Slimming World
Starting again... Anyone looking for a buddy?
KeepAbreast · 21/06/2014 23:47
Okay, so I'm going to start Slimming World again. I lost about three stone last year on it after having my DD but I've put it all back on and more :/ and I feel stuck in a massive rut.
This time however, I'm back at work so can't make it to group, so will be doing it from home. If anyone else is thinking about starting SW, or already has, I'd love to have someone to chat to and check in with! Anybody?

Hi guys, I've been so busy with moving and now decorating. Been off plan for 2 weeks. Very nearly gave up and didn't bother going back to group but something made me go. Can't believe it but I actually managed to stay the same!
Back on track now. Had a yummy roast chicken dinner for tea with allotment grown runner beans. Off shopping tomorrow so I've got all the right food in.
I joined the slow cooker group on Facebook. Looking for some ideas I can tweak for stress free SW dinners. Just have to ignore all the posts about slow cooker fudge (looks amazing!!!!)
Well done on all the losses guys, and welcome to all the newbies

4 slices of smoked bacon
2 carrots
1 red onion
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 a small swede
10 pods of broad beans (approx)
1 chicken stock cube
Enough water to cover everything

Hi Ziggie and Woodpecker :)
Well done Becks staying the same through a move is amazing! Soup sounds lovely did you blend it? I had a SW recipe thread which no one bothered posting on, maybe you could reinvigorate it with the soup.
I had a 1lb gain this week, wasn't too upset as lost 4lbs last week and also ate out three times over the weekend including pudding Onwards and upwards!

I've been sticking loosely to plan it will be so much easier once school starts again as il have more time to plan etc.
Well done to everyone else

I started my diet yesterday trying to follow sw as closely as poss as i struggle to get to groups and money is tight with a wedding on the way next July. I now have 8 months to shed as much weight as i can before my first wedding dress fitting eeeek. Dress fits me now, size 22, but would love to feel more comfortable with myself on the day.

Id put on a pound last weigh in, don't think I've got it of this week. Poor excuse but I haven't had time to plan what I'm going to eat so it comes to dinner and I'm eating mostly pasta which has bloated my stomach so much! I've also been guilty of picking between meals so it's not been a good week for me. Weigh in tomorrow and boys both at school from next week so il have lots of time to shop and plan so no excuses.
How's everyone else getting on?

Can i join your thread please? I lost nearly four stone about 4 years ago but stupidly stopped going to class and have put pretty much all of it back on again. Last night I rejoined as at the moment I have literally no clothes to wear as all my 'thin' ones are vacuumed packed away in the bottom of my wardrobe. I'd like to lose at least a stone and a half by Xmas and then the rest (2 stone) by next summer when I have a posh wedding to go to and I would love to wear a nice frock rather than a tent!
So far today I have had:
Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal toast (400g loaf) with two eggs and a smidgen of lighter spreadable butter
Lunch - jacket spud, tuna, extra light mayo, cherry tomatoes and mixed salad leaves. Grapes for afters.
Snacks - a banana and I might have a muller greek yogurt later on
Dinner - not sure yet but think I might make the bacon and pea risotto in the new magazine
So far I've had 2 syns and am going to have a funsize pack of Maltesers later in front of the telly which I think are still 5 syns. My downfall is alcohol though and I'm not sure yet how I'm going to deal with the Friday night 'itch' later.

I'm desperate to lose some weight and feel better about myself. A stone has gone on relatively quickly due to intense family stress, but really I need to lose two stone to be my ideal weight which is around 10 stone - I'm nearly 5ft6ins.
I can't get to any meetings so was thinking of joining online. Does anyone have any experience of the online tools? Easy to use? Or should I just get the books off eBay? I know I do need support so would definitely check in here ........
I should add that I have been to a SWclass before but never more than twice. I've got form for not sticking with things, hence my previous name, Fadqueen!
However, this time I mean business!

First weigh in tonight and I'm a bit disappointed as I only lost 1.5lbs. I've been following it to the letter, weighed everything I should have done, counted all my syns and written it down so I don't know why. I've done SW loads of times before and never had such a paltry loss in the first week. Please give me some sage words wise slimming world mumsnetters as at the moment I'm feeling a bit pissed off!
