DD was up every 2 hours last night. She was also playing with her feet ar 4am.
Is this leap 5? Hmm

AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 08:04

@WhoAteAllThePercyPigs My DD did 5 mins in the cot last night. Just as you begin to think you've won the battle, the eyes ping open!

Sakura03 · 29/12/2017 09:52

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs I'm so sorry you had a rubbish night. It all sounds so familiar doing several cot transfers when ds appears fast asleep on my lap and as soon as he's in his cot all the grunting noises begin followed by crying...
I made the mistake of going to bed really late last night as I was sitting chatting to my mum (who is a proper night owl) enjoying some coffee and treats. However, ds had been nodding off when feeding so when trying to transfer him he woke up as soon as he hit the bedsheets.. We've sleeping on the floor in my mum's lounge so that ds could sleep/feed with me but every time he woke during the night he started fussing/fighting the boob and eventually screaming so I had to get up and feed him on the sofa... At least we can take it easy today. My dp is still resting in bed, he looks so rough. We've booked new tickets to fligh home on Sunday morning.

@Meepmoop sounds like you had a tough night too...
@Jellybean2017 how was your night?

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 09:57

My non-sleeper lasted 40 minutes after we moved the snuzpod through to the bedroom. Slept with him in my arms until his 2am feed and even then he woke up every thirty minutes 😰

Sounds like a great night was had by all. Cant wait til it starts getting lighter earlier again. At least it won't feel like we're living in a perpetual night.

Anyone read this book? (Pic attached) 'The Gentle Sleep Book' by Sarah Ockwell-Smith. Amazon delivered it yesterday after someone on my Instagram recommended it.

Are any of you sleepless mamas on IG? I guess Mumsnet is supposed to remain fairly anonymous but part of me would love to see the faces of the ladies and their sleep stealing babies who post on here.

Ceesadoo · 29/12/2017 10:21

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs Ugh those relentless unsuccessful transfers to crib/whatev at 2/3am are killer. It's at that point where the inner raaaage can start to kick in but then they look at your with their big helpless eyes and blink their perfect Pixar blink and if they're old enough they smile and somehow we manage to scoop them up and do it all again.

Ceesadoo · 29/12/2017 10:24

@Lallypopstick nooooo leap 5 brings the same as leap 4 with sleep? I have not missed those 3.30 wide awake smiley kicky parties for one.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 29/12/2017 10:40

Hey ladies thanks so much for your kind words of support! It means so much to me and keeps me going.

Sorry to hear of the other bad nights. I handed DS over to DH at 5.30 and got sleep till 8.45 so that helped. Guess the problem is DS only wants to sleep in my arms. Thankful at least it's only the second half of the night and he's still going down in his sleepyhead for the first part for now.

My neck and back are killing me from all the feeding and twisting about.

Got a festive play date with toddlers and babies at ours this morning! So big flurry to get house sorted, thank god for DH helping. Considered cancelling but it's ages since I saw some of these friends and it will do us good.

Ceesado I am on Instagram! If you message me your username I can find you and I'll let you know mine?

Not read that book but heard very good things about it.

Lallypopstick · 29/12/2017 11:05

Ceesadoo I have that book. It doesn’t really have much in the way of advice but reframes things so you don’t mind the sleep deprivation so much.

In terms of Leap 5, sleep has been mixed. We’ve had some reasonable nights with 2-3 wake ups, one 7 hour stretch and then last night. He is making a lot of developments at the moment though - sitting up longer unsupported, rolling over etc. So I’m trying to be positive!

Jellybean2017 · 29/12/2017 11:10

@sakura03 not too bad, I have just tried to accept he won't sleep on his own. It's not so bad at night but it's when I want to get stuff done during the day that I mind most. DH tried to put him in the cot for first nap this morning but was unsuccessful.

I'm also on insta if anyone wants to swap user names! 😊

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 12:49

I'm on instagram too ~waves~ well, I have Instagram but I hardly use it now. I could add some photos for you guys though.

AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 12:50

I'm also on insta, but don't know how to message people on mumsnet :s

AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 12:51

Argh just figured it out

AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 14:07

Settled DD for a nap in the travel cot. Sang a christmas carol to her about a 100 times, but it worked. She's in her non sleeping bag, too. Probably a one-off, bug I'll take it!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 29/12/2017 14:14

Playdate DONE! House looks like a bomb hit it (obvs every toy had to be taken out and then discarded) and DD is on a sugar high (tried to stick to healthy snacks until my friend arrived bearing a very visible box of biscuits - DD might not read but she can recognise a treat at 100 yards) but it was worth it. Now trying to get everyone to nap and hopes of building a snowman this afternoon.

For anyone who adds me on Instagram, must warn you I'm a bit of a social media whore - i post a lot! Stopped using Facebook so much as it's getting quite samey and boring so Insta is my new addiction....

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 17:35

If anyone wants to follow me just add 67 to my Mumsnet username (I had forgotten that's what I used on IG!)

Lallypopstick · 29/12/2017 18:21

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 20:17

Someone with 89 in their username has filled me on insta, who is it? I've followed back but would like to put a username to the face lol

OP posts:
AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 20:27

@Nina it's me!

AMagdalena · 29/12/2017 20:28

And DD lasted 50mins in the cot. She want mummy, clearly. Straight back to sleep when I lied down with her ❤

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 20:46

I'm going to have to write down who everyone is on insta 😂

We've had a super grumpy day with tons of naps. Have given calpol at his last feed in the hope it helps him sleep better, as something is clearly bothering him.

Jellybean2017 · 29/12/2017 20:49

Me too @ninamariep!

So many cute babies! You'd never believe they were such sleep thiefs 😂

NinaMarieP · 29/12/2017 20:52

Sooo need this now I've had a baby.
