A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

I'm following the guideline for the recipe so if its a 4 portion recipe I have one portion.

I feel like the recipes are a bit off though like the 1/4 lasagna I had last night would feed me twice over, I didn't finish it, but I made a soup and a portion barely came half way up the bowl.

I think the lasagna might be the issue to be honest. I never eat pasta its way too carby but people kept insisting it was free

maygirl · 12/01/2016 09:37

weshould have you got a lot to lose? I maintain a lot or lose just 0.5 pound but have about 1 stone to go . I can tell I have lost a bit more this week by halving my syns 😭 .Not something I really wanted to do but will see results at weigh in tomorrow.
I have avocado sometimes, have half at a time and comes in at between 4-6 syns. The other half is ok in fridge if I leave the stone in and wrap the empty skin round it and put in airtight pot. Had some for breakfast today, yummy!

WeShouldOpenABar · 12/01/2016 09:48

about a stone and a half maygirl, not loads but there's been so many epic first week loses it does get me down a bit that I didn't get the big push before the steady loss begins, I didn't even get the steady loss!

Sorry I'll stop moaning , I have DP on it but only for dinners and he lost 6 pounds so at least he'll look good in his wedding suit.

tabulahrasa · 12/01/2016 10:26

The portion sizes are a guide though, like any recipe - if it's too much for you, don't have a whole portion, you do need to be guided by your appetite.

Pasta is free, I've had rice or pasta every night this week and although I don't get weighed till tomorrow, my scales say I've lost 3 lb this week...I'm less than a stone over target as well, so it's not because I've got loads to lose.

blondiep14 · 12/01/2016 10:34

Club 10!!

knowler · 12/01/2016 10:52

Well done Blondie!! WI this morning and despite the wagamamas debacle Grin I've lost another 2lb. 1 stone and half a pound in total! V pleased and will be nice when I can start to see a physical difference. Clothes are slightly looser, but the only place I've really noticed the difference is that my swimming costume isn't such a hideous struggle to get into or out of!!

maygirl · 12/01/2016 10:56

I understand how you feel weshould, its hard to sit and listen to others having big losses and talking about having loads of syns when you know you have stuck to it and haven't lost weight. I just keep trying to tweak it to work for me and hoping I'll get there eventually and stay there! This is how I want to eat long term, and I feel good eating this way so sticking with it. Would be nice to win the slimmer of the week basket once though after all I've put in it lol!! Keep going and I'm sure you will see a difference next week .

blondiep14 · 12/01/2016 10:58

Well done knowler great stuff

EmilyK83 · 12/01/2016 11:09

Well done blondie!!

Thanks notenough, that's really helpful. I have a weighted hula hoop, planning on using that to try and tone my belly!

Just had my second weigh in...4lb off in my first week, happy with that!

blondiep14 · 12/01/2016 11:16

Well done emily that's brilliant!

I have a weighted hula hoop but I can't do it BlushGrin

EmilyK83 · 12/01/2016 11:21

Thanks blondie!

Stick with it...I couldn't do it at first, but found a video on YouTube and that really helped! Gave me massive bruises first time I did it...and I've not done it for a while so it probably will do again...but you get used to it!

blondiep14 · 12/01/2016 12:39

Ok, I love the idea of it so shall dust it off and try again! Will look on YouTube too. Thanks

Buttwing · 12/01/2016 12:43

Well done all the losers!!

I've had really mixed week, being 100%on plan one day and then eating a mountain of chocolate the next! God knows what the scales will show tomorrow night I wouldn't be surprised at a gain. I'm really loving edamame beans at the moment not a sentence I thought I'd ever write! I feel a bit stuck in a rut with it all at the moment. We've had no proper image therapy for the last few weeks so I'm quite looking forward to it being back to normal this week, hopefully I will get some inspirationSmile

Buttwing · 12/01/2016 12:43

Oops too many "at the moments" Blush

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 14:03

I have just resisted some chocolate buttons as even though there are only a few left in a bag I had before Xmas, it would have been 6.5 Syns! Not worth it!

I had golden syrup instant oats (the Aldi ones) this morning so I'm guessing I should counts syns for those. Anyone know what they are and can I just count as HEXB and add some syns? Or do I have to syn it all?

Want some sweet chilli dipping sauce and mayo on my salmon tonight so want to save syns for that.

Pisghetti · 12/01/2016 14:06

I thought I was just having some hungry days. Turns out I'm having a hungry week Confused

B - overnight oats HeB
S - 3 x Babybel lights HeA, Apple, 2 x hifi bars HeB
L - homemade Bombay potatoes
S - banana
D - my mum is making dinner so probably a veggie burger (6 Syns) with a baked potato and steamed veg.

MarjorieWinklepicker · 12/01/2016 14:23

I made the magic pancakes for breakfast this morning, and wow they were a lot nicer than I thought they were going to be. Would definitely make them again. I had that with some berries and half a banana (shared with dd2).

For lunch I had bacon, poached egg, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans.

I'm making chilli for dinner so will have that with rice and cheese on top for HEA.

Haven't had any syns yet but will probably have a highlights hot chocolate for 2 but unsure about the rest. Guess it depends what I fancy.

mutley1 · 12/01/2016 14:23

Can someone explain overnight oats to me please!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 12/01/2016 15:10

I was soooooo excited about trying overnight oats this morning but they were dry as a bone and not soaked at all! My fave breakfast ever is a big bowl of bircher, so I was so disappointed. How can I possibly have done it wrong??? Confused

emmaluvseeyore · 12/01/2016 15:23

Emilyk I've lost over 3 stones now and I currently don't have any loose skin, but I'm still a size 20-22. I initially lost most of my weight off my boobs and now my body is catching up. I haven't got any money to buy new bras at the moment, but I reckon I must be down at least 2 cup sizes (I was a 42DD, and I reckon I'm probably a 38/40C now, but that's a guess).

Heyheyheygoodbye · 12/01/2016 15:25

Bendy try stirring them together instead of layering Smile

ChessieFL · 12/01/2016 15:26

What sort of yoghurt did you use? I find you need something runny like a mullerlight. Also, I found you need to mix the oats with the yoghurt or some of them stayed dry. Topping with frozen fruit helps as you get the juice as they defrost.

OrianaBanana · 12/01/2016 15:34

Basin I don't think it has enough fibre to be a HExB - see screenshot from Syns Allowed, looks like you'll have to syn them Shock

BasinHaircut · 12/01/2016 15:43

Oh no! 11.5!!!! I thought it was just porridge oats with a bit of syrup. Fool me for not checking. What about the plain ones?

It's not that pot though, just a little sachet that you add milk to. Does that make a difference?

No mayo for me tonight then Grin

ive got a HEXB to use now though. Hmmmmmmmmm

OrianaBanana · 12/01/2016 15:57

Think that's just 7 then, you can have your Mayo! Grin
