Hi everyone. I joined Slimming World and have all the information but am so confused. I can't go back to the club at the moment.

Could anyone explain the fast weight loss plan they brought in in January?

I really need to do that plan for a while.

Thanks

fannyfanakapan · 07/03/2015 13:15

well done CentralPerk

ANyone tried Weetabix muffins? Im in a cake mood, and these look good at 5 syns for 5 using HexB. I shall try them and report back....

fannyfanakapan · 08/03/2015 09:12

Don't bother with weetabix muffins - they just taste like soggy weetabix. Looking at the syn value calculation, most of the syns came from Nutella "icing" so Id rather have 2 bits of toast with nutella!

calzone · 08/03/2015 16:39

B.....bacon, eggs, beans and veg sausages

L.....mango
Scan bran x 2, sm salmon and cream cheese (4s)

Well busy day yesterday a bit more syns than usual.
Good girl today!!!
B bacon egg & beans hxb wm toast
L pork steak beans, carrots & fromage frais mashed potatoes with half a gravy pot 2 syns.
S berries & fromage frais.
Am now sat watching ' you gotta eat here'. Tortured by TV. Big buttered Kobe buns with melted butter with fat burgers pulled pork and so much cheese then sides!!! Argggghhh.Grin
What's for tea!!!

fannyfanakapan · 08/03/2015 18:20

Yesterday: Not good - went over on syns. 1/2 bottle of wine (10 syns) 2 bits of liquorice (4 syns) 2 Lindt chocolate balls (8 syns)

So today:

B: bacon, egg, beans
L: Wholemeal roll, prawns, lighter than light mayo (1/2 syn), salad
D: BBQ Pulled Gammon, sw chips, coleslaw (dressing 1 syn)
S: Mullerlight.

I tried the SW BBQ Pulled Gammon recipe, which was overly spicy and made so much sauce it was ridiculous. Im going to freeze half of it in portions to have with chicken or something, but even then I probably have enough for 8 sauce portions. Thats after feeding all of us with masses of sauce in the pot.

If anyone tries it I would go easier on the spices - cinnamon and ginger in particular. ANd maybe halve the sauce recipe. Id also omit or reduce by half the ratio of worcestershire/soy and balsamic, as the flavours were just too much.

My mains for this week:

S: SW Thai Prawn curry (yum)
Su: BBq Pulled gammon, sw chips and sw coleslaw (kids had peas)
M: Jambalaya
T: Cajun chicken, corn, new potatos
W: Turkey burgers
T: COttage pie
F: CHicken Katsu curry

silky, its hard when you lose your mojo - but I think we have all been there because it takes effort to follow a SW plan when you have the rest of your life going on in the background, we are increasingly time poor.

Im finding it difficult to fit in with my family, who are "traditional" (ie conservative) eaters. They are turning up their noses at SW food (because it contains so many veg?? ) so I end up cooking separately for them. Tonight Im making jambalaya, but reading the recipe, I can see I will need to make 2 batches, one for them and one SW one for me. I cannot see my kids eating quorn sausages, for them its chorizo or regular pork sausages, or nothing!

I want to ask SW to have a customer rating system on their recipes, so I know what works and what doesnt. I dont want to be throwing out food.

Thanks fanny.

It's all ok with feeding kiddies, they'll pretty much eat the same when we eat together. It's more hectic with work.

Last week 6 days and 3 evenings working. Out from 8 am, nip to pick up wee ones switch over with oh and back out again.

Today went wrong again as missed lunch (meetings) so by 6pm just strawberries and nipped in for some gherkins.

I find my work ruins it all. I often don't get in until 10 and start at 8. Driving and long days. Oh self employed so again switches back to work once I get back in.

My fave anyway is veg lasagne and going to try it with leeks instead or alternative to pasta. Although I don,t use loads and not a huge amount of cheese. No idea why it tastes so much better then veg pasta. Prob once it's in the oven I don't have to watch it. Smile

annielostit · 10/03/2015 10:07

Hex A: 1/2 sk Milk in tea. Undecided about the other half. May have a slice of cheese with my burger!
Hex B: Possibly a wholemeal bun with my burger.

fannyfanakapan · 11/03/2015 16:59

sticking more or less to the menu plan, just shifting a couple of things around and accepting a veto from the kids!

Today:

B: Remainder of smoked haddock, with a tablespoon of low-low cheese (2 syns) melted over, egg and tomatoes.

L: Remainder of pulled gammon with baked spud and salad.

silky80 · 13/03/2015 11:24

Well done fanny that's loads off.

Does anyone know syns of Chinese pancakes as an alternative to wraps

fannyfanakapan · 13/03/2015 11:29

good idea silky. I looked at the SW recipe for duck pancakes, they are 2 syns each, but you can "save a syn each by using lettuce leaves instead of pancakes" - so I presume they are 1 syn each unfilled, the extra syn coming from the hoisin sauce and oil.

recipe
