Managed to get sw sausage, texture similar to quorn sausage IMO, not a bad taste though. OK in a bun.
Anyone tried any products?

fannyfanakapan · 26/02/2015 10:51

today, for the first time, I looked in the mirror and could see some weight had gone. Yeay me!

Yesterday:

1 warburtons brown sandwich thin with lightest philly (HEA) and smoked salmon. Great debate about if the warburtons (5 syns) should actually be my HEB.

Lunch salad with dressing (2 syns) and crab with lighter than light mayo (1 syn).

Dinner: SOup 1.5 syns plus a 2 fingered kit kat (5.5 syns)

So depending on the HEB warburtonsgate debate, I am either at 10 or 15 syns.

annielostit · 26/02/2015 13:19

Well done with the mirror image fanny, its great when you start to see for yourself.
I'd have the wb thin as an hex b as well. If sw basic guidelines are followed I don't see the difference if its brown or white. I suggested a few weeks ago at group that someone saved the b choice as they were going for an Indian, then she could share a chapatti. The consultant didn't say it doesn't work like that. Technically does your digestive system know its not on the list? Just how much energy/calories it generates.
A bit long winded there.
Today has been,
Egg Mayo on toast & spaghetti.
Savoury rice & salmon.
Dinner is steak salad & saute potatoes.

calzone · 26/02/2015 19:42

silky80 · 27/02/2015 08:26

2 1/2 lbs off so 7 1/2 lbs since 13th jan.

6 lbs to first goal to go.

annielostit · 27/02/2015 10:37

Well done silky,keep going!!

fannyfanakapan · 27/02/2015 12:24

1 lb down - hurrah!

Now wise slimmers, ever heard of this? Apparently if you mash your banana on toast or whatever) then you have to syn it. But not if you slice or eat it whole?

Its this sort of mumbo jumbo that makes me roll my eyes. I do get that, in a smoothie, you would never eat the high volumes of fruit if whole, and so its a way of controlling protion size. But sliced vs mashed banana?

That makes my FroYo invalid too - even if I use one banana worth of frozen nana.

silky80 · 27/02/2015 16:56

That made me laugh fanny, you rebel!!!!!!

calzone · 27/02/2015 18:30

B.....overnight oats with fruit

L....mugshot, fruit, yoghurt (1syn)

D.....am hoping DH is making me soup as I am coming down with a chest infection.....

First day at Slimming World today. I'm 5ft 7 and 14st 8lbs not got a target in mind yet but my Club 10 is 13st 2lbs so I'm focusing on getting there just now.

Breakfast: 2 weetabix (HExB) and 125mls semi-skimmed milk (HExA) with sliced banana on top.

Lunch: Pasta, courgettes, tomatoes, tinned tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, red pepper, yellow pepper, onion and slices of melon for after.

Tea: I'm still stuffed so planning to have Baxters mediterranean tomato soup with sticks of carrot, cucumber and sliced peppers on the side.

Syns: 5 and a half

Drinks: water, caffeine free diet coke (1 can a week) and the other 125mls of milk from my HExA allowance.

Does that sound OK?

annielostit · 28/02/2015 15:27

Sounds OK but is the soup free, as you had hex b for breakfast. You could find the syn value and use them.

CentralPerk · 28/02/2015 16:04

The soup is the 5 and a half syns. Everything else is free food or healthy extras.

Thanks Calzone Smile I'm loving the mango and passionfruit Muller lights, really nice Smile not too fussed on the toffee or cappuccino ones though

fannyfanakapan · 01/03/2015 08:32

I had a really bad day yesterday - fell off the old wagon spectacularly (chocolate, wine, crisps, you get the picture).

I need to plan my weeks menu to avoid syns.

hstar1995 · 01/03/2015 12:34

I had a bad week last week and still managed to lose a pound so there's still hope Smile I think planning is key, and I drink lots of water too, so that if I'm hungry I drink and sometimes all I need is a drink Wink if you're anything like me and love chocolate in the evening, maybe have a hifi bar as a HEB? They're lush and if I close my eyes I can pretend the peanut ones are snicker bars (albeit smaller and without the chocolate coating)

calzone · 01/03/2015 16:05

Menu for the week ahead......

Cereal/oats for breakfast
Chicken/salads/soup for lunch

Dinners will be....

Keema with rice (leftovers)
Stuffed mushrooms with couscous and salad
Quorn nuggets, chips, mushy peas
Veggie sausages, eggs, beans, mushrooms, hash browns
Veggie omelette with carrots and broccoli
Diet coke chicken, new potatoes and broccoli
Burger in a bowl

fannyfanakapan · 01/03/2015 17:04

Calzone, you are my bestie diet buddy - you have prompted me to plan this week...

My planned menu....

Im going to try overnight oats tonight, and see how I get on. Otherwise it will be weetabix/sultana bran. or eggs/toast.

Lunch: I have once again bought the ingredients for my favourite soup, and I will try and make a batch tonight - honest!

Menu for the week (i like this idea...makes me think ahead)

S: Roast lamb and trimmings
M: Gyros for the kids, same without the wrap for me!
T: Diet Coke chicken, new pots and mixed veg
W: Pasta with salmon and broccoli
T: Falafel for me, with skinny tsatziki (0% greek yog, cucumber, garlic, lemon, herbs) . Fish fingers and chips for the kids.
F: I need a slow cooker meal for Friday - maybe slow cooked risotto? Kids can have it with something.....
S: erm......

Im also going to look at using my HexA more efficiently - usually its used up in endless cups of tea plus breakfast. SO Im going to go back to drinking my tea black half the time (i like rooibos) and save some milk.

calzone · 01/03/2015 20:46

GrinGrin @ fanny!!!!

How do you do falafels?

B.....Weetabix with melon and Sk milk, banana, tangerine

L...smash, egg and beans

D...keema, a lovely green veg, rice
Fruit platter
Muller lite

OP posts:
fannyfanakapan · 02/03/2015 09:01

im going to try the SW recipe....

225g dried chickpeas (life's too short, I'll be using canned)
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 level tsp ground cumin
1 level tsp ground coriander
1 small red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
2 tbsps chopped parsley
½ tsp baking powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Low calorie cooking spray
Method

Put the chickpeas in a bowl, cover them with plenty of cold water and leave to soak for at least 48 hours. Drain the chickpeas and then rinse well under cold running water in a colander, and cook according to packet instructions. (or open the tin)

Put the drained chickpeas in a food processor with the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, chilli and herbs. Process to a thick, smooth puree. Add the baking powder and seasoning and stir well. Transfer to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Take small pieces of the pureed chickpea mixture and form into little balls between your hands, then flatten them out slightly. Arrange the falafel balls on a baking tray that has been sprayed with low calorie cooking spray.

Cook the falafel in a preheated hot oven at 220°C/200°C Fan/Gas 7 for about 12-15 minutes, until crisp and golden. Serve immediately. A bowl of fat free natural yogurt flavoured with fresh mint and chopped chilli makes a good dip for the falafel.
Tip: You could use canned chickpeas as an alternative to dried.
