A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

I'm weighing in later I'm hoping to have lost as the last few days I've been 100% on plan.

I've made a hotpot with pickled red cabbage to have when I've weighed, the kids have just got back from school and all wanted to know what the yummy smell was so now I've got to shareAngrywas planning on giving them pasta and freezing the left over hotpot!!

It's really hard sticking to it when you've got little ones, if one of mine has had a bad night I really struggle to avoid the chocolate the next day. I've got four dc who are 10,5,2 and 1 and I find they definitely eat better now I'm doing slimming world but we get through mountains of fruit!!!

BasinHaircut · 13/01/2016 16:26

Has anyone else noticed they just feel better doing SW? Eating much healthier I've noticed that I don't fall asleep on the sofa anymore. I was awake at 11pm last night which is practically unheard of!

I am also getting out of bed a lot easier.

I know I've only been doing this for a week and a half but this is the first 'diet' that I feel like I could stick to. I don't feel hungry all the time and I'm not fantasising about food at all. I'm looking forward to my next healthy meal and planning more!

knowler · 13/01/2016 16:42

Agreed, Buttwing. without wanting to sound too advertorial, it isn't really a diet to my mind - just healthy eating. I'm eating better than I have for years. 7/8 portions of veg and fruit a day easily. My skin is brilliant and I'm not falling asleep on the sofa in the evenings. I still find it difficult to have an 'off switch' when it comes to chocolates, but having seen a few weeks' worth of results now, I've (mostly!) got the motivation to control myself, although it has to be a conscious effort.

knowler · 13/01/2016 16:42

sorry, that was to Basin

emmaluvseeyore · 13/01/2016 17:17

I feel so much better, but that is partly because I'm a lot lighter than I was! I'm a lot fitter and have way more energy, but I'm also sleeping much better at night (I don't have any DC though). I'm now doing 2 exercise classes a week (I hadn't really done any exercise since I left school 10 years ago) and I don't really ache at all the next day.

maygirl · 13/01/2016 17:26

Enjoy your date night Bendy, just being out for dinner will be lovely no matter what you choose to eat. Hope the plateau ends this week and you start losing again Flowers

oneowlgirl · 13/01/2016 18:42

I lost 3 1/2lb this week so very pleased as was badly off plan at the weekend. Loving all the recipes here so thank you. Going to go to the gym in a bit as need to keep up the momentum!

wowser3 · 13/01/2016 18:48

Well done oneowlgirl !
I'm on SW day 5. I've noticed a difference this week, my car ! It's cleaner , it's not full of crumbs and wrappers of sandwiches, crisps and other snacks, so I must be eating better!! I was a sucker from going to the shop before / after work and scoffing junk in the car.

Inspire me people. I'm stuck in a rut. 1 lb on this week but I am hormonal, I had a rubbish weekend of eating crap and I ate dinner before Weigh in as I was hungry and knew it'd take ages due to all the new people. Next week should be good though - not working which is where I succumb usually, and hopefully lots of time to exercise. I want to find some new foods to get excited about so looking for recommendations. I feel like I live on muller light, eggs, & ham, and lentils. I would love recommendations for other low syn yoghurts, low syn sausages, great recipes... I eat pretty much everything so suggest away....

Buttwing · 13/01/2016 21:35

Akire · 13/01/2016 22:24

First proper day on the plan! Did accidental eat the fat off bacon with cooked breakfast oops but not actually felt starving like I normally would. Helps that can eat bread pasta rice etc that's what normal miss on diet.

What sort of thing do you put in jacket potato I know beans or light mayo but do you just have to get used to it being really dry and not half pound butter on it?

wonkylampshade · 13/01/2016 22:35

Wibblewobble, I sometimes get into that same rut!

This week I've had steak with a noodle and raw veg salad dressed in loads of soy sauce, ginger and lime, free chicken curry with dhal (lentils, sorry!), and an omelette with lots of salad and wedges.

Other free and simple recipes I like are chilli, spaghetti blog and fish and chips.

calzone · 13/01/2016 22:46

Meals I have eaten this week.....

Turkey cauliflower sauce lasagne

Chicken ricey mash up
