I’m getting really fed up of my posts being deleted.

I say nothing inflammatory. No rascism, no sexism, no xenophobia. Because that is not me, I would never.

So why are my posts being deleted? I’m adding to the discussion. Sometimes I may question if a pp is being deliberately stupid… is that a legitimate reason to be deleted?

How thin skinned are we supposed to be to use this website? It’s becoming pointless even bothering to make a post.

I made a genuine post about about how knife crime is a serious problem within major cities. Low & behold, it’s been deleted. I made some genuine points in the post, ones that could lead to a positive discussion. I’m starting to give up on MN, no other website is policed to this extent.

I agree that hate crimes should be deleted. Of course. But I have done nothing of the sort.

I think that perhaps you youself should google to find out why calling someone "mental" isn't acceptable in 2025.

Educate yourself.

There's been a lot of helpful advice on this thread. Perhaps when you feel a bit less defensive it will be worth a re-read.

I have read a lot of rude and insulting posts directed at myself and others but I have never reported them. Someone did report one of my posts where I accused them of using AI & how cheesy & saccharine their post was 🤷🏻‍♀️

Op this is the problem. Not one person here has made any personal attacks on you. TBF i think they’ve been extremely nice considering how things can escalate. You’ve asked why and everyone who has commented apart from two have said it’s because of your language. Then you go off insulting people in the comments that prove their point. You have no self awareness and now are feeling sorry for yourself over a situation you have caused.

Unless you actually change your attitude then I don’t think things will improve for you as people do not want to hang around with a person who is thoughtless, nasty and rude.

I’ve been on MN for over 10 years now, and earlier this year had a spate of my posts being deleted.

I would say that MN posters have become thinner skinned than they were when I first joined (it was brutal) but also acknowledge that at the point my posts were deleted I was very pregnant and anxious due to health concerns, so was not my most measured self when posting.

It is baffling to me that you didn’t realise “are you stupid” was rude. At least own what you’re posting.

I think it’s hilarious that the OP thinks she ought to be allowed to say what she likes, insult people (as it’s how they speak in wherever from Ireland she’s from - although I’ve literally never encountered an Irish person who does this), call them stupid, mental and petty. That’s apparently all fine. To the extent that she was so indignant at having two comments deleted that she started a whole thread about this offence to her person.

However, posters who have a problem with this are mean and nasty. They’re not allowed to say what they like. That’s apparently a ‘pile-on’.
