You'll be pleased to hear I tried my overnight oats (jury still out on that) and I made my syn free soup!

The oats are filling but very sweet - I'm going to try with something other than mullerlight. I prefer savory at breakfast time.

A friend of mine in California makes oats and then adds a fried egg, salt and pepper, and sometimes some bacon. Even avocado. Ive never had the courage to try it, but I may do so tomorrow.

calzone · 02/03/2015 19:25

Step away from the avocado......9 syns for 100g ????

OP posts:
calzone · 02/03/2015 19:28

B.....35g crunchy bran, melon, sk milk

L.....none.....2 tangerines

D....mushrooms with Ainsley couscous and 2 eggs (2syns)
Massive bowl veggies

Hi anyone out there. Syns for uncle ben's tomato risotto. I'm shattered and can't be bothered cooking (in a freezing cold kitchen).

I could have pasta n sauce but had that for lunch.

But if syns for risotto are loads I,lol do the pasta n sauce. Alternatively I feel like going to bed!!!

silky80 · 02/03/2015 20:17

Hi Calzone,

I love the sound of your husbands cooking. Are you able to share some syn free meals recipes. I love spicy food. Or can he just send me a food parcel on days I'm too tired to think ha ha I'll pay. Smile

calzone · 02/03/2015 20:21

Haha Silky! Smile

I cook midweek.

I will check for risotto.....

B: Toast, eggs, beans
L: Soup. Fish sticks, apple
D: diet cola chicken (ok, but not brilliant, Made with chicken pieces rather than chicken strips.) new pots and veg. Mullerlight.

Snack: ff yoghurt

Syns: One delicious Lindt chocolate ball. 4 syns. SO worth it!

hillyhilly · 03/03/2015 22:34

I joined today, 10st 5.5lb (5'4"), I want to be 9.5 stone at home naked so I reckon that's about 9 stone 9 for class.
I'm impressed with the quantity and simplicity so far but a bit confused about my syns (I've eaten 4 today and that was accidental because I had too much cereal before the meeting).
I don't want to smack for the sake of it and also know that I will go way over at the weekend which is always my downfall, I'm attending wine tasting on Saturday and a roast dinner cooked by someone else on Sunday. Can I save any syns?

annielostit · 04/03/2015 06:55

If you've had the risotto, the roast veg is 3, chicken is 4, tomato 4.5 and chicken is 6, all per 250g pouch.

silky80 · 04/03/2015 08:08

Can any one give me any menu examples for the s&p days. I don,t really get it. Vegetarian ideas please. Don't really do quern but can cope with the sausages.

Ideas that don't have much cooking involved as two long days and eves working. So no time to shop or cook.

Is fruit in that. I can live off fruit.

annielostit · 04/03/2015 11:48

Veggie SP. That's a tight one as there's no rice pasta or grains. Veggie chili, stews with beans et c is a way to go or soups.

Snacks fruit salad, boiled eggs vegetables sticks with salsa.

Breakfast- 2 x small wm bread hexb x1. Plus baked beans & tomatoes.

Lunch - vegetable omelette with mixed salad & fat free dressing. An apple.

Dinner - bean & vegetable stew with quorn sausage & green vegetables.

You have another b choice to use plus your a choice. Does this help?

silky80 · 04/03/2015 17:29

Thanks Annie. I don't eat eggs either but stew and soup will be fine.

Thinking of incorporating one / 2 days a week carb free.

Are all pulses ok then ie butter beans, kidney beans.

annielostit · 04/03/2015 18:22

All pulses are under P protein lists. Just checked the book.

silky80 · 04/03/2015 22:06

Thanks Annie. Leek, red onion and butter bean soup should be fine then.

Smile
silky80 · 04/03/2015 22:09

I,m not very good with b choices. Wholemeal bread, cereal etc

What's the best high fibre from a b choice ?

calzone · 04/03/2015 22:19

excellent calzone! thats good news. I'm struggling this week, after the weekend excesses. I'll be happy with a 1/2 off or a maintain. I have been doing lots of walking though with the dog, so hopefully some of the worst excesses will have been used up by hiking with the hound.

fannyfanakapan · 05/03/2015 20:00

B: toast (hexb) bacon and tomato with 1 dairy-lea triangle (HEA) plus milk for numerous teas!

L: Last of the diet cola chicken plus veg and spuds leftovers

D: 2 Morrocan veggie burgers (1 syn each) plus salad and new potaos with dressing (2 syns).

I really liked the veggie burgers and will buy again.

I was supposed to be making falafel, but what with one thing or another, I didnt get around to it - may try to make them later as Im supposed to take something in for freebie taste testing tomorrow...

calzone · 05/03/2015 23:21

B.....35g crunchy bran, pear, banana, sk milk

L....sushi, persimmon (5syns for sushi)

annielostit · 06/03/2015 06:57

Its so funny we look forward to a simple sandwich. I'd live on them given the choice. Your filling sounds yummy calzone. Enjoy!!!

silky80 · 06/03/2015 08:23

Hi Annie, where did you get the Moroccan veggie burgers from. They sound good and really low syn. Do you know any other low syn veggie burgers.

Does anyone know where I can get ainsley Harriet's Dahl from. I've tried waitrose, morrisons and tesco's.

fannyfanakapan · 06/03/2015 09:25

Morrocan veggie burgers from Sainsbury's - they are with the other veggie products in a green box of 4.

Ive just made falafel from the SW recipe above. They are OK but soooooo bland - is it just me or do you find the SW recipes lack depth of flavour? They are OK but just need something......

Anyway, if making falafel again, I would make them with 2 chillis, and more spice. Jamie Oliver uses harrisa and allspice. SOunds much more up my street than just cumin and coriander.

Ive also seen reference to Lebanese seven-spice (or ½ tsp ground black pepper and ¼ tsp each of ground cinnamon, ginger, allspice and nutmeg) in addition to cumin and coriander, and also the addition of broad beans in summer.

I feel a mission to find perfect SW falafel recipe is ON!

My skinny tzatziki is lush - great with crudites too.

O% greek yoghurt
½ cucumber, deseeded, chopped finely
1 clove garlic, minced
Handful of mint, finely chopped (i cheat and use mint sauce)
Juice of 1 lemon
Black pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients and allow flavours to combine for an hour.

fannyfanakapan · 06/03/2015 14:40

well poo! I gained a pound. I dont know why I feel so aggrieved, because the weekend was very off plan so obviously I could not just make it all right bey being generally on plan for 4 days!

Onwards! Mini goal: my 10% within 2 weeks.
