8.5 in two weeks...happy thursday every1

emwithme · 14/01/2016 14:26

Well today was weigh-in day and I've stayed the same. Food was 100% on plan but it is (as DH says) Shark Week so to maintain is bloody fabulous (I usually gain up to 2 lbs). I'm really enthused though so another week of 100%.

Today:

Brekkie (post weigh in): Iceland meatballs, brekkie muffins, handful cherry tomatoes
Lunch: Mackerel salad. Yoghurt.

Dinner: Nandos! Having Butterfly chicken breast (3 syns), corn on the cob (free!), side salad (free!), and will probably share a spicy rice (2 syns for the whole portion) and some macho peas (3 for the whole portion). So even accounting for the half dozen chips that will inevitably make their way into me, I'm coming in at around 10 syns.

cowboylover · 14/01/2016 14:52

Congrats on the losses and maintains everyone! Weigh in is later this evening for me so interested to see. I am having an emotional day for other issues so anything could happen to be honest.

I have been sitting reading my recipe books getting ideas this afternoon for my shopping list and shopping tomorrow so whatever happens later I still have a plan.

I would really like to get my next award by the end of the month but we will see!

Akire · 14/01/2016 14:54

Thank you emmaluvseyore I am going try and not weigh myself ...

emwithme · 14/01/2016 15:24

I did make a change at IMAGE Therapy this week, though. I declined to set a weight loss target for next week. I find that I really struggle with the notion of "X" being good and "less than X" - even if it's a loss - being bad, so I said I would just stick to the plan and see what happened. I am trying to focus more on changing my eating habits, not what the scales show.

We'll see how it goes.

annatha · 14/01/2016 17:08

Its freezing here today and I'm craving chocolate. Experimented with 5 syns worth of dairy milk melted and stirred in 2 crushed weetabix hex b in the hope of lower syn crispy bun style snack. It didn't bind v well (not enough choc) so I ate the mixture and it was a delicious crunchy warm chococlatey treat. Really filling considering how much chocolate I'd usually eat. I've got awful willpower though- I was going to buy freddos to make crispy buns with but dh pointed out that it's cheaper to buy a big bar of dairy milk and weigh out the amount. Big bars were £2 or 2 for £3 so we got two to stock up... Well aside from the 20g used to make crispy buns yesterday dh ate the whole sodding bar and now I've opened the second one its looking too tempting so I've chucked it on top of the fridge where I can't reach! I'm best to just not have anything naughty in the house at all but nobody wants fruit and yoghurt when it's snowing outside.

BirdingWidow · 14/01/2016 17:40

Thanks for that recipe Emily, it's on the list! I bet it is quite nice even cold (no microwave facilities for leftovers at work, sadly).

Have been good today - banana and Allen light for breakfast. And hifi this afternoon, so hexb. Cheese omelette for lunch (hexa) - not a good effort on speed foods but nothing much in the fridge! Tonight I am having leftover squash and chorizo chilli, 5 syns, after group. Also had an apple and satsuma, and have some strawberries.

Hoping for at least 1.5lb tonight - won't be spectacular as I am not a new member

BirdingWidow · 14/01/2016 17:41

Alpen. I don't eat Allens

calzone · 14/01/2016 17:42

Annatha......I want snow......actually I want a snow day so I can stay in bed......where in the country are you?

OP posts:
JOEYDOESNTSHAREFOOD · 14/01/2016 17:58

I want a Chinese tonight. I've meal planned a chicken and mushroom pie, but I really want salt and pepper chicken and mushroom. Similar but SO NOT the same!

annatha · 14/01/2016 18:01

calzone you can have it I hate snow! I'm in County Durham, thankfully it hasn't settled but was coming down v fast earlier.

overitalready · 14/01/2016 19:05

B - pear

L - mugshot, banana, Apple, babybel and blueberries

D - Singapore noodles with chicken, prawns and loads of added mushrooms with salad

S - Cadbury snack

EmilyK83 · 14/01/2016 19:53

Starting to worry that I'm eating too much...the only syn here was for the lime and chilli pickle, the rice, SW curry and Heinz dhal (only half of each - bf had the other half) were all free. I'm worried that it's a massive plate of food though...please tell me I'm not the only one eating big meals? :-/

Muffintopmum · 14/01/2016 20:01

I'm eating big meals Emily. Only being doing this a week or so but lost 5 lbs first weigh in so I'm happy. I will drop my portion size if needs be but not whilst I'm losing😀.

B: Fruit and fibre, milk and OJ
L: Veg soup and yoghurt
D: Beef in red onion gravy with veg crush and green beans. Meringue, fruit and yoghurt.

Bit of a creature of habit with B and L.

tabulahrasa · 14/01/2016 20:06

Emily...really it should have a third speed, on your plate as extra to any in your food.

But I don't always do it and yep, I have pretty big dinners.

EmilyK83 · 14/01/2016 20:15

Thanks Muffin and tabulah - that's made me feel a bit better! Tabulah...I had a few satsumas afterwards as well, hoping that counts! I lost 4lb in my first week (weigh in on Tuesday's), so I guess next Tues will tell me if the portions are too big or not... :-/

Heyheyheygoodbye · 14/01/2016 20:24

Half a pound off. Felt I deserved a bit more really as I've been an angel all week but hey ho!

FoofFighter · 14/01/2016 21:07

Is anyone else on Instagram? I always take pics of my food and upload them to there, my name is loulaw73 if anyone wants a peek :) Let me know your names and I can follow you - we could even get our own group hastag thingy going :)

BIG meals - I eat big meals. I still lose weight. Win WIN!

Re missing yogurts on EESP days - you can have quark, and arla protein "yogs" which is flavoured quark.

I did 4 days of EESP days and lost 3.5lbs that week and was very happy. I wouldn't say I am a big carb eater now so found it easy esp with having two HEXB. Planning on a couple of EESP days each week now am fully back into it all after Xmas.

My food day has been very crappy due to things outwith my control!

B hexb 40g all bran, satsuma, apple, syn free yogurt
L the most disgusting baked potato beans and salad ever in Tesco cafe - slimy potato, cold beans and limp salad with some horrid dressing on, didn't eat most of it.
snack: two plums and a pear
T: cooked the lidl pulled beef and it was a solid lump of gristle that wouldn't pull
ffs
dug out a turkey beany chilli from the freezer instead, with stirfry veg - ran out of frylight so used 1tsp coconut oil 2 syns

Also: 1.5 syns semi milk, Alpen light 3, bowl of porridge made with water and a mullerlight 6 and will have an Options later 2 - 14.5 total

FoofFighter · 14/01/2016 21:11
