Up every 2 hours 💩💩💩

NinaMarieP · 28/12/2017 01:45

We had a few good nights in a row and I thought maybe we had turned some sort of corner but no.

He woke at 10.45 (I fell asleep about 10 after putting him down at 9.30ish).

He woke at 11.25.

He woke every ten minutes until 12.30.

I lay down with him in my arms and he still woke up every 15-20 minutes.

And now he's feeding so by the time he's done I'll have been up three fucking hours and I have a wedding tomorrow. Seriously done with this shit. Why won't be just fucking sleep. He's not hungry. He's not cold. He didn't have wind. He didn't cry unless I let him squirm for too long without intervening.

Athough lacking in energy after v & d bug I feel a lot better and we went to visit my brother, sil and 8 month old nephew and finally had our Christmas dinner and exchanged presents. Half way through the evening my dp started to feel unwell and had to have a carrier bag with him in case he felt sick in the car back to my mum's. Getting back to my mum's he throws up as we approached the driveway and rushed our of the car to get to the toilet, the next thing he is on the floor. I rushed to help him back on his feed and once we've got through the front door he passes out again!!! I got so scared but he was okay and needed help to get to the toilet. Poor dp had a very bad case of the v&d bug!!! At one point he has crawling to the toilet as he had no energy to walk... I'm so glad I had my mum there so she could look after ds whilst I attended my dp and made sure he's okay. We're due to fligh back home tomorrow morning but that all depends now on whether dp has recovered and got the energy to travel back...
My mum was amazing, she settled ds into his cot and he slept from 00.20 until 3.30am.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/12/2017 03:55

Oh my goodness Sakura thst sounds very dramatic, your poor DP! These bugs are just awful and have no mercy. Really hope you're able to get more sleep.

Sorry you're having such a tough night Nina Meep and Magdalena. We got off to a more promising start than last night with first feed at 1.45. But he's been awake ever since! Tbf this is his 'thing', being awake for a good two hours at least in the small hours. I've tried everything to get him back to sleep. Boob, white noise, dummy, rocking. But none of it works! Despite my best intentions not to, I am getting extremely frustrated. I thought breast milk was meant to have sleep inducing hormones or something?? Mine must have missed out on that!

My head hurts...

Ceesadoo · 28/12/2017 05:21

@Sakura03 sounds so awful! My dad and step mum has the norovirus recently and my dad passed out from that too like your husband. Horrible bug.

Ceesadoo · 28/12/2017 06:34

*sorry, partner.

Anyone get a good night's sleep? I am rejoicing because my baby has finally reached the end of leap 4 🙌🙌🙌🙌

AMagdalena · 28/12/2017 07:09

Crap night here! 💩💩💩

actino · 28/12/2017 07:50

Good night from 12-5, crap since then. It's partly because we are at the in laws and the bedroom is absolutely freezing (which is saying a lot because our bedroom at home in Scotland is unheated and perfect for me).

I'm tasking Dh with locating a space heater before tomorrow night.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/12/2017 08:35

Probably not a great night by normal standards but a big improvement on the previous one as I actually slept!! DS WOKE at 1.45 for first feed, was awake till 4.15 slept till 5.30...then I handed him over to DH for two hours so I could sleep Grin DS seems better in himself and more settled.

Jellybean2017 · 28/12/2017 08:36

Think we saw every hour last night 🙈

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/12/2017 08:36

Nina did you get some sleep? Hope you'll be ok for the wedding today....

NinaMarieP · 28/12/2017 09:18

I went to the spare room around 2.30 and managed three hours, my OH took over baby duty and had just as bad a time of it.

I heard the wake-up-and-scream at 6, 6.30, 7.10 and 7.45 when he finally took a bottle so it was only dozing between those.

It's like a bad movie sequel : Sleep Regression 2

So according to Wonder Weeks, Leap 5 begins today 🙈

NinaMarieP · 28/12/2017 18:25

We've got about a week to leap five... it feels like leap 4 has barely ended!!

OP posts:
HashtagTired · 28/12/2017 20:01

Ds had his jabs this afternoon, the nasty 16 week ones. He was fine until he just woke up from his nap and yelled and yelled and yelled and yelled and yelled and refused the bottle and yelled and yelled some more. So I'm now sat in bed with him on my boob having just given him some calpol.

Goes without saying that I'm in for a crappy night (as is he, bless him)

Ceesadoo · 28/12/2017 20:36

People say leap 5 can be worse than leap 4. I find that hard to believe.

Jellybean2017 · 28/12/2017 20:54

We are also approaching leap 5. Plus baby still won't self settle. He did sleep in the pram for 30 minutes earlier today though. So that's something! All other naps were on me as usual! He's asleep now so I expect he will be awake again before midnight 🙈

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 28/12/2017 21:44

Not sure where we are in leaps - DS is 8 weeks tomorrow but only four and half weeks corrected. Think I'll only depress myself if I look!

Fingers crossed for better nights...

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/12/2017 21:56

My DD has appeared to give up on proper day time sleeps altogether. She only sleeps for 20mins at a time. I feel like I'm loosing my mind :(

Meepmoop · 28/12/2017 23:30

DS is merrily happy shouting and gurgling away in his cot. Hoping he'll get sleepy soon..

Meepmoop · 29/12/2017 00:08

DS is no longer shouting merrily, he's now screaming and crying at the top of his lungs.

Long night ahead...

I'm in week one of leap 5, 22 days to go apparently.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 29/12/2017 03:16

Yet another frustrating few hours of trying to get DS back to sleep after feed 1. Tried three cot transfers...Nothing doing. Can seem fast asleep then starts grunting, whining and ultimately crying. It's so annoying!! I'd rather he was going back to sleep even just for an hour as I'd at least be getting some sleep in between! I am deeply envious of anyone getting two hours between feeds right now, that would be amazing!

I don't know what to do. After 5 am ish I don't feel too bad about letting him sleep on me and me sleeping also. Feels like a lighter and therefore safer sleep. But at this hour I'm so exhausted I'm scared I might go into a deep sleep.

He's 8 weeks today and sleep has just been getting progressively worse. How can that be?? I'm having to accept that I just seem to breed very poor sleepers...

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 29/12/2017 04:24

Well he did 45 fucking minutes in his cot. Woop de doo. I didn't sleep. After he's fed I'm just going to put him on my chest and to hell with the risk. The state I'm in right now I can't even function and I'm feeling so frustrated and stressed it can't be good for him.

Assuming from the silence that good nights are being had? Which is good...but misery loves company Grin

Lallypopstick · 29/12/2017 04:49

I’m in Leap 5. I’ve been awake two hours with a wide awake and smiley baby. Similar to leap 4 for me.

Jellybean2017 · 29/12/2017 06:39

Not too bad here @Whoateallthepercypigs, sorry to read you're having a bad one. DS has been sleeping on my chest tonight as he just screamed when I laid him down. No idea how I will ever get him sleeping in his own cot. Think we were up every two hours or so, I can cope with that. Just trying to get him back to sleep for one more snooze!!
