Well that didn't work, DS1 came back in with us and kept me awake, now DH has taken him downstairs DS2 wants another feed - ARG!

"Lally* we did some sleep training with DS1 from quite early on, he was a terrible nap refuser. We did very minimal controlled crying and it really worked for him. DS2 ends up yelling for longer just while I deal with DS1 sometimes, but he generally settles himself, just doesn't sleep long. DS1 has been an excellent sleeper from about 6m up until DS2 arrived so the sleep training worked - I can't work out what to do now with two of them!

fizzingwhizbee · 30/12/2017 07:16

Helloooo

Can I join you? DS2 is 8 months and still waking 4-5 times a night and up at 5/6am for the day.

I'm just so tired! DS1 wasn't a great sleeper but gradually improved and was sleeping through by about 11 months.

DS2 has just been a bad sleeper from day 1 with no signs of improving any time soon 😩

Ceesadoo · 30/12/2017 07:59

Welcome @fizzingwhizbee. You're in good company.

Sakura03 · 30/12/2017 09:01

This is how the night went for ds and myself...
23.30-1.40am. 2 hrs10min.
3.05am.- 3.49. 44 min
5.18-7.05. 1hr 47 min
7.33-8.45 1hr 12 min
=5 hrs 53 minutes of sleep. Could have done without the long breaks in between... ds took several attempts to settle and eventually I decided to lie down and feed ds so that I could get some more sleep.

I'm rikkeuk on Insta.

NinaMarieP · 30/12/2017 09:14

Sounds like a lot of crap nights were had then.

Our sleeping went to shit after the 16 week jabs I'm sorry to say @HashtagTired. He had a cold two days after that lasted a couple of weeks and he's only just started having a few good nights again last week (20 weeks old or 21 weeks developmentally).

I'm up. I feel awful. A head cold has arrived. I'm so tired. Ds was tag teaming by boobs constantly from around 5am. I need a good nights sleep.

Oh how I dream of sleep.

Meepmoop · 30/12/2017 09:51

Well that was the worst night. Awake every hour while co sleeping. I hope this is a one off or I am screwed.

DS woke at 7am and was squirming. I put him in his cot and went and slept in the spare room for an hour. DH was still in with him sleeping. I feel bad but I just needed time away. He started crying loudly so DH has sorted him out and took him downstairs.

Sounds like I might need to get up
And feed him but I just can't move

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 11:07

@Lally I am a softie. I did consider sleep training at one point, but I couldn't do it. Probably not the best idea atm, anyway, what with DD's suspected CMPA.

DD slept for over an hr in the pram 😲

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 11:10

We had a shit (literally as well) night here. Up every 2 hours where I was getting used to 4 hr stretches

Jellybean2017 · 30/12/2017 12:33

Crap night here but had two hours sleep while DH took baby. Dreading him going back to work. House is a right state and Xmas tree is dying so need to get rid of that too! Never thought I'd dream of having a few hours to get the house in order 😉🙈

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/12/2017 14:51

Hi all. Sounds like some difficult nights, much Cake for you all.

Slightly better night here. DS dust take too long to settle after his initial midnight waking. Two more feeds after that but he went back into his cot and slept! Jellybean I know what you mean - DH has been taking DS every morning for as long as he can manage before DS wakes, I had a 3 hour stretch today! Really not lookingforward to him being back at work.

Now lying in bed with DS on me and enjoying the sound of the rain...

theotherendofthesockportal · 30/12/2017 15:41

@Jellybean2017 I posted in another thread that it looks like a Santa's grotto/ mothercare bomb has gone off in my house. I'm itching to get on top of the cleaning but DD won't allow me to. I curse the days when I was child free and never organised my house.

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 15:47

@Jellybean My DH has gone back to the UK under strict instruction to blitz the house. It looked like a war zone when we left before Christmas and the spare room was a laundry room/tip 😂

DD had 2 naps in the pram today and is currently asleep on me. Yay.

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 17:11

Think we just found a dummy DD tolerates a bit more...it's a natural rubber one. Surprised.

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 18:12

The night time is looming.

Ding ding. Who's up for round two?

Bring it. 💪💪💪

I know it's going to be a rubbish night. But I'm trying to be optimistic about it!!

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 18:35

Not looking forward to the night shift 😭

Meepmoop · 30/12/2017 19:34

DS has got another cold!! He's so bunged up. Explains last night.

Tonight is definitely going to be looong.

My fingers and toes are crossed for everyone

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/12/2017 19:38

Nooooo...I'm not ready and I don't want to enter the ring! Challenging evening with DS cluster feeding and DD kicking off over dinner and refusing to eat any of it. Am exhausted already...

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 20:06

And we'll need to set up another thread soon!

Jellybean2017 · 30/12/2017 20:11

Here we go again...! I'm knackered. Hope we all get a better night tonight... Not off to a very good start here, he's really fussing.

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 20:22

DD is in the cot. She will most certainly wake as soon as I shut my eyes.

Jellybean2017 · 30/12/2017 20:26

DS asleep on me. Dare I move him...

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 20:28

Good luck everyone. Fingers crossed 🤞

AMagdalena · 30/12/2017 20:30

Goood luuucckkkkk. I am going to make the most of the 5 minutes I have left before my sleep thief wakes.

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 21:03

Well I was about to embark on a delicious 4 hours of sleep before dh brought ds up to me. But dd had other ideas and was being noisy in her bedroom, playing. I'm bloody furious as she woke me up despite me warning her to be quiet and I gave her the benefit of the doubt as she wanted to play with a tea set in her bed. I let her but I'm cross now because she woke me up with it and I should have just taken it off her. I'm angry at myself really. But now I'm wide awake. Dh came upstairs to sort her out and then ds woke up downstairs screaming. Only boob would do so now I'm sat up in my stupid horrible (I hate it) bed feeding ds when I should be asleep.

I had two hours broken sleep last night. I'm bunged up with head cold and I just want to bloody sleep.

Now I have back ache sitting up feeding in this stupid bed and I know ds will be difficult to settle again tonight, like last night, because he's in this sleep regression thingy and wants to be cuddled and fed all night.

Ffs.
