A fire

A man climbing through the bedroom sash window of my ground floor flat, with my large stone candle holder in his hand.

A mouse running across my face.

3 Balaclava clad burglars trying to break in. The ring went off twice we looked out and didn't see any thing. It went of again and this time I checked the ring app and there was a guy! Actually 3! I was so confused. It high three needed help! . Good job I have it on loud and motion detection alerts. What then happens is rather forget. When I told my husband he ran down, woke up the dog and and turned the light on and they scarpered. But DH ran upstairs got dressed for in his car and headed after him. Bizarrely they had waited for him.

Anyway he didn't get them thank Christ. The police did eventually and they are in prison for a long time serious organised crime. Stealing cars. Drugs etc

A call to say my Dad had died.

Ugh god, was he drunk or just a massive sack of arseholes?

Reminds me of another one. Waking up to find my ex standing over me, wanking over my hair as a "punishment" for not having sex with him.

another one was my waters breaking dramatically, I was annoyed because I was so tired and just wanted to sleep!

A nurse nudging me awake to tell me my mum had died, in the bed I was sat next to.

Different kind of ‘worst’ - on a hot summer’s night, I was asleep with no bed clothes over me. A big spider fell off the ceiling and landed on my torso. I have never jumped out of bed so fast!

Oh and the smoke alarm going off whilst I was pregnant. DH had set the grill on fire. I was absolutely furious.

Hallucinated / dreamt a man was standing over my days old babies crib. Terrifying moment.

My Mum calling to say my brother had killed himself.

But, on a more lighthearted note - I once woke up, aged about 10, to my hamster climbing over my face! I don’t think it had ever even broken out of its cage until that night. It was really scary!

A spider nest falling from the ceiling onto my face, exploding into a mass of spiderlings which dispersed across my face and hair.
OTOH my best wake up was when I heard/dreamed sleigh bells on Christmas morning and thought "yay! He's Been ". I was in my 40s. He had not been. It was nice for the few seconds before I remembered I'm an adult though.

Thankfully it wasn't dangerously poisonous. The sting was painful but didn't make me unwell.

What happened when you woke up?

A cat sitting on my face 😭🙈 I was about 8, we didn't have a cat! We were on holiday and it must have climbed in through a crack in the first floor window somehow and curled up on my face. I atill remember the panic now, felt like I was being suffocated 😖

Does it sound like ragged breathing or just breaths ? I heard ragged breathing my first night I moved into a new house a few years ago, and I was sure it was a ghost or a demon in my bathroom
