Is sushi a good slimming world choice?

It looks good on the outside - plain rice, fish, wasabi and soy sauce all allowed.

Am I missing anything? It's one of my favourite foods.

Apologies if it's a daft question but I'm only on day 2 and don't want to make mistakes this early on.

cakeface16 · 30/04/2015 09:38

Laurie if you're on Facebook check out the page syns allowed and put sushi into the search bar. Its an amazing. page with albums of every product you can buy

draw a line Boomonster, today is a brand new day!

Weigh in later...Ive been a bit hit and miss this week, because Ive been dealing with more sh*t, so all a bit unplanned. But hopefully today its all going to show up with a bit of a loss or a maintain, because I havent been out of control, just a bit uncoordinated.

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2015 11:04

I'm having a massive panic as I don't believe I can lose weight eating all this food Hmm I'm not hungry at all

Feel a bit of a twat, could someone reassure me.

cakeface16 · 01/05/2015 12:02

Laurie its definitely a change in thinking.

I have dabbled in 5:2 myself and slimming world seems strange in comparison but it definitely works. After doing SW for a while I do think the 5:2 seems stranger and stranger. Slimming world doesn't treat all calories the same. The calories for an apple are treated different to the calories from a mini mars. One is nutritious and one isn't so one is free and one isn't. Whereas 5:2 treats all calories as the enemy (on fast days).

The idea with slimming world isn't that you eat less, its that you eat right. I don't think you have to be hungry to lose weight. You can make good choices and lose weight. I am still new enough myself. I joined on March 28th. I am down 17 lbs and I swear i'm eating loads. I do crave junk a lot but I like that I can look forward to a big dinner or lunch.

LaurieFairyCake · 01/05/2015 12:31

You joined March 28th THIS YEAR and you've lost 17 pounds Shock Farking elle - that's amazing! That's 4 weeks.

Just wow. So well done.

I did love 5:2, it was so easy. But my blood sugars are just too difficult for it now.

Thanks for responding too. I'm going to at least give it a good go.

fannyfanakapan · 01/05/2015 12:49

Down 1.5lb! Happy days!

Laurie, the scale wont lie. I think it also takes a bit of time for you to adjust the volume you are eating - certainly i have found that initially, I was cramming my face with all sorts all day, just because I had become so accustomed to snacking. Once my blood sugar stabilised, Id realise I wasnt that hungry, so stopped snacking so much.

Im down 2st4lb since new year. averaging 2lb a week.
