Okay, so I'm going to start Slimming World again. I lost about three stone last year on it after having my DD but I've put it all back on and more :/ and I feel stuck in a massive rut.

This time however, I'm back at work so can't make it to group, so will be doing it from home. If anyone else is thinking about starting SW, or already has, I'd love to have someone to chat to and check in with! Anybody? Smile

Hi guys, I've been so busy with moving and now decorating. Been off plan for 2 weeks. Very nearly gave up and didn't bother going back to group but something made me go. Can't believe it but I actually managed to stay the same!

Back on track now. Had a yummy roast chicken dinner for tea with allotment grown runner beans. Off shopping tomorrow so I've got all the right food in.

I joined the slow cooker group on Facebook. Looking for some ideas I can tweak for stress free SW dinners. Just have to ignore all the posts about slow cooker fudge (looks amazing!!!!)

Well done on all the losses guys, and welcome to all the newbies Grin

Made lentil and bacon soup today. Blooming lovely.

1 mug of lentils (I used red ones)
1 tin of chickpeas (drained)
4 slices of smoked bacon
2 carrots
1 red onion
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 a small swede
10 pods of broad beans (approx)
1 chicken stock cube
Enough water to cover everything

1hr on high, 6hr on low. Salt and pepper to taste. Free on extra easy. Lovely and thick. Yum yum

OneSkinnyChip · 20/08/2014 20:47

Hi Ziggie and Woodpecker :)

Well done Becks staying the same through a move is amazing! Soup sounds lovely did you blend it? I had a SW recipe thread which no one bothered posting on, maybe you could reinvigorate it with the soup.

I had a 1lb gain this week, wasn't too upset as lost 4lbs last week and also ate out three times over the weekend including pudding Blush Onwards and upwards!

beckslovestimmy · 20/08/2014 21:01

Hi skinny chip, no need to blend, it goes lovely and thick and then its nice to have the chunks of veg and chickpeas.

What's the title of the recipe thread? I'm happy to add to it.

Katiekins90 · 22/08/2014 09:39

Haven't been on for a while, had a disasters is last week gaining 2lb (purely through alcohol!) managed to loose it this week plus another 1/2lb.
I've been sticking loosely to plan it will be so much easier once school starts again as il have more time to plan etc.

Well done to everyone else

beckslovestimmy · 25/08/2014 22:00

Woo hoo 2lb off this week and my 1/2 stone award!

OneSkinnyChip · 28/08/2014 10:49

Well, 3lbs off this week so 2lbs down on 2 weeks ago. Still loving the plan :)

OneSkinnyChip · 28/08/2014 10:50

Well done on the losses Katie and Becks and thanks for adding the soup recipe.

CherryLips1980 · 29/08/2014 16:11

I joined SW last night. Feel quite positive about it although it is taking longer than it should to realise I can still have mashed potatoes!

vancolb · 02/09/2014 13:07

I started my diet yesterday trying to follow sw as closely as poss as i struggle to get to groups and money is tight with a wedding on the way next July. I now have 8 months to shed as much weight as i can before my first wedding dress fitting eeeek. Dress fits me now, size 22, but would love to feel more comfortable with myself on the day.

Cannotbelieveit · 03/09/2014 14:17

Sorry haven't checked In recently! Sts for the last two weeks. Weigh I Friday, hope I've lost as been extra good this week! How is everyone doing?

Katiekins90 · 03/09/2014 16:51

Id put on a pound last weigh in, don't think I've got it of this week. Poor excuse but I haven't had time to plan what I'm going to eat so it comes to dinner and I'm eating mostly pasta which has bloated my stomach so much! I've also been guilty of picking between meals so it's not been a good week for me. Weigh in tomorrow and boys both at school from next week so il have lots of time to shop and plan so no excuses.

How's everyone else getting on?

CherryLips1980 · 03/09/2014 22:06

It's my first weigh in tomorrow evening, so I will either post happy or in the doldrums! I am quietly hopeful though....

NapoleonsNose · 05/09/2014 13:26

Can i join your thread please? I lost nearly four stone about 4 years ago but stupidly stopped going to class and have put pretty much all of it back on again. Last night I rejoined as at the moment I have literally no clothes to wear as all my 'thin' ones are vacuumed packed away in the bottom of my wardrobe. I'd like to lose at least a stone and a half by Xmas and then the rest (2 stone) by next summer when I have a posh wedding to go to and I would love to wear a nice frock rather than a tent!

So far today I have had:

Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal toast (400g loaf) with two eggs and a smidgen of lighter spreadable butter

Lunch - jacket spud, tuna, extra light mayo, cherry tomatoes and mixed salad leaves. Grapes for afters.

Snacks - a banana and I might have a muller greek yogurt later on

Dinner - not sure yet but think I might make the bacon and pea risotto in the new magazine

So far I've had 2 syns and am going to have a funsize pack of Maltesers later in front of the telly which I think are still 5 syns. My downfall is alcohol though and I'm not sure yet how I'm going to deal with the Friday night 'itch' later.

HopeAndStories · 05/09/2014 17:09

Sorry I've not been on in ages! (NC from BakeOffQueen) In total now on SW, I've lost 9 lbs in 6 weeks, taking my total loss to 46 lbs Grin

Well done on all the losses!

Will check in more often :)

Cannotbelieveit · 05/09/2014 20:03

Lost 3.5lb this week bringing my total to 19.5lb in 10 weeks. Still 43.5lbs to go x

Katiekins90 · 06/09/2014 22:08

Struggling to stay motivated, new week on Monday fresh start goin to give it 100%

vancolb · 09/09/2014 10:35

well i lost 7lb for my first week yay really pleased. Fingers croossed i can lose 1-2 lb a week going forward.

Cannotbelieveit · 10/09/2014 21:37

How is everyone doing so far this week?

IseeSwansea · 11/09/2014 13:20

I'm desperate to lose some weight and feel better about myself. A stone has gone on relatively quickly due to intense family stress, but really I need to lose two stone to be my ideal weight which is around 10 stone - I'm nearly 5ft6ins.
I can't get to any meetings so was thinking of joining online. Does anyone have any experience of the online tools? Easy to use? Or should I just get the books off eBay? I know I do need support so would definitely check in here ........
I should add that I have been to a SWclass before but never more than twice. I've got form for not sticking with things, hence my previous name, Fadqueen!

However, this time I mean business!

NapoleonsNose · 11/09/2014 20:36

First weigh in tonight and I'm a bit disappointed as I only lost 1.5lbs. I've been following it to the letter, weighed everything I should have done, counted all my syns and written it down so I don't know why. I've done SW loads of times before and never had such a paltry loss in the first week. Please give me some sage words wise slimming world mumsnetters as at the moment I'm feeling a bit pissed off!

Cannotbelieveit · 12/09/2014 08:33

Isee yes you should be able to follow online or go for one week get the starter pack and buy some of the little books with Syn values etc

Weigh in this morning Shock

Cannotbelieveit · 12/09/2014 08:34

Napoleons I don't know why that's happened to me in the past but only a few weeks in. Just carry on as you are and sometimes the bigger loss will come the week after

Cannotbelieveit · 12/09/2014 09:54

1.5lb's off and 1.5st award! Grin

Katiekins90 · 12/09/2014 17:47

Well done on 1.5 loss and sticker :)
1lb down for me last night, 2 to go till target!
