So my usual American site has now been blocked, any suggestions?

I read online that a number of sites that sell children’s melatonin gummies have been blocked in the UK

I hate this! Can’t get my extra strength ones anymore which have helped me for the past few years. Next best thing I’ve found is Biovia which contains a slightly higher mg of melatonin than others - they were still shipping to uk about 2-3 weeks ago, but may have been blocked by now as well. I’m gutted but these I’ll have to wean myself into the weaker ones then when they run out just go back to lying there for hours trying to sleep.

Biovea

Morecoffeethanks · 04/02/2026 20:27

Can you get some shipped from France? I’m not sure what the exact situation is with declaring goods post Brexit.

I have the Piping Rock ones, they were recommended to me

caterpillary · 04/02/2026 20:29

I have them on prescription

minipie · 04/02/2026 20:30

nondrinker1985 · 04/02/2026 20:30

There‘s some potential serious issues with gummies aimed at children including poor industry regulation, inaccurate dosing ( higher content then advertised) and risk of overconsumption leading to overdose..so a good thing in many ways , particularly as melatonin potentially impacts on deep sleep quality which is so important for children. https://www.bmj.com/content/390/bmj.r1384 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/search/research-news/18799/

Flannelfeet · 04/02/2026 21:19

Doomed to a life of insomnia now!!!!

Ifusay · 04/02/2026 21:20

Try Biovea

loveawineloveacrisp · 04/02/2026 21:22

You can buy in Turkey and America if you know anyone going there.

freezingmytoesoff · 04/02/2026 21:45

Yep Biovea

caterpillary · 04/02/2026 21:47

Seriously I just told my gp that I had tried some from Canada and they fixed my insomnia and he agreed to prescribe them for me. Have you even asked?

Flatandhappy · 04/02/2026 21:49

Can I ask what strength people use? I take 2mg slow release melatonin which I get on prescription but I find increasingly that it helps me get to sleep ok but I am waking up two hours later.

I also spoke to my gp a couple of years ago and told her I was getting them from America and would I be able to be prescribed them and she said no, im not in the age guidance for them, only certain children can be prescribed and adults over 55 but she was happy for me to keep getting them online. Im 44.

caterpillary · 05/02/2026 05:47

Well I was 47 when I started getting them two years ago. I had been to the gp about my sleep before and I’d done a CBT type thing on an app that was nhs approved so maybe they could see I had tried and had an issue.
i actually take mine when I wake in the night at about 2am. I take 2mg. If I take it before bed I still wake up and can’t get back to sleep.

DJSteves · 05/02/2026 06:42

It’s an absolute joke that you can’t buy Melatonin in the UK. They are currently buy one get one free in my local pharmacy
