I agree ven

theotherendofthesockportal · 19/11/2017 12:00

@Ven83 my husband works with heavy machinery so needs to be wide awake. He is more use to me alive. If he had a desk job I would make him share the nights. I am now very resentful of his career choice.

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 12:54

Give me strength. Explaining how baby won't nap/sleep without us jiggling him about in the sling etc. Cue "have you tried ..." yes! Of course we bloody have! Argghhhh!

My DH had an office based job and goes on train to work so could nap, however he does sometimes drive so I like to make sure he gets enough sleep. Also if he is getting sleep it means he can take over early morning or in the evening after work. Our baby is just so fussy at the moment though. He is always screaming and we don't know why! I have just fed him and he has gone off to sleep after several hours fighting it. My lunch is getting cold but no way I'm waking him up. Hope you lovely ladies are having better days than us!

NinaMarieP · 19/11/2017 12:54

I did the 1am feed then went to sleep in the spare room at 2am. Didn’t get up until nearly 10am. I was awake for a while at 5 & 7 as I could hear my LO crying but it hardly counts as I hardly opened my eyes.

My OH was up and down with him from 5am onwards so I think he’s starting to understand what my life is like 😈😈

Lovingtyrells · 19/11/2017 13:19

I find it easier with no one around too. I think it’s because I feel anxious about people making everything worse with the sleep. Passing around the baby increasing the over tiredness. Last night I was up every hour. I was really uncomfortable and every time I moved DS woke up. Need to get baby in the cot !!!

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 15:26

We will need another new thread soon 😂 the family visit is over and we are left with a mountain of washing up 🙈🙈🙈

Jellybabie3 · 19/11/2017 15:31

My in laws have yet to arrive. Were meant to be here at 2pm Angry

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 15:33

Omg Jellybabie3 I would be raging! 😡 hope they are not planning to stay long!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 19/11/2017 16:07

Totally get what you all mean about family visiting. Yesterday my mum wound DD to a point of hyper excitement...Right before her nap. Which we then had to deal with. My parents just don't always seem to get how much of a huge issue sleep is for us. I'm using DS as an excuse to hide in the bedroom right now, he's sleeping and I'm enjoying a hot coffee and my kindle!

Also yes to the complaints about partners! Don't get me wrong, DH is brilliant with DD and does a lot for us. But when it comes to sleep...ha! He's sleeping in the spare room 'to be there for DD' but she's now sleeping through so apart from the occasional night where she might need comfort, he's getting his zzzz in no bother. Then he complains how tired he is! I know there's not much he can do because, breastfeeding, but still. My sister in law had her baby the same day as DS arrived, and her hubby gets up at 4am to make her tea and toast during feeding marathons!! Tbf my DH is very grumpy on lack of sleep...but it's no picnic for me either!

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 19/11/2017 16:08

Jellybabie that is bloody unacceptable! I'd be raging!!

Jellybabie3 · 19/11/2017 16:10

Still not here Angry despite a call to say defo before 4pm. Ds is asleep. They can run and jump if they think they're waking him. Last night was bad enuf

AMagdalena · 19/11/2017 16:46

Jellybean is your DS going through a leap? My DD is generally happy now, but doing weird stuff on the boob 😂

We had a good day. Went to the xmas market and for a coffee. And to the church. DD didn't make a peep throughout the service.
DD was as good as gold and managed to fit 2 naps in in the pram. Would have been unthinkable a couple of weeks ago.
However, DD has thrown up all over me as I am typing this.

AMagdalena · 19/11/2017 16:54

Jellybabie I hate it when people are late. To be honest, I don't have people round past 5pm as DD needs to calm down before her bath, but FIL insists on coming over EVERY Friday evening.

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 16:57

Poo report: he did one today. It was EPIC.
He was in his car seat whilst dd was running around soft play with friends. His face went red and he shuffled a bit. A-ha! I thought, that’s boots be poo! So I took him to baby changing and looked in the nappy. It was only a small poo. Just as I was cleaning his bum, more poo was coming out! It was like a sausage machine. Poooooooo. Loads of it! I ditched the wet wipes and grabbed a loo roll and was scooping it out if his nappy and dumping in the loo and it just kept on coming out!! I went through three nappies, half a pack of wet wipes and a load of loo roll.

Good grief, that was a lot of poo.
That’ll be him done for another week now. Needless to say he’s been asleep since! 😂

We need to start a new thread soon. Make sure we post the link at the end of this one so we don’t lose anyone.

I'm amazed your DS only does one poo hashtag mine is more of a 6 a day poo baby. His poo at 11am DH calls a dino dump as its like something unhuman too.

Btw in laws came at 4.35 and stayed for 20mins as DS was asleep they decided they were too full for tea and 'Should leave us to it'. MIL looks fuming she didnt get a cuddle. We are fuming we wasted our day waiting. On the plus we have a kg of pork and 12 scones to smash through. Wtf though right? Like couples with babies dont have enough to deal with.

AMagdalena · 19/11/2017 17:10

I'd be well peed off, Jellybabie

Jellybabie3 · 19/11/2017 17:18

Dh told em he had a bad night so we were reluctant to do anything that would wake him. He had a 3 hour nap this morn and has been asleep an hour now. Albeit on me so i am not sleeping but its more important he catches up. He mustve had 2 hours sleep last night. I dont think we are being unreasonable. We are shattered after last night. They live 10min away too so hardly had to go out of way. Annoyed dh cooked

Jellybabie3 · 19/11/2017 17:19

Anyway....rant over. Hope everyone's OK and gearing up for tonight

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 19/11/2017 17:25

Wow that's quite a poo story Hashtag!

We had our first bullseye wee from DS when we were changing him earlier. Well, DH was doing the honours when I heard him shout - DS got him straight in the face with his wee 😂

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 17:28

What a crappy day @Jellybabie3 I’d be pissed off at all that malarkey.

I’m showered and dressed for bed 🤘
Pie and chips for tea tonight. Can’t be arsed with anything more than that.

I really want a glass of wine. Has anyone else had a drink when bf?
Thing is, if I have a glass now, I’d need to have a glass for the next four nights so as to not waste the bottle and dh doesn’t like red (which is what I’m craving)

@HashtagTired that poo story! Omg! Im so glad DS is a many poo a day kind of baby :p little and often!

Evening begins here for us he’s having his bottle feed before we try and get him to sleep... he’s not napped much at all today and been a bit sad and grumpy for it I think too... he’s cried at DP sneezing more than once today which is definitely a tiredness sign... really hoping he gets some good sleep in tonight... am wondering if this is Leap 4 kicking in for us....

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 17:31

Oh that’s priceless Percy.
One story to keep hold of for when they are older 😂😂😂

AMagdalena · 19/11/2017 17:32

@Hashtag I haven't had a drink as DD feeds very much on demand! Having said that I bought a bottle of lovely non-alcoholic Cabernet Sauvignon from Sainsbury's a couple of weeks ago. Was it called Eisenberg? Can't remember. It tasted just a little less bitter as the real stuff.
I am dying for grass vodka with apple juice, though. First drink I am going to have when we wean.

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 17:34

@AMagdalena yes I think perhaps he might be going thru leap 3... But he has always been grumpy, he's grumpiness than ever!

Haha your poo story made me smile Hashtag! Always happens when you are out! I have had the odd drink would breastfeeding, not often though. Will be tonight as going to theatre with my mum 😊 think DH is dreading it!

Jellybabie3 I would be so annoyed. But on the bright side enjoy your feast!

I feel that the new thread ought to incorporate Ewans rear left leg 😂
