A fire

OP posts:
HavfrueDenizKisi · 29/09/2024 18:40

Lighthearted but gross:
A rat climbing up my curtains (as a child).

Dog vomiting
Child vomiting

Actually my (ex) uni boyfriend after a night out turning his head in bed and projectile vomiting all over me

Extremely sad:
Phone call from hospital telling me I needed to go in for my Dad as he had vomited fresh blood. He died that morning after we'd got there.

shellyleppard · 29/09/2024 18:42

@underused that must have been awful x sending hugs x

Wallawallakoala · 29/09/2024 18:42

Mine is nowhere near as bad as some of these but a mirror on the wall next to my bed fell onto me

ConflictofInterest · 29/09/2024 18:43

Child sharing my bed vomiting over me. DH pissing the bed, loudly enough that the piss pouring through the mattress onto the floor made me thinking there was a leak pouring from the ceiling. Houseguest screaming for help in their sleep. These were on different nights thankfully.

shellyleppard · 29/09/2024 18:44

@honeyfox ewwww!!!!

shellyleppard · 29/09/2024 18:46

Woke up to the bed shaking due to an earthquake when I was pregnant......my sons dad asked if I was in labour 😳😳
Woken up many times to the cat or my sons puking.....worse bit was then stepping in it 🤢🥴

A ceiling came down on my bed during 1987 storms. I woke up spitting put plaster chunks & could see the sky through the massive hole in roof. Went down stairs, opened front door & the army was outside on the street: surreal
Otherwise, my Dd with Autism peeling my eyelids back / nose to nose: intense. Waking (dozing in hospital chair) to find Ds had been moved to high needs ward (& nobody told me ..)

Isitjustme20 · 29/09/2024 18:47

the smell of my partners fart was so strong it woke me up

FatArse123 · 29/09/2024 18:49

Stung on the face by a wasp

StormingNorman · 29/09/2024 18:51

Squirrel ran across me. I thought it was a rat at the time!

Roodawakening · 29/09/2024 18:52

A domestic abuser kicking in the door of the basement flat at 2am. I was on the first floor (Victorian terrace) and lived alone.

Oh and we were once firebombed by animal rights people in the middle of the night when I was a teenager. The person they were after no longer lived with us and we had a dog in the house - collateral damage I suppose in the realm of animal rights 🙄. Didn't sleep well for years after.

A massive crashing noise that I thought was a window breaking. Ran downstairs thinking someone was in the house (no idea what I was planning to do about it). A painting that had been in same place for 5 years had fell off the wall out of nowhere and the glass had cracked.

The fire would be terrifying :(

This reminds me of the time the painting that was hanging above me bed for years fell off in the middle of the night. Luckily the bed frame caught most of the momentum but it still hit me on the face.

StinkerTroll · 29/09/2024 18:54

Carbon monoxide monitor went off, in my rush I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle! Blinking thing wasn't going off it had just decided to enter it's death throws at 3am (it was designed to self destructed at 5 years old!)

sadnessbut · 29/09/2024 18:56

A dream where my dad was shouting at me ‘it’s 517am! You don’t even have to check but it is!!!’ It woke me with a start and I felt scared , looked at the time and when I saw it was 517 I couldn’t get back to sleep. My DB called me at 620 am to let me know our dad had passed away at around 615 am. He had been unwell for a while but wasn’t expected to die that soon. Im not sure what the significance of 517 am was though ?

MelainesLaugh · 29/09/2024 18:56

Dog being sick. It’s amazing how loud that is in the middle of the night.

I once went on a very rough 18-30s holiday with a friend to help her get over a breakup. We were woken up many times that week by the couple next door rowing. We still quote what they were arguing about to each other. It was like a pair of 8 year olds

mumofbun · 29/09/2024 18:56

A car screeching round the corner our house is on at high speed and then crashing into the house opposite! Was a drunk driver during lockdown - amazing he survived!

The dog sick noise is enough to wake me from the deepest slumber! As soon as I hear that rumbling, gagging noise I am STRAIGHT out of the bed and directing him to the en-suite so he can vomit on the tiles instead of the carpet!

Dearg · 29/09/2024 18:59

An unknown man knocking on my window offering a BJ.

I was young and single. Police assumed it was a boyfriend. A boyfriend who had crossed three gardens and some high walls to get to my window.

Dontcallmescarface · 29/09/2024 19:00

A heart attack.

bringslight · 29/09/2024 19:00

Pregnant, the bed next to the window. A huge cracking sound and something braking off a wall, finally something fell next to me. It was the curtain with the whole curtain rail suddenly falling - the screws somehow found the curtain very heavy for its size. It made so much noise that my husband thought someone is breaking in and went and in his sleep automatically opened the front door and said to the night air: who are you

OneRealOchreHiker · 29/09/2024 19:01

Burglar smashing my patio door with a hammer at 2 am…glass everywhere and dog in bed with my daughter.

pseudonymyname · 29/09/2024 19:01

I woke up in the night feeling like I'd been burned. There was a big fang mark on my arm about a cm across. The house I was staying in had both rats and giant spiders at the time

Chessfan · 29/09/2024 19:02

WetBandits · 29/09/2024 18:25

Me. Grin

I was watering the plants in my dream, but actually just dumped a full pint of water in the bed in the middle of the night.

That's actually brilliant 😁

pseudonymyname · 29/09/2024 19:03

Just thinking as well rats don't have fangs

SmallGoddess · 29/09/2024 19:04

DS who was having paranoid delusions, insisting we had to leave the house immediately because "they" were coming to kill us.
