2nd feed

Mega fussy and I really need a wee....

I’m sure cosleeping gives me really weird dreams...

Gierg · 19/11/2017 03:00

Bollocks and that’s him pinged awake looking fresh and ready to start the day.... gahhhh

Got DP to change him and I’m hoping he’ll come back for some boobing and a bit of dozing.... I can’t start my day at 4am (am an hour ahead as I live in Denmark :p)

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 03:04

@toonewtobehaving2 my DS has been fussing like that recently. I think his gums are sore though...

Welcome @gierg 😊 hope you manage to escape for a wee haha! My dreams are pretty vivid but I put it down to being exhausted and therefore going into a really deep sleep when I can sleep... Not sure though.

Our night has been terrible/good for me so far. DS would not settle was screaming the house down between 10 and 11ish. Nothing we did would soothe him so DH put him in the sling and took him away and I slept for 3 blissful hours. DH brought him back at 2 (poor DH looked like a zombie he is so exhausted :() and DS then slept for about another hour after being put in bed with me! Now doing first feed. Hoping for more sleep!

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 03:42

Feed #2
....and we made it to 3:30 which is a 3 hour feed! He did wake at 1.5 hours but he drifted back off again. Phew!

I thought dreaming got happened in the light sleep stage? If so, that would explain why co sleeping does produce weird dreams!

Aargghhh Gierg you’ve reminded me I need to change him! I always change him around the 3am feed (beforehand) so that he can settle again in the feed and sleep after. I forgot! If I don’t change him he will most certainly wet through. Quick change and back on the boob. Hope I haven’t woken him up too much.

Toonew my ds was fussing a lot today and I totally get the kicking thing. I just found it annoying as I don’t have a section scar for him to kick, must be bloody painful!
Frustrating doesn’t cover it either. We know they are hungry. Grrrr. Hope you’re getting some rest now.

Disaster night here. Tried putting him down at 10pm...took til 1.30am thanks to wind which appeared to result in a poonami all.over his sleeping bag.

Woke again at 3am. I'm knackered.

Infacol appears to have done nothing despite using for 3 days. Gripe is good but its only useful when hes already writhing. aargh

Efferlunt · 19/11/2017 04:00

Thank goodness DS seems to feed pretty well this time of the morning because my boobs have had a chance to refil. Eveings are a write off with a hungry boy who can’t extract enough to fall asleep.

GingerHanna · 19/11/2017 04:01

I just dropped my phone on DS’s head. I am a bad mama

GinUnicorn · 19/11/2017 04:10

Ginger Hanna I am sure we all will do similar. Tiredness makes you clumsy

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 04:17

Oh GingerHanna I’ve done that before. And my phone is a big one too.
I don’t need to be tired to do it either. The amount of times I’ve dropped it on my face when lying down in bed? Too many!

@Toonewtobehaving2 same thing here. I use the rugby ball position as ive got big boobs but all of sudden we can't get the latch right and my nipples have started hurting...he's got such a strong suction but quite often relatchingv means he nods off and is hard to wake for about 10 minutes.. I want to see if I can get to a breast feeding group on Monday. Several midwifes have watched me do it correctly but ds bobs his head around a lot ...

GingerHanna · 19/11/2017 04:25

Glad it’s not just me!

GingerHanna · 19/11/2017 04:26

@Gierg welcome to the group. Where abouts in Denmark are you? I’m in the Netherlands so same time zone.

HashtagTired · 19/11/2017 04:37

Night wees are so inconvenient. Not only do I have to get out of my warm snuggly bed, but I also risk waking up ds doing this. This duvet is a crinkly feather type one and makes way more noise than I actually thought it could. Then I have to tiptoe past dds open door. If I do this near to 6am, I risk her being awake and then getting out of bed thinking it’s a perfectly acceptable time to get up 🙄
Then I have to wee quietly. Dd has her bedroom night light off tonight and the only light is the bathroom one which we leave on for her. She freaks out in the dark so if I fully shut the door I risk her noticing and screaming the street awake*. Then there’s the wee itself. Why so noisy at night time?
First one up will flush. No night flushing unless it’s a poo. Toilet is right next door to dds room.
Wash hands, then tiptoe back to bed.

It’s a mission, but I think I just nailed it 🙌

*slight exaggeration, she may call me and tell me to open the door again but in doing so she would have woken herself up and possibly ds too, and then I’d have to convince her it wasn’t ‘wakey up time.’ And conversations at night time always seem louder thinking through in my head than IRL

Ginger I once dropped my kindle on DD's head! She was fine but I felt awful!

Wake up 2 here at 4am. So am hoping he will do a couple of hours after that and wake after 7 (by the time I've settled him).

So. Very. Tired.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 19/11/2017 04:48

Ha ha @hashtagtired! Similar dilemma here. Bathroom right next to DD's bedroom. Very thin walls. But I really need to go...

GimbleInTheWabe · 19/11/2017 05:01

@GingerHanna also dropped my phone on DS’s head yesterday. Annoyingly it happened because I was trying to shine the light on what I thought was a red mark on his head and ended up giving him a new red mark, felt really bad too!

1st feed for me now completed and sleepy DS is drifting off on my chest Smile so that was a good 5 hrs for us both- woohooo. Man these nights are so good when they come around.

I’m also using the wonder weeks app and book. I’m also still timing and logging all the feeds and changes I do, is there any point? Does anyone else do this? DS is def putting on weight and I’ve been lucky that bf hadn’t been too tricky for us but logging it all is like my little safety blanket.

Really want an espresso martini. Not right now or anything though come to think of it... so that’s my new mission to get out for dinner or lunch or something and have an espresso martini.

Jellybean2017 · 19/11/2017 05:02

Feed 2 and my eyes are glazing over...

GimbleInTheWabe · 19/11/2017 05:04

And I just need to vent about bloody laxatives for a min. The dr said I should take the isaphugla husk shite again to ease the tear in my bum and after 3 days of drinking the claggy grog and no poo for 36 hrs I just went in the middle of the night?! Hmm---- and it was just as painful as before and still bleeding. Why oh why. Meanwhile DS has def had some loose poos so I think he’s getting all the laxative effect even though it shouldn’t transfer through my milk.
Rant over.

Lallypopstick · 19/11/2017 05:15

I had a coughing fit and woke the baby up and I’ve never hated myself more.

Sakura03 · 19/11/2017 05:54

Ds has only done 2 lots of 45 minutes sleep.. when he nodded off at 9.20 pm I thought it was another short nap so let him sleep on me but after 2 hrs handed him to dh thinking now he'll definitely wake up but no no he then slept another 1 1/2 hours! I was so annoyed with myself for losing out on sleep. I so don't know my little boyGrin well i won't make that mistake again.
