There are lots of SW posts which I love reading but was finding it difficult to remember where to post my weigh in and menus for the day.

Hope no one minds me doing this......Smile

I am Calzone and I am 5ft 6'. I joined SW last week and weighed in at 14st 3lbs.
I am doing Dry January and think I have been pretty good this week with my food choices.....

Food today
B......fruit/tea with sk milk
L...2 bread, beans, 2 eggs
D....DH is doing Lebanese and promises it is SW friendly.Smile

So, if you want to do the same.....post and share, otherwise this will be my SW experience.SmileSmile

I just ate ANgel Hair pasta with crab, parsley and chilli. Very nice, except, like all SW recipes, it was missing something. A good slug of olive oil and some parmesan maybe!!

annielostit · 12/05/2015 14:05

Fanny, could you split your hex a for a bit of parmasen. I use 1% fat milk so I can have 150mls of that & 15g if cheese if needed. I know what you mean about recipes missing something.

Well to day was weigh in, 3lb off. Smile. Very happy with that!

B- egg sw sausage ( yuck) & bacon plus ½ hex b, wm bread.
L- salmon & chilli fishcakes, made baby ones to nibble on also, asda ranch salad mix no dressing. ½ hex b.
D- steak & veg pie, sw recipe. Mashed potatoes & green beans. 7 syns.they smell yummy.

S- sw quiche slice, yogurt 0% & pineapple & raspberries

L: Pasta with crab, chilli and parsley - SW recipe. Mullerlight.

D: Italian meatloaf, new potatoes, green beans and carrots
(meatloaf: contained parmesan - counting 1.5) . STrawberries, grapes and 2 fresh apricots.
Milk in tea/coffee for HexA

Total: 5.5 syns. Overall, a rather delish day.

FannyFanakapan · 12/05/2015 18:50

Sarah, if you are not doing the classes, I think its easy to over-eat and/or to eat the wrong things - Not all yoghurts/salad dressings are created equal and some things that you think will be low syn are actually relatively high.

Take a look at some blogs like this one and look at facebook pages (SYNS ALLOWED is a good one) and Pinterest for recipe ideas. ALso, scan back in these pages for ideas on menus for the day - you don't only have to stick with SW recipes. I find many of them a bit...meh!

I find it good to have a general plan for the week, mainly the evening meals, and then have ideas for breakfast and lunch.

Slimmerforsummer · 12/05/2015 22:16

2.5 lbs off at weigh in. Pleased with that. I'm now 13st exactly

3 more lbs and I'm at the 1st mark but since I'm still bf I'm aiming for 2lbs.

Food was better today except I used all my syns on bread :/ but that's just what I was craving.

Anyone else find they put on weight when ovulating rather than on period? I do but I also crave food v intensely ( mostly white bread with real butter or chocolate) whereas the rest of the month I can usually want it but ignore the craving. Figure it's better to listen to my body as long as I stay within syns

Slimmerforsummer · 12/05/2015 22:17

Forgot to say thanks for link and fb recommendation Fanny.

Hi thanks for reply fannyfanakapan i think I may be doing it right yesterday I had
B - bannana and a strawberry muller light yogurt
L- I made the pasta with tuna, sweetcorn, grated carrot and diced cucumber mixed with a dolop of framag frais and little spoon mayo
D- had a little bit more of pasta I had left as wasn't very hungry

Snacked on about 5 crab sticks through out the day

Today
B- 2 boild eggs and 2 whole meal toast no butter

L- ham roll ups that shows on sw website

D- bachelor's pasta cheese and broccoli
And vanilla muller light with bannana gently heated
1 coffee with 70ml milk
And just water

So I don't think there are any sins
Would you say this sounds like eating to much or is ok? maybe I should just join a class
Any advice is very much appreciated
Thanks
Sorry for esay

saradavies415 · 13/05/2015 07:53

Hi sorry there is 1.5 syns in the little bit of mayo I had

SheHasAWildHeart · 13/05/2015 08:49

B: Overnight oats (HEB)
L: Gnocchi (3.5 syns) with mozzarella (HEA) and a salad (superfree)
Snack: Two boiled eggs (random I know but I didn't want any syns)
D: Am going on tonight and promise to be good but close to my syns limit!

annielostit · 13/05/2015 10:28

Sara,

Is your bread 60g from a small loaf.
Is your fromage frais/ yogurt fat free. If its low fat its got syns.
Did the ham roll ups have anything in them.
How much milk was used to make up the pasta & sauce. You get 250mls of semi skimmed for an hex a choice. It has to be measured.
Mayo needs to be measured, its surprising how everyone's 'dollop' is different.
Also you need to eat more vegetables. ? of a plate at meals where possible.

I only ask because lokking at hour day is the things I think that I try to get away with.

annielostit · 13/05/2015 10:30

That's looking at your day not lokking.

saradavies415 · 13/05/2015 12:27

Hi the bread is hovis whole meal its a 400g loaf and on back says per slice 29g
The fromage fraise is fat free
The ham roll up said to ad 6 extra light laughing cow triangles but I only used 2 and used them evenly through 4 pieces of ham
I used 100ml of milk in my pasta
But also used 70ml in my coffee
And about the mayo it said 1 level table spoon but I only used 1 level little spoon

ThisTimeIAmMagic · 13/05/2015 12:32

Hi Smile Just rejoined SW last week and want to lose 2 stone initially. Would need to lose 3.5 to get to BMI 25 but 2 stone would make a huge difference.

So far today I had
B - bacon egg mushroom and HE toast with ketchup 1 syn
L - will be a jacket spud with salad and probably a few syns for dressing.
D - chicken casserole if I get it made in time

WI tonight - will let you know how it goes Smile

saradavies415 · 13/05/2015 12:33

I think I may be ok doing dinner and lunch I just don't know what to eat all the time at dinner thats why I just choose a bachelor's pasta cheese and broccoli I think its quite a challenge when your on a budget

FannyFanakapan · 13/05/2015 13:42

Sarah, plan your meals around your carbs - pasta, rice, noodles and potatoes are all cheap. Then build in your protein - beans, mince etc can go a long way. SOme people in my class make a big pot of 5% mince, then divvy it up into portions to have with their eg spaghetti, add chilli beans for chilli and rice, add mash for cottage pie etc. - egg and sw chips is not hard to do, also omelettes.

I love stir fry veg and noodles - buy a big bottle of soy sauce, some garlic and a big ginger root. Chuck all your veggies in a sprayed pan and start cooking - add a bit of water if they start to catch. Add a clove of chopped/minced garlic and a tbs of fresh fine chopped ginger. Chilli too if you are partial. Then add a couple of TBS of soy sauce and 1/2 tsp of sweetner. add some meat if you have leftovers, or fish, or even egg - make a little omelette and then slice it into ribbons.

The noodles - buy dry noodles and put in a pan of hot water with a stock cube - cooks in 5 mins.

I think you have to look at how you were eating before, what meals you enjoyed, and think about how you could make them SW friendly. Frylight, plenty of herbs and spices etc.

Invest in some really good veggies - really nice tomatoes, plenty of fruit for snacking (but buy the best and tatiest you can afford) a big iceberg lettuce, cucumber, peppers, mushrooms for salads. These are going to fill you up.

You can do this!

LaurieFairyCake · 13/05/2015 14:12

I won Slimmer of the week this week Grin

3.5 pounds off!

Slimmerforsummer · 13/05/2015 14:17

Yay Laurie! That's a fab result :)

LaurieFairyCake · 13/05/2015 14:34

I want your 13 stone Slimmer for Summer - your loss was great too.

I'm still dancing.

Yes Fanny, I am changing my veg every night (piles of it) so I don't get bored - I bought 25 packs of Aldi chilli/lime salmon so I'm eating it every night - my skin is looking great with all the omega 3's.

ThisTimeIAmMagic · 13/05/2015 14:40

Well done Laurie Smile I have a secret but burning ambition to get slimmer of the week. I covet those magnets Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 13/05/2015 14:42

I didn't get a magnet !

I got a sticker to put on my book and a bag of fruit and a tin of pilchards Grin

ThisTimeIAmMagic · 13/05/2015 14:48

If they gave me pilchards instead of my magnet I would cry! Grin
