A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Oops! That should say I feel like I've wee'd out half my body weight!!

emmaluvseeyore · 11/01/2016 07:14

First weigh in where I've actually been on plan for the majority of the week (although I've still been eating up the Christmas chocolate). Lost 2.2 kg (almost 5 lbs) and got my 21 kg award :D

wonkylampshade · 11/01/2016 07:22

See you've been experiencing the same drinkyourmilk, hopefully it's a good sign and we will be losing lots of pounds Grin.

Today I am planning to have heb toast with a fried egg, then I'm going to my weigh in. I'm having coffee with a friend, then I have to head to the shops before coming home again. I need lunch to be very quick and easy as haven't preprepared anything. Possibly something like ham omelette with my hea of cheese. Dinner is easy as I made a vat of lemony dhal last night, and a whopping chicken curry with lots of veg, so that's covered.

Well done everyone for your losses, and welcome to the newbies! I love this thread as its full of great ideas. I can suffer from lack of imagination where food is concerned, so I really enjoy reading through everyone else's meal choices.

This week I'm planning to try calzone's sw white sauce in a lasagne. I'll also make some sw quiches and stick in the freezer so I have some decent snacks at the ready. I gained 5.5 lbs over Christmas and new year, so hoping I have at least managed to chip some of it away this week. I've been sticking to sp foods but I have had some syns too, and a bad day on Thursday. We shall see!

wonkylampshade · 11/01/2016 07:23

Wow, 5lbs! Well done Emma, that's great.

calzone · 11/01/2016 07:36

Well done Emma. A great loss.

I think a lot of us get bored in the evening and need things to do. I tend to go for a bath, paint my toes, straighten my hair or do some colouring. I have a selection of nice books and lovely pens which keep me occupied.

Congratulations on all of the losses this morning!

I've just weighed myself and I'm 11st 9lbs. That's a 6lb loss!

I'm celebrating with a teaspoon of sugar in my porridge, but I will syn it Grin

Wibblewobble100 · 11/01/2016 08:48

Arghhh ive had a disaster out weekend, soooo much temptation at work, must try harder next few days. Period also due so expecting a gain 😟

drinkyourmilk · 11/01/2016 09:16

Congratulations to all those who have had losses this week. My weigh in isn't till Thursday so I've 3 days to make up for Friday night (3× creme eggs!). Never going to the shop again after 2 (syned ) glasses of wine. Fatal

OrianaBanana · 11/01/2016 09:20

SPing today

B - Caramel hifi (HExB1), apple, coffee (HExA)
L - pea and ham soup (includes onion, carrot, garlic), wholemeal thin (HExB2), sugar free fizzy orange
D - not sure maybe smoked salmon salad, lots of speed veg

S - pear, satsuma, possibly cadburys snack (5) or pops (4) but hopefully not both after yesterday Blush

emmaluvseeyore · 11/01/2016 09:31

Thanks everyone :) I think FitSteps must have helped a lot as I ate so much chocolate over the weekend. I stupidly took a box of Celebrations with me when I babysat on Saturday, and I ended up eating half a box. I should have just taken a handful! I also met with my team of leaders at Brownies last night, so we ate our way through a huge box of Thorntons we were given as a present at Christmas.

I just hope I don't gain any of the loss back this week.

knowler · 11/01/2016 09:32

I was so confident this week, but have really struggled. Went to Wagamama's at the weekend and made what i thought were sensible choices (veg noodles in miso soup broth and stir fried greens) and was stunned at the enormous syn value when I got home. plus I've now got my period which doesn't seem to be helping things and I think I've actually gained despite being mostly on plan.

weigh in tomorrow, but feeling dispirited.

emmaluvseeyore · 11/01/2016 09:42

Chin up knowler. It is quite scary how many syns are in Wagamamas dishes. We only go there once in a while now. If you've gained, it doesn't really matter. There's always next week! I always gain when I'm on my period, but I know I'll lose the next week.

knowler · 11/01/2016 09:51

Gutted about wagamamas! I love it and thought it would be great syns-wise. Live and learn though - Nandos next time :)

BasinHaircut · 11/01/2016 10:30

I'd have thought wagamama was a good choice too knowler.

Does anyone know what's the best place to go (popular restaurant chain-wise) for SW?

FoofFighter · 11/01/2016 10:34

Hello all, may I join you please?

I've been doing SW (for the 3rd or 4th time....) for a couple of months.

I had a gain of at least 6lbs over Xmas but couldn't make official wi so weighed at Boots. Anyway got back to SW on Sat and I lost 4.5lbs last week (although still obvs showing as a gain on their records!)

So today:

HexB porridge made with water, mixed spice, salt, sweetener and a grated apple thrown in at the end
Made a pot of beetroot, lentil and tomato soup for lunch, followed by yogurt and fruit
Tea is chinese chicken and (exotic!) mushroom curry with cauli rice - will syn the sauce when have looked it up think it's 4 though

Supper, finn crisp 6 syns, HEXa Philly light, pickles

EmilyK83 · 11/01/2016 10:50

Hello, can I join you lovely ladies please? Smile Joined SW for the first time last Tues, so first weigh in tomorrow...eeeek!! Been enjoying reading through this thread, some amazing losses and great motivation!

Yesterday's food:

B - HexB toast with Marmite, satsuma
L - leftover SW egg fried rice and stir fried veg with soy sauce
D - pastitsio with salad, Muller light

Syns - 3 segments of Terry's Choc Orange (7.5)

I have tons of Christmas choc to get through, so I'm saving my Syns for a bit at a time! Don't want to waste it 😃

Started at 14 stone 9 last week, I'm 5'6 so far too heavy! I'm a food writer, hence putting on so much weight in the last few years. Target of 10 stone - partly just to feel generally healthy, partly as me and dp will be ttc in a few years and want to be in optimum condition first!

EmilyK83 · 11/01/2016 10:51

(pastitsio included HexA cheese allowance Smile)

Nyancat · 11/01/2016 11:03

Can I join as well please. I've been lurking for the last week while following the plan and weighed myself this morning, lost 6lbs. Was doing well most of the week until Friday when we went to a friends for dinner and everything was fried or duck, massive dessert and a couple of glasses of wine thrown in.
Today I've had 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, planning chicken salad for lunch and using my syns for yummy lentil and chorizo soup I made yesterday. Using almond milk for my coffees, of which there are many!
Need to really up my water intake this week.
I can't make it to classes with kids and dh's working hours so hoping you ladies can keep me on track. I'm due back at work soon after maternity leave so need to shift some weight before I go back!

giraffesarefab · 11/01/2016 11:11

I think I'm doing OK but stupidly weighed myself this morning (weighed myself before joining on thurs) and it was the same as the sw scales, and it's showing a 1lb loss Sad
Surely that can't be right? I'm on the pill so no period, drinking shit loads of water, peeing like a racehorse, completely changed the way I eat, weighing everything, counting syns religiously -for 1lb?

I'll be honest, ill absolutely gutted if I haven't lost a bit more by thurs.
Feeling deflated.

BasinHaircut · 11/01/2016 11:17

giraffe, on Friday the scams said DH had lost 0.5lbs since Monday, by Sunday it was 6lbs!

I think it doesn't always come off evenly throughout the week.

Maybe do a couple of sp days to make sure?

FoofFighter · 11/01/2016 11:21

Totally agree with Basin there, weight doesn't come off at say 0.5lb a day, it'll come off when it wants :) hang in there and you'll get a nice loss. Also stay away from scales as much as you can

emmaluvseeyore · 11/01/2016 11:22

Don't weigh mid week as it won't show your true weight loss. We fluctuate a lot. Don't be disheartened!

MarjorieWinklepicker · 11/01/2016 11:23

I started SW last week, weigh in today and lost 6lbs! DH has been doing it with me at home and he has lost 4lbs too so feeling pretty good about that.

I have done SW before but never kept it up for longer than a couple of weeks. This time I feel determined and really confident that I can stick to it.

giraffesarefab · 11/01/2016 11:43

Thank you, I'll try.
Leader told us newbies not to do sp days as we won't need it! Yeah right!
I'll look at doing one tomorrow.

Welliesandwings · 11/01/2016 12:11

I use 1 syn for my milk in my tea throughout the day. 8.5 syns for a Wispa bar from a multipack which I save until the evening when the kids have gone to bed and I'll have that with a cup of tea.
