There are lots of SW posts which I love reading but was finding it difficult to remember where to post my weigh in and menus for the day.

Hope no one minds me doing this......Smile

I am doing Dry January and think I have been pretty good this week with my food choices.....

Food today

How did slow cooker cannelloni go fanny. I'm awaiting in anticipation whether it was genius or disaster.

Little losses so 10 lb since started which is 3.8lb to go to first target. But first target will also be fine, anything else will be a bonus. Really like this diet as really only tweaking normal diet, and in fact probably eating more then normal.

Busy day and only had access to McDonald's had a hamburger happy meal ( without the burger) and some mozzarella cheese sticks. I think about 5 syns for small fries and 13 for sticks I,m not bothering counting the bun with the sauce on.

If I hadn't been so rushed to get to a meeting I could of gone to subway. So question for a fast foody treat a 6 inch sub veggie delite, I could have without the cheese, so literally a salad sandwich with chilli sauce yum on wholemeal should be relatively low syns or not?

Calzone you are literally a walking shredding machine, I bet you feel fab. Are you clothes shopping???

silky80 · 26/03/2015 18:37

I wonder if mumsnet had been around in my uni days, word count on essays would have been a breeze!,

fannyfanakapan · 26/03/2015 20:21

silky, it wasnt bad, but i would use ricotta as my HEX A, rather than light philly/quark. It needed the creaminess, rather than the slightly sour taste with the spinach.

Also, i didnt factor in the need for more liquid to cook the dried canneloni tubes, so should have added lots more tomato sauce - mine was a little dry.

BUT the results were edible, and with those 2 tweeks, I think it could work.

The revelation to me was cooking pasta in a slow cooker, which might just come in handy on those busy running around afternoons! I am now going to try, at some point, a lasagne, which is supposedly very good in a slow cooker. No idea what I would use for white sauce - I really do not care for quark!

Ledkr · 26/03/2015 20:46

Skimmed milk and flour or cornflour?
Low fat cheese?

fannyfanakapan · 26/03/2015 20:57

yes, I think Id have to use some syns for a lasagne. If I was making it, Id make it for the kids, with full fat milk and loads of cheese....

One of my SW facebook friends says:
"1tub quark, 2 eggs, fromage frais, some cheese from hea and a little nutmeg"

She says the eggs make the difference. ANd this is syn free...

Ledkr · 26/03/2015 21:19

Sounds a bit yuck Grin
Does anyone know the syns in baxters carrot and corriander soup?
I can only find v old info on the net and it said 8 syns Shock
Please tell me thats wrong, it was horrible thin and watery too.

Ledkr · 26/03/2015 21:22

I must learn to check first.

fannyfanakapan · 27/03/2015 07:37

7.5 syns per 400g can. :( What the Jeff is in it! Carrots (free) coriander (free) stock (minimal) - unless they have thrown in a bucket of cream as well?

Ledkr · 27/03/2015 08:06

Thanks!! I was right then.
It was really thin and tasteless too.
I think it gave me horrendous wind too Confused

shitebag · 27/03/2015 10:26

Can I join please?

I've lost 4.5st over the past 2 years (2.5st through SW which I've been doing for a year) and still have another 3st to go but its slowing right down and I've had a few gains which could apparently be due to me not eating enough Confused.

With help from my group I've managed to start bulking out my intake as of today but looking at my mealplan it seems enough to feed a cattle herd yet many of them are much smaller than me and insist it'll get me back on track again.

Today I'm having:

Breakfast: 3 egg, cheese (HEA) and tomato omelette and an apple.

Lunch: 2.5 ladels of homemade veg and lentil soup, a clementine and a mullerlight

Dinner: Cheeseburger (HEB+2.5syns) and potato, beetroot and chive salad

Snacks: 100ml whole milk (3.5syns), 12 homemade jelly sweets (1syns), Options hot choc (2syns) and a banana

I'm far from small as is my appetite but this is the kind of intake I should be looking at apparently, is it just me that thinks its WAY too much?

silky80 · 27/03/2015 11:17

I make veggie lasagne. I don,t bother with the White sauce and just layer tomato sauce veg mix. I cover with tinfoil and the right at the end a bit of mozzarella on top. I love it and don't miss loads of cheese with it.

fannyfanakapan · 27/03/2015 12:44

darn it, gained .5lb - not good!

cakeface16 · 28/03/2015 07:37

hi shitebag Grin (I'm thinking you may be irish with that nameWink ). You have lost loads and not to regain is amazing. I'm only new to slimming world too and the amount you can eat seems a bit barmy to me too. However i haven't been hungry which has meant I've been able to withstand temptation. I know I didn't get 4 stone overweight by eating to much fresh whole foods.

I am attending a family event today though and lunch is being provided so I'm slightly anxious about that as I don't feel I know the syn values of much yet

shitebag · 28/03/2015 12:53

Haha Cake close enough, I'm Scottish :o

I never actually thought of it that way, I certainly didn't slide into morbid obesity by eating too much fruit either so I guess it is better this way!

I'm off out for a meal tonight too and am taking that off but sticking to plan 100% the rest of the day.

calzone · 28/03/2015 20:56

Ledkr · 30/03/2015 18:32

I'm going to struggle through the holidays not the chocolate but just having the kids off and doing stuff with them.

shitebag · 30/03/2015 19:07

Ledkr I struggle with the holidays too, being out of routine totally mucks me up and having extra munchies lying around for the kids.

My plan is to set out my meals/snacks the night before and when they're gone they're gone! Will be making an activity plan with the kids too so that we're kept busy.

I sat down a few days ago and worked out that if I lose 1lb a week from now until my birthday (mid-October) I could be at weigh in the day before. Staying focussed on that goal should hopefully keep me motivated :o

annielostit · 30/03/2015 19:09

Can I come and join in? Again!! Please.
Not very good at this this week, have caught MANFLU, and been not best.
Need a 10lb loss by Thursday, I'm going away for a week.
