Noooooo ad targeting. I do not want those knickers or a belly wrap.

Meepmoop · 29/12/2017 21:33

How are everyone's Ewan the sheep holding up, are they making a difference?

I'm wondering if I should get one but not sure if I've left it too late.

I wish I had Instagram to join in with you all.

Jellybean2017 · 29/12/2017 21:59

@meepmoop we've never had much success with Ewan but I know some of her mums on here swear by him and his back left leg. Maybe try the sound sleeper app first to see if baby responds well to white noise 😊

Catscatsandmorecats · 29/12/2017 22:32

Hello, can I join the fun? Between DS1 (3) and DS2 (3m) I have been up now since 4.30 this morning. I've got an upset stomach so as soon as I get comfortable to sleep the baby wakes again for another feed. If we have a good night with the baby, DS1 inevitably wakes and apparently only I can help. I am wrecked,!

Meepmoop · 29/12/2017 23:49

@Jellybean2017 I've tried a white noise app once before but didn't work. Maybe I need to persevere with different ones. Wasn't sure if Ewan was different.

No luck with sleep tonight. DS will go in the cot but only if I lie my arm and hand on his chest. Can't sleep like that and it's uncomfortable so he may as well be on me

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 30/12/2017 00:11

@NinaMarieP I'd be interested to hear how you get on (with the calpol, not the knickers) as dd has been up every 2 hrs or less for the last week. It's like actual clockwork. I'm so so tired. @Catscatsandmorecats I feel for you, I had noro just before Xmas and it was sheer hell. Luckily DD was on good form and didn't mind being unceremoniously dumped wherever I stopped so I could sprint to the loo. I'm so shattered I'm really struggling to express and go back to work in Jan - next week!! Really thought we'd be in a better place by now.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 30/12/2017 00:12

Ooh also @Jellybean2017 we use brown noise as lower pitch than white and seems to work well, we use a paid app on a mini iPad on airplane mode.

Catscatsandmorecats · 30/12/2017 01:31

pigeon it's relentless isn't it?! We currently have a humidifier on next to he crib due to DS2's cough and cold which seems to help (as does calpol) but for some reason tonight it is very hot and our room us like a Turkish steam bath. Until we opened the door to let the room cool down DS2 was waking every hour. Now has just gone 2.5, which is very good for him, although my stomach ache has been keeping me awake for a lot of that. We're into the DS1 waking zone as well now, please everyone send him stay alseep vibes!

Talking about white noise etc, I fear we may never sleep without the humidifier again, as even if his cough ever clears up, he seems to like the noise!

Sakura03 · 30/12/2017 01:35

@Catscatsandmorecats hope you feel better soon, just had v&d bug myself bit only one child to deal with.
@anotherexhaustedpigeon - never heard of brown noise?
Ds very clingy all evening and wanted to feed constantly when not nodding off on my lap which meant several family members suggested formula....
Successfully transferred him to the cot after 2 attempt and slept from 11.20pm to 2.10am!!! So happy Smile
Just given him a clean nappy and feed and will try and go back to sleep

Want to join you all on Insta but can't remember my username will check Smile

NinaMarieP · 30/12/2017 01:42

Could be coincidence @anotherexhaustedpigeon but tonight he slept for an hour longer than the past 2-3 nights and then a further solid hour in my arms after waking up. So a huge improvement.

So frustrated with the cold though. It's 17.7 in our bedroom and that's with the heating on. His cheeks and ears were cold when I picked him up and that was with a blanket on top of a 2.5 tot sleeping bag.

Hi all waves sleepily

@cats much sympathy on the tummy upset. Nothing worse than being ill and in charge of a non sleeping baby. Hope you start to feel better very soon.

I've run out of fcks to give tonight. Another early first feed, and my neck is painful again. I'm just getting through it and telling myself that this too shall pass...

At least I have new Insta accounts to stalk to pass the time Grin

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 02:00

@Meepmoop we love Ewan's back left leg here!

Sorry I've not been around much. It's not because of great sleep, I can assure you! I've actually come to confess a guilty pleasure! I downloaded a silly farm game and I've found it oddly addictive. I've been growing virtual crops and milking virtual cows. I'm not normally someone who gets sucked into these things but it keeps me busy during the night feeds and so makes time fly.

Ds is being a monkey tonight. I've tried two sleepy transfers from arms to pod but he's woken up about 20 mins later. Which is like torture. It's long enough for me to disassemble my pillows and lie down ready for sleep, and just to start getting comfy and shut my eyes ... then he shuffles and wakes. Sigh. On transfer number 3 so waiting a little longer this time in case he wakes again.

He's 16 weeks now. Had his jabs Friday afternoon. Not sure if that has something to do with it. Sigh.

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 02:04

@anotherexhaustedpigeon brown noise is new to me. In my head it's something quite different!

💩 💨

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 02:07

Oh. And I must add.... I hate my bed.

But. Newsflash! Dh has agreed we can buy a new one! Hurrah! Been bed shopping today and online. Just need to convince him that the slightly more (read: quite a bit more) expensive bed is the right one for us! 👌

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 02:10

Right. Ds has made it past 25 mins asleep and seems quite settled. I'm going to try get some sleep now too as every minute I'm awake now is eating into my sleep time.

Oooh. Also to add, ds has been a bit more regular on the poo front these last couple of weeks. Used to be a once-a-week kinda guy but is now trending to once every 2/3 days. I even had an after feed in the middle of the night farty poo, and I did think you you lovely ladies who have to deal with pooey post feed night nappies more often than me!

Off to check on my virtual crops and cows before I sleep 🙈

Jellybean2017 · 30/12/2017 02:27

Hi @hashtagtired 😊 hope the virtual farming went well and you're now sleeping soundly! Or as soundly as you can in the current bed! Good news about a new one!

Haha brown noise! DS certainly makes plenty of that 💩 will have to try playing some though, thanks for recommendation 😊

Not having a great night here. He won't lay next to me. And is waking every hour. It's raining heavily so not sure if the noise on windows is waking us. Just changed nappy and he was wide awake smiling and playing with his feet 🙈 then he sneezed, he loves sneezing, it makes him giggle! Not such a fan of others sneezing, that usually freaks him out!

Meepmoop · 30/12/2017 02:40

@Jellybean2017 my DS is being exactly the same I've seen every hour so far and co sleeping isn't happening either

I just want a block of sleep even two hours will be lovely

Jellybean2017 · 30/12/2017 02:42

@meepmoop totally agree. Two hours would be lovely. Definitely waking DH up to take the baby at 6am!!

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 30/12/2017 02:54

Ahaha yeah it's a whole new level of brown noise for us too! Apparently there's pink noise, violet noise etc - who knew?!
So we've been up every hour so far, and dd screams and refuses the boob for about 5mins, then feeds and instantly passes out cold. Wtf?!

@HashtagTired I hope you are sound asleep right now! So DH and I decided to buy a new bed when we moved in to our current home, spent ages researching and eventually decided on super fancy expensive sleigh bed, and then got it as an ex-display on eBay for 1/3 of the price - best thing we've ever done for sure! turns out sleigh beds are a little bit creaky but we don't talk about that cos it looks incredible and it super comfy

Off to attempt cot transfer... see y'all in an hour....

sleepycat13 · 30/12/2017 02:54

hey all. it's been a while since I have been in here. not because DS has slept well (he hasnt) but because I have been limiting phone use at night time. anyway it's been an odd night and I'm now wide awake trying to settle a giggly now 13 week old who clearly does not think it's sleep time any more. have been awake since 1.30 now. I'm tempted to just leave him in the cot but he doesn't know how to self settle yet. please baby go to sleep.

HashtagTired · 30/12/2017 03:30

Am awake again. Sigh.

That was 1 hour and 28 minutes of sleep. But more like 40 minutes for me as I had him in my arms for the first 30 mins.

He's making some strange noises tonight. Not normal cries, but more like strains and he's getting really frustrated. I'm tempted to give him calpol as he does have a cold but I'll hold off for a little bit. I'm meant to be going to Pilates in the morning but at this rate, I'm opting for sleep! So so tired.

anotherexhaustedpigeon · 30/12/2017 03:47

Aaaannnd I'm back 🤬🤬🤬🤬

xXKXx · 30/12/2017 04:21

My DD is generally a good sleeper. Wakes up 1/2 times during night for feed (10 weeks old) sometimes I do a night feed and find it difficult to get back to sleep. DD goes back to sleep straight away. Tonight if obviously one of those nights where I'm wide awake after a night feed Sad

Catscatsandmorecats · 30/12/2017 06:10

I'm beginning to feel like a fraud, DS2 went another 2 hours nicely in his cot. DS1 is now up for the day and told DH to go away and came into our bed while I tried to wind the baby. I have dreadful sweats, worse than normal BF ones, I think it's this tummy thing. Now have spent 45 minutes (interrupted by toilet dashes) with DS1 trying to encourage him back to sleep. Hopefully he'll stay quiet until his sun comes up on his gro clock now and I can join DH and DS2 who are snoring away...

New beds and something to help the time pass sound bloody brilliant. I hope you get the one you want pigeon. hashtagtired I have done calpol, rubbed snuffle babe vapour rub on his chest and have a humidifier on, the combination does seem to help the phlegm and snot situation, definitely worth trying something. DS2 would not be down in his crib without it.

Right, time to try for some more sleep.....

Lallypopstick · 30/12/2017 06:38

Is anyone with an older baby thinking about sleep training yet? The only thing that seems to be helping us survive leap 5 is bed sharing which I don’t want to do forever. Like every parent, I don’t want to do anything cruel, but he’s waking up so often at the beginning of the night now and I’m not getting the long chunks I used to (9-1 or 2am). I’ve got a Fitbit too, and seeing my sleep mapped out is depressing.
