A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

May they aren't good. And I feel like shit. But I just feel "what's the point of eating if I'm not hungry?" Sort of mentality.
Which I don't think is good either. Then when I start to eat I can't stop.

FeedMyFaceWithJaffaCakes · 09/01/2016 19:26

Fanny where do they sell those muller yoga? Caramel and peanut YUM.

maygirl · 09/01/2016 19:32

Feedmyface I think that's where this plan could come in, once hunger does strike and you have that uncontrollable urge to eat loads, eat loads of delicious free foods without guilt . Get some foods ready that you like and that are on plan , check out the syns of some of your favourite cakes and chocolate buy those that you can have and still stay on plan . Stay hydrated whether feel thirsty or not!

Heyheyheygoodbye · 09/01/2016 19:57

B - baked oats hexb one syn for cooked raspberries. Milk hexa.
L - tuna with quark and celery. Pops 4 syns, pickled onions. Apple and clementine.
D - SW spag bol with loads of speed in. A Muller light and 6 syns worth of fruit pastilles.

BasinHaircut · 09/01/2016 20:09

B - weetabix and skimmed milk HEA&B

L - bacon with fat off, plain scrambled eggs, baked beans and mushrooms cooked with fry light

D - steak, stir fry veg, egg noodles and hoisin sauce (5syns).

No fruit again today which I need to try and sort out. Need to eat a bit more super free food.

feedmyface I'm new to SW but in general I think you probably need to look at your eating habits in general first. You shouldn't binge and starve. If you eat regularly you might find you stop binging. I think SW is great for sorting out the TYPE of food you are eating though.

annatha · 09/01/2016 20:14

First day went well! I've eaten loads today and (so far...) I've only used 3 syns. In a bit confused though- so I can eat as much free food as I like, so theoretically I can shovel ham into my face all day?

Today I've had-

B- bacon (fat trimmed off), mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, beans

L- weetabix with ss milk, tea (hexa and b)

D- jacket potato, sw mushroom and bean mix on top, cheese (I can have 5 hexs as I'm bf)

Snacks- 2 rice cakes, cottage cheese, ham, glass skimmed milk (3rd hex a)

I'm stuffed. And I've still got a spare hex a and 12 syns left apparently. Probably will have something with dh when he gets home from work so I'll try and save my syns for then most nights. Obviously the better I eat, the more I'll loose each week (although I don't want to go too extreme incase my milk supply is affected) but really doesn't feel like the first day of a diet, its the most I've eaten in ages.

Buttwing · 09/01/2016 20:22

I've had two really good days (since weds weigh in) and I had a peek at the scales and I've put a pound onConfused
So I've decided to keep a food diary as when I've sat and really thought about the last couple of days I've had a few too many little tastes of naughty things which I haven't counted!

B-mango

L-baked potato with ham and beans

D-chicken madras and cauli rice

Hea skimmed milk
Heb two hifis

Snacks-banana,2 nectarines,grapes and melon

Syns-mini milky bar thingy(3.5) poppadom (2)

Buttwing · 09/01/2016 20:23

Annatha our consultant says eat until your full and try not to eat just because you can. If you are hungry you should have it but you shouldn't really eat until you are stuffed to bursting like I usually amblush]

calzone · 09/01/2016 20:25

The peanut Mullerlight are in Tesco......not sure if I like them or not.....

Brunch: Bacon, scrambled eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes. 2 x cappuccino (2 x 2.5 syns)
Snack: Cheese (HEA), Iceland meatballs, cherry tomatoes. Plums. Hifi bars (HEB)
Dinner: Salmon fillets, kale, cauliflower, carrot, runner beans.

Snack: Hifi bars (HEB)

Had 4 McDonalds fries earlier that bloody chip tax will get my every time but I'm not counting anything for them today!

giraffesarefab · 09/01/2016 21:34

Hi everyone, newbie here! Joined on Thursday to a very lovely group and I'm enjoying it so far, I think. Am slightly limited by not having a gallbladder so nothing oily (not a problem) or nothing acidic (slight problem) so not grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi, apple, strawberries or oranges!
I can have melon, grapes, bananas, clementines but only 2 a day, and pears.

Hope I've understood everything and I'm doing it right. We'll see on Thurs!

tabulahrasa · 09/01/2016 21:42

Today...

Breakfast - poached eggs on toast (b choice) and coffees with skimmed milk (a choice)

Lunch - butternut squash and chillie soup, it's a prepared veg pack from sainsbury's, it was nice and took 20 minutes to make.

Dinner - tomato, peppers and quorn pasta.

Snacks, muller light apple strudel with raspberries, tomato snaps (3syns) 30 jelly beans (6 syns) and 12 mikado (6 syns)

Welliesandwings · 09/01/2016 21:45

Hello, I've signed up online as we don't have a group where I live. I have approx 6 1/2 stone to lose and have been lurking on this thread for a little while. I'm four days in and doing ok so far (I think).

AtSea1979 · 09/01/2016 21:56

annatha yes your can eat all that ham because it's preferable to chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc. It's all about swapping the crap for good stuff.

drinkyourmilk · 09/01/2016 22:39

It's my first day today. I've stuck to the plan and eaten lots of speed foods, but eaten far too much and feel very full. Will do better tomorrow

Pisghetti · 09/01/2016 22:46

There's probably only so much ham you can eat before feeling full too.

I asked the question about synned yogurts on SP in group. My consultant just said it could affect weight loss. Thinking about it though... If you eat a Muller light (for example) that is 0.5 or 1 Syn, then that is 10-20 calories ish so the calculation includes the free yogurt plus whatever is synned. Otherwise it'd be around 5 Syns approx. I guess a full fat yogurt wouldn't have the free food allowance built in and so could be eaten within your Syn allowance though.

Not the best day.... Today for me has been:
B - Wm toast HeB, eggs, spinach
S - sugar free baklava, chocolate from a dairy milk box (had a munchy moment Blush) hifi bar
L - ikea veggie meatballs with pumpkin and soya bean jambalaya
D - homemade quorn and vegetable jalfrezi, boiled rice and a mini naan plus a cider.

Could have been worse! Could have had chips in ikea or apple pie like DP.

MostGhostsAreMad · 09/01/2016 23:41

Today I have had:-

Breakfast: Tea with skimmed milk (HEA), porridge (HEB), raspberries

Lunch: SW quiche made with eggs, low fat cottage cheese, peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgettes and tomatoes; apple

Coffee with milk from allowance

Dinner: Prawn curry with peppers and mange tout

Syns: Tesco hot chocolate (2 syns); Muller Light Chocolate Fix (5 syns)

MostGhostsAreMad · 09/01/2016 23:45

Hello Wellies, I'm an online member too. So far I've lost 3 stones with about 10 lbs to go. Good luck Flowers

y0rkier0se · 10/01/2016 00:00

I've had a mixed day. Breakfast was hex B branflakes, lunch was out so ordered a jacket with cheese and beans (there was a lot of cheese though so probably hex a + 6 syns) but then tea was chicken donner on naan from the Indian with chips and Bhajis. But I ate modestly which is something I always struggle with - I only ate half the naan, one Bhaji, a handful of chips and the chicken and stopped when I felt full rather than trying to finish it all, didn't have cake later like everyone else did - had a yoghurt instead, and did 12,000 steps today. So a mixed day overall!

SuperCee7 · 10/01/2016 00:04

First ever post on mumsnet.... Hello everyone 😊

I did slimming world around 8 years ago and lost 3.5 stone. I left. I put it back on.. S**t happened and I'm giving it another go!!

So, I'm a newbie again. Joined on Tuesday evening so happy day 4 - it's going good I think. I wanted to join a forum to help me along... This thread caught my eye so.... Here I am x

annatha · 10/01/2016 00:43

Excellent news on the ham front. I stayed full after that delicious jacket potato and dh has read through my books and decided he's happy to eat sw meals too not that he had a choice

Schmangled · 10/01/2016 00:48

Supercee, when i was a ,ener years ago I used to have a 'night off' after weigh-in, go home and eat what I wanted - just for dinner that night then back to being good for the rest of the week. Does this still happen?

What do you all do - a day / night off / takeaway after weigh in?

I keep thinking of 'naughty food' - a 'proper pizza', a cheesy chips, nachos (cheese is my thing). I think 'ooh I'll save that for night off... Hold on, do I get one? Please? 😇😊

Schmangled · 10/01/2016 00:51

Hi overit, and all the best for plan, run and wedding!! 2016 is set to be a good'un! x
