A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Lucky you Calzone - a curly wurly was what I really wanted this evening. After so much fruit and veg today and no syns I desperately wanted something sweet. Chocolate mini roll was all there was - I must make sure I have some sweet treats in for days like this when I have syns left.

Muffintopmum · 10/01/2016 21:03

Really enjoying this 'diet'. Don't feel hungry at all and have stuck to plan and not gone over Syns apart from today. Had a couple of hot cross buns at lunchtime - I know it's early but we love them! Didn't realise how many Syns they were - that will teach me not to check them before I buy! First official weigh in tomoz. Had a sneaky peek this morning and it's looking good! 😃😃

calzone · 10/01/2016 21:09

What do you all like to use syns for?

Curly wurly 6 syns
Graze boxes are good as if you choose the light options, they are calorie counted for you. I had mango, coconut and mango yesterday for 5 syns.
Dark kitkat 5 syns
Freddo 5 syns

Wondering if anyone has tried the Morrisons NuMe 50% less fat sausages? If so would they pass as " normal " ones. I just read a review elsewhere that said they tasted terrible. I was going to give to the while family tomorrow night but if they're that bad I'll get some others for the DH and DC's who are always on alert for "dodgy" SW foods!!

maygirl · 10/01/2016 21:17

calzone · 10/01/2016 21:22

Just checking in... Kicking myself for starting on a Sunday, not the best day to weigh! But despite a bit of a naughty day yesterday (cider, chocolate, wine, didn't count syns) I lost 3lbs in my first week.

I haven't felt hungry at all, but it has made me realise how often I used to reach for bread or crackers or sweets whenever I felt peckish.

Feeling really focussed for the week ahead!

mangofizz · 10/01/2016 21:37

Im going to be using mine for pure crap mainly, i've been pretty good this weekend using them on avocados! (and the bad cider) I dont feel the need to use them for meals really, the free food is plenty and I quite like bland food so it works well for me

I hear space raiders are only 3 syns a bag, they would be a lovely treat for me.

mangofizz · 10/01/2016 21:38

I havent mumstaxi but I have had the iceland slimming world ones this week and they are quite nice but certainly lack the fat, they are so dense!

OrianaBanana · 10/01/2016 21:46

I use my syns on
Pops
Puft
Cadburys snack Wink
Muller bliss Greek yoghurts
Also olives

KittyOShea · 10/01/2016 21:49

I use my syns on
1 sugar in tea/ coffee- just the morning ones
Hi fi bars
Real butter if I have bread/ toast
Sometimes light mayo with lunch
Wine/ gin

maygirl · 10/01/2016 21:53

shmangled how about you just get the chips, DH gets his kebab and you add light mayo and a pre-weighed portion of cheese at home? There's one brand of Pitta and a couple of wraps that can be used as heB. I've used the wraps, they are a bit weird cold, not nice and soft like regular ones, but heated up in microwave they become nice.
Not tried those sausages either mumstaxi.

mango I sometimes have a wine spritzer with soda water or diet lemonade if they have it .Or if not drinking will have plain slimline tonic, bitter lemon or ginger ale as I like them more than sweeter soft drinks and looks like a proper drink so I can pretend to myself! But they are tiny bottles so don't last . If drinking have a very low tipping point after which I totally forget to count my pre allotted syns Blush

SecretRed · 10/01/2016 21:56

I've been following the plan perfectly all week and it's my first weigh in tomorrow morning. So why have I just had a massive binge? Chocolate, cheese & crackers and crisp all consumed in about half an hour.
Time to give myself a mental slap I think. Sad

cowboylover · 10/01/2016 21:58

B; Full cooked and was delicious
L; Finished off the Pea and Ham soup and still really enjoyed so will be making again
D; Sausage casserole from the SW Magazine this month

Got my overnight oats ready for my break at work tomorrow and made some Leek and Potato soup for work this week.

Still not drank enough water today and no Syns but now I have realised that I am seriously considering some chocolates

calzone · 10/01/2016 22:12

Cowboy.....have a drink of water and go to bed!!!!

drinkyourmilk · 10/01/2016 22:12

I've only been following the plan 3 days and I pee for Britain. Please tell me this is normal!

notenoughbottle · 10/01/2016 22:12

Joining this thread because I need s massive kick up the backside! I originally joined sw in April 2014 weighing 13 3 and a size 20. I reached my target weight of 10 stone and a size 12 in December of that year. However I have since yo yo'd between that and 11 3. Over Christmas we've had some bad family news and my daughter has been extremely ill this week leaving me able to consume nothing but takeaway deliveries and chocolate Confused Im guessing my weight to be around 12 stone now and I'm busting out of a size 14 again. My aim is to get back down to 10 stone so another loss of maybe 2 stone (sounds depressing...) I'm veggie too so always followed the green plan before EE took over and won't be going back to group as can't find one that suits my available times as I'm a single parent to three and evening babysitters are non existent! Good luck to everyone, I can prove its possible I just fell off the wagon in a big way!

emwithme · 10/01/2016 22:23

Brunch: Bacon, omelette, baked beans, mushrooms. Tassimo cappuccino (2.5 syns)
Snack: Iceland meatballs, HEA cheese, cherry tomatoes. Big bowl of mixed berries and greek yoghurt.
Dinner: Roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkie puddings (6 syns), kale, cauliflower, broccoli, baby carrots. Gravy (prob 10 syns, but it's worth it for proper gravy made with meat juices and wine). Horseradish sauce (2)
Satsumas, plums.
Bedtime snack: Hifi bars (HEB).

I'm due on any time so may not show the loss this week on the scales.

calzone · 10/01/2016 22:35

Notenoughbottle....welcome to the thread......

We are very supportive here and I get my big stick out to beat y'all with when I think you are messing about.... :)

OP posts:
tabulahrasa · 10/01/2016 23:14

Breakfast - quorn bacon sandwich and two coffees, b choice, a choice and 2 syns for tomato sauce and butter.

Lunch - quorn sausage, beans and egg (no veg because I need to go shopping) and an apple.

Dinner, SW sweet potato curry ready meal, rice and broccoli and cauliflower.

So 13 syns left and I am just about to go rummage to see what I have, I'm assuming snaps and kinder bars tbh.

I'll sit and eat them as I've still got prep to do for work tomorrow.

notenoughbottle · 11/01/2016 01:00

Thank You calzone! I think beating with a big stick may be what I need St around 8pm each evening Blush

Howlongtillbedtime · 11/01/2016 06:52

wonkylampshade · 11/01/2016 06:55

Weigh in today for me, I've had a good few days of dhal, chicken breast, salads and bacon/eggs. One thing I've really noticed this week is that I've been needing the loo far more often- I feel like I've wee

Actually feeing a bit nervous after my big gain over the Christmas break!

Not sure whether to go to the morning session or wait till tonight!
