A fire

Worst, definitely cat being sick, nothing wakes you up faster!!

Most alarming was Red deer barking / grunting outside my tent. I was wildcamping on my own on a deserted loch side and it was dark, around 2am. I had no idea deer made that noise and woke wondering if Scotland had wild boar! After some deliberation I put my big girl pants on and grabbed my torch before I unzipped the tent, I was so relieved to deer staring back at me!

The roof falling on my bed when I was 4 I was terrified, and couldn't work out why I couldn't get out of bed

1. A really bad bite from a False widow spider
2. Police helicopter very low and overhead when I lived next door to a women's refuge
3. Police using that battering ram thing to get access to flat next door when I rented on a rough housing estate.
4. Drunk man verbally and physically assaulting a woman opposite my house at about 2am one Friday night

A drunk man broke my front door down and ran straight into my bedroom at 4am. Absolutely terrifying!

The second worst thing was when my cat put her tail in my mouth and I thought it was a mouse.

Putney Hill gas blast.

An enormous crash from downstairs shortly after moving into my first house. It was the lathe and plaster ceiling. Oh the mess!

Cockroaches - a friend & I were staying in the halls of residence of a university in Paris one summer whilst inter railing & the bloody things were everywhere!

However, the funniest thing that’s ever woken me up was when pregnant I dreamt that my DD was born with a tartan cap, a full set of teeth, and could hold a conversation in full. With an incredibly strong Glaswegian accent. Reader, I am not Scottish. It woke me up, and then I woke husband up because I was howling with laughter 🤣🤣🤣

I've had a few.
The earthquake, a burglar rummaging in my dressing table drawer in the same room, the wind blowing about thirty tiles off the roof above my bed, some drunk bloke hammering on my camper van in the middle of the night, or my ex in a drunken violent temper.

A live rat next to my head that my cat had presumably brought in.

A text from my brother’s girlfriend telling me he had died suddenly in the night - she hadn’t wanted to wake me at 3am.

A phone call at 5.30am from my sister to say our mum had died. She had been ill for sometime and we knew she was dying. I'd spent the previous day and evening with her and she seemed so full of energy and chat. I should have realised then. As soon as I saw who was ringing and what time it was, I knew what she was going to say. Still felt like someone had punched me.

Our son vomiting into my mouth wasn’t the best.

A murder, I used to live in a flat in a very dodgy area, it was above shops/takeaways, someone was stabbed to death in the hallway, the murderer got into one of the flats so we had to get out very quickly while we had the chance.

The phone ringing at 4.30am on a day in April last year. It was the hospital my Dad was in telling us to get there now as he had taken a turn for the worse. Being a nurse I know they always ring and say that and that he was already gone. That hours journey was the worst of my life.

Being raped. A fire. A burglar downstairs.
