A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Thanks for the tips! Used Total yog and frozen fruit, so the yoghurt might have been the issue. Going to stir it and have it tomorrow! :) thanks.

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 19:56

Rice Krispie cake tip is GENIUS!!!!!!

My DH will need these in a couple of weeks I think, when he gets bored of healthy eating.

Akire · 12/01/2016 20:03

Hey all I joined today! Thought would be easy be all jargon and quite confusing so far!

Have attempted shopping list for the morning hope got enough stuff for meals this could be great or an expensive mistake!

Aiming for under 10 syn a day in week one as have a disability so very limited movements and can't use arms for moving much so guess will count against me as presumes you do some sort of exercise?

Going read the threads now I have idea of what all jargon is :)

Solina · 12/01/2016 20:06

Lost a pound which is no surprise as I have had few bad days last week but this next week I will be focusing on the plan 100%
8 pounds lost in 2 weeks though so cant moan!

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 20:23

Swapped my green beans for dinner with spinach as had a bag of it on the turn and it was delicious.

Had about 4-5 syns worth of sweet chilli sauce and light mayo I reckon, so add that to the 7 for my syrupy porridge and that's the most syns I've had so far (12).

Having dinner out tomorrow and won't be able to accurately calculate syns etc but I've made a chicken salad (no dressing) for lunch and breakfast will be weetabix and skimmed milk so fingers crossed it won't throw me off too much if I try and pick what I think is the best.

emwithme · 12/01/2016 20:25

Fucking hell...why have I NEVER thought about making crispy cakes. annatha your DH is a genius.

Akire - I lost 5 stone 4/5 years ago doing NO exercise whatsoever. Kept 3 of it off until last year when a medication change and maltesers put another one back on. I am now back to my weight of 3 years ago (when I got married) doing minimal exercise.

I did all this eating between 10 and 15 syns a day (averaged over the week).

alleypalley · 12/01/2016 20:25

Haven't checked in for a few days, hope everyone is doing well sticking to plan. I had a very good week, but weekend was not so good, went over my syns on both days, quite a lot over on Saturday with quite a lot of alcohol. I managed to balance it out over the week though and have done some body magic everyday. I have lost 2.5lbs at tonight's weigh in. Happy with that, aiming for 3lbs this week.

FoofFighter · 12/01/2016 20:29

Thanks emwithme that's really helpful!

What's the best way to measure low fat spread not sure how easy it is to do a level spoonful

emwithme · 12/01/2016 21:24

What I did, Akire is took a level (measuring) spoonful, then spread it on bread and looked at how far it went, and used that as a reference. I do this every six months or so, just to "reset" my visual picture.

Akire · 12/01/2016 21:31

Great idea thanks :)

mumstaxi2 · 12/01/2016 21:35

Busy busy day that didn't quite go as planned - son locked himself out so had to come out of work to let him in and then later had to call breakdown when car battery failed..so quickest possible dinner

B - banana and fat free yoghurt
L - parsnip soup (homemade free) hex - 2 slices wholmeal bread
D - 2 x sausages (NuMe low fat -2) small jacket potato, swede, carrot, peas - gravy (bisto - 2)
175 ml red wine - 6 syns
Wasnt going to drink but we called into the pub at the end of a very cold dog walk. Pleased with myself for having just the one though - especially as both sons are out and no need to be at home.
Well done to all today's losers - keep up the good work everyone!

I was thinking about using hex b cereal Calzone but wasn't sure what would work best, maybe puffed wheat? Although I'm toying with the idea of bashing some weetabix up and stirring them into the chocolate.

Today:
B- weetabix, milk, banana, tea
L- bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans
Snack- toffee yoghurt with apple
D- SW chicken "fajitas" with rice, salad and cheese, chocolate rice cake
Late night snack- leek and potato soup, Muller light

Total syns 5. Felt greedy having the soup but wouldn't bat an eyelid at having say toast or crisps as a snack usually, and technically its a snack of veg and a bit of fromage frais.

calzone · 12/01/2016 23:38

Annatha.....what about shredding these?
