Slimming World
Starting again... Anyone looking for a buddy?
KeepAbreast · 21/06/2014 23:47
Okay, so I'm going to start Slimming World again. I lost about three stone last year on it after having my DD but I've put it all back on and more :/ and I feel stuck in a massive rut.
This time however, I'm back at work so can't make it to group, so will be doing it from home. If anyone else is thinking about starting SW, or already has, I'd love to have someone to chat to and check in with! Anybody?

How is everybody doing?? Recently I keep thinking of all the things I can't eat and have gone back to feeling hungry all the time! I'm still sticking to plan though and have lost 2st 11.5lbs and hope to get my 3st sticker on wednesday.
My clothes are beginning to look too big and I've had to buy new jeans for the first time in 4 years! The last time I bought a new top was 3 years ago! Before I started this diet I had 1 pair of jeggings (that hurt me as they were too tight), 1 pair of dark grey leggings, 1 pair of black leggings (with 'glory holes' on the crotch), A pair of old grey joggers and my navy work trousers. I've also got 1 maxi skirt and 1 knee length skirt but no tops (that looked nice) to wear with them. That was literally it for bottoms
2 years ago a friend who had lost 6 stone gave me 3 black bags full of her old clothes. Hardly anything fit but I still kept anything I liked thinking "one day you bugger I'll fit in to you"...And I now do!!
These are the things that spur me on...that and the thought of all the lovely new clothes I'll need by christmas! Such a change from feeling sick and dizzy at the thought of going clothes shopping I'm now actually looking forward to it!
Another thing that is new is being totally honest with my partner about how much I weigh and what size clothes I wear. He was always trying to get me to buy new clothes when we were out, and once that led to an actual panic attack in Asda at the thought of just browsing in front of him. I just couldn't cope with the thought of him seeing what size clothes I wear
My reluctance to actually buy any new clothes coupled with my massive tantrums at home due to having no clothes led him to think (rightly I suppose) that I have massive issues with myself. He actually bought me 2 tops from Primark in a size 18 bless him....my work tunic is size 26!!!
Now though it is such a relief to just say "darling, I was almost 20st, look how well I've done"! and to do fashion shows for him showing how baggy my clothes have become!
Sorry for waffling....I hope everyone is still feeling positive and dropping pounds

Well done Katie :)
I've been amazed by how the weight has come off even though I'm only half sticking to it. Reducing bread has made a huge difference I think. I don't mind that it's been gradual because I've cheated like mad and I think the continued weight loss proves that it's a really sustainable way of living :)

Mind if i join? I started 4 weeks ago, 5lb down so far but seriously off the wagon this week. Weigh in is tuesday so need to have a good few days. I started off so well but like all the diets i have tried i end up losing focus. Any tips? Btw, i had 3 stone 1lb to lose. So 5lb so far i am happy with.

Oneskinnychip - I'm exactly the same not following the plan 100% I'd say I do 4 days a week completely on plan then the other days I'm just trying to make better choices over what I eat but not counting syns etc.
I usually do Monday-Thursday being on plan as weigh in days a Thursday but now groups been moved to a Tuesday so it messes my week up! Will have to be more controlled over the weekend now lol

Katiekins did you reach your target?
I've just read this thread & you have been losing steadily & well: a real inspiration to me!
Your question upthread, when I do a food diary, my leader writes helpful comments on it. He texts us, replies to our texts & Facebooks as well.
Hope you made your target!

Can I join in too It's my first weigh in tonight, i'm really hoping i've lost otherwise i'll really easily fall off the wagon. Well done for all of your weight loss, what an inspiration! I've got 4 stone to lose, but I set my target at 3 stone as I have never been that weight, so would like to see how I feel when I get there. I think it would make me a size 12 and i'd more than likely be happy with that! (Though a 10 would be nice i'll admit!) I really wish I had started this weeks ago as i've got a big work party on the 11th of December, and none of my party dresses fit (by a long way!) And i'll be so sad if I have to buy one in my current size. Oh well, no one to blame but myself!

I'm back to the thread after ages away, RL got in the way!
I've reached my target weight since I started in June. In fact, DH says I'm now too skinny.
The week after I reached target I went mad and had a mince pie (I know how to live ) I went to weigh in and had lost another 1.5 lbs below my target!
I'm now worried about keeping on target, not putting it back on and not losing any more.
Oh, and my old 'fat' clothes are in the charity shop bag.
Katiekins90 · 26/11/2014 11:39
Hi everyone,
I'm at target now a loss of 1.6 and a half. I don't feel as well as what I thought. To be honest I can't see a difference in myself, I'm still in the same dress size and the jeans I wanted to get back into still make my legs looked like over stuffed sausages. I'm running 3-4 times a week 3 miles at a time and still no major change.
How's everyone else doing?
