A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

That's still a lot but phew! Little squeeze of Mayo then.

I'm only using the syrup ones as I had them from before we started SW but I've only got 2 left so I'll bin them and just have normal porridge with a teaspoon of sugar from now on.

Thank you for looking that up for me.

Can anyone confirm whether alone light bars are still HEXB? Just googled and it seems they changed the recipe but then changed it back?

I only have an old book so not sure what the current situation is? I've got them for DH as he is too lazy to make any breakfast but don't want to let him have them if they aren't ok any more. I've also got the Aldi ones ....

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 16:12

Alpen, not alone!

OrianaBanana · 12/01/2016 16:23

Apparently they changed it back, do join Syns Allowed if you're on Facebook because it's brilliant for things like this! Smile

Blush

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 16:27

mangofizz · 12/01/2016 16:44

Its a good group, i've found a few recipe ideas when reading through the comments. Been a good day so far

B: Bacon and beans on toast (2 slices wholemeal for hexb)
L: crustless quiche (added red pepper, onion, mushroom and chicken)
D: Edamame bean stir fry with chicken - not sure whether to hve ordinary noodles or butternut squash ones

No syns so far, mght have a galaxy later

FoofFighter · 12/01/2016 16:58

Cauli sauce a hit, thank you! I added 15g half a hexa parmesan and it was nice, could take some more I think, only ever so slightly cauli-ish

OrianaBanana · 12/01/2016 17:06

Good day so far though I'll have maxed out my syns so I can't have any more today - let's see if I can stick at 15!

B - oat crisp (HExB) and milk (HExA), coffee, apple
L - Tesco sushi (big one - 4.5 syns), pear, diet pop
D - steak and SW chips, mustard (0.5), mushrooms, tomato and salad. Bliss yoghurt (4.5)

S - hifi bar (3) and portion of popcorn (2.5), chicken drumstick and smoked salmon, satsuma, grapes.

Little heavy on non-speed I notice - should I eat speed foods to make up the balance or just not have anything more??

FoofFighter · 12/01/2016 17:13

You've 7 there OB, not too bad. I aim for ten a day usually. Wouldn't ever eat them for the sake of it as thats not the point really, should be on your plate to limit rest of portion sizes :)

OrianaBanana · 12/01/2016 17:17

Thanks foof Smile

emwithme · 12/01/2016 17:53

I have come on. I am a Very Grumpy achy person right now. The kittens also keep standing on my boobs, which are very tender, so I'm squealing and then they're digging their pointies in which hurts even more!

Brekkie: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms. Tassimo latte (2.5 syns)
Treat: Krispy Kreme Original Glaze doughnut (11), latte (HEA)
Snack: Iceland meatballs, cherry tomatoes. Yoghurt.
Dinner: Pasta bolognaise
Snack: Hifi bars (HEB)

EmilyK83 · 12/01/2016 18:13

Thanks emmaluvs - I think it's the thing I'm most worried about!

Loving the weighted hula hoop misreading too! Grin

Bad day for me today, as I had weigh in and group, then immediately after had a 45 min bus journey to a work meeting - with lunch - that lasted all afternoon. So...

B - 2 satsumas

L - goats cheese and spinach quiche with salads. I chose salads with no dressing and left the crust of the quiche, but one of the salads did contain dried fruit, which I still ate. Wanted a jacket potato but they didn't have them today, booooo...

D - leftover SW chilli with jacket potato and salad

overitalready · 12/01/2016 18:20

B - Coffee and banana

L - Tuna and cheese toasted thin plus 2 boiled eggs

S - Apple

D -Chicken and bacon Pasta with s/w ready made tomato sauce with added peppers, courgettes and onion

S - Cadbury snack

Last run of week 2 on couch 2 5k this morning. Dreading week 3 but determined all the same

JOEYDOESNTSHAREFOOD · 12/01/2016 18:28

L- boodle carbonara leftovers

FannyFanakapan · 12/01/2016 18:42

joey, have something - thats what syns are for, or you will feel deprived! Failing that - fruit or FF yoghurt.

Heres me today:

B: fruit, ham slices.
L: butternut squash, leftover mince (1). Yoghurt.
d: egg fried rice (2) and salmon.
Sn: 1/2 hexB toast with marmite and tomato mid afternoon. Persimmon, 2 pears and an orange through the day.

JOEYDOESNTSHAREFOOD · 12/01/2016 18:46

I'm going to see what's in the tub of chocolate leftover from Christmas franny and see if anything takes my fancy. Just waiting for the DC to go to bed so I can enjoy in peace. 😃

I was craving chocolate earlier and dh made an excellent point- why not make rice crispy cakes? A freddo doesn't touch the sides usually but melt and add 25g of rice crispies and you get a considerable amount of cakes for 10 syns to sensibly portion or scoff. Use a caramel freddo and its 9.5.

calzone · 12/01/2016 19:42

Lol cowboy....SW baking is crap.

If SW can come up with main meals for us, why can't they manage a proper syn free chocolate cake?

My turkey mince cauliflower cheese lasagne was blummin lush tonight.
