iPad safari- MN not clickable

I don’t know if it’s my iPad but the last couple of days, MN just freezes on this. It comes up but then I can’t click on anything.

everything else is fine on the iPad. Wonder if anyone else is having this. Using the website not the app.

When you say 'freezes on this' do you mean you're unable to enter the site at all? How are you getting into the site, via google/newsletter link?

Could you let us know where it freezes and how many posts per page you're viewing?

I will go to Active - it seems to default to going there - and then nothing is clickable. Like the page is just stuck. It also takes a long time for the page to load.

so I’m not viewing any posts when it happens as the thread titles aren’t clickable because the whole thing is frozen.

it works fine from my phone, strangely.

Mine is the same this morning and intermittently over last few days. Very glitchy. Also iPad.

I go into Talk active threads using a bookmark.

Page takes ages to load, slow Safari progress bar when loading.

Sometimes can't scroll up/down list of threads.

Sometimes select a thread and nothing happens.

Other websites working fine.

I have noticed this in the last few days, sometimes it works (now) sometimes it freezes. If I close the tab and start again that usually clears it, but generally cba and go elsewhere,

This is exactly what’s happening to me too. I’m on my phone just now and everything is as normal so it’s definitely just on my iPad.

Happening to me as well on web pages. I've downloaded the app just to see if I could make a post regarding the same problem.

It can take two or three minutes to load a post. It's been getting slower and slower for a while.

My iPad has plenty of space etc, any other websites I use say bbc, etc all ok, shopping web sites M&S, John Lewis all fine. Apps like FB etc all fine.

Thought it was just me but obviously not

It's like the top banner advertisement take forever to load, then scrolling down is really shuddery and slow too, quite often got a stuck screen or a blank one

I had this yesterday on iPhone, using Safari. I had to close it entirely to get it to work again.

Same today. But intermittent.

I'm using Safari on an iPad and don't seem to be having any problems.

Thanks to everyone who's raised this. @SoupDragon are you using the app or the mobile site on your iPad? You seem to be the only one on the thread using Safari/iPad and not having any issues!

Desktop site.

Thinking about it, if a thread is large it does take a long time to load at the moment. The current Sewing Bee thread seemed to tip over into "large" at around 400 posts.

I don't seem to have a problem with things like "active" loading, just large threads.

I’ve been using safari for Mumsnet on my iPhone for years and the site has become virtually unusable. I downloaded the app, but couldn’t get on with it at all-I couldn’t work out how to edit posts?

Have got rid of safari and using chrome which seems to be ok but I don’t like it as much!

Same, Safari IOS 17.5.1. I haven’t had a problem in the last couple of days.

I have had this for a day or so, and I’ve improved it by deleting a load of cookies - I think Mumsnet is adding one (or more!) which slows everything down (and uses up the battery faster, too). It must be associated with particular pages, because the problem recurs from time to time, and when I go back to the cookies list, a lot of the ones I recognise deleting earlier have reappeared. So I delete a lot of them which I don’t recognise, and it puts it right again.

Also using the desktop site on Safari on iPad with the latest iOS installed.

I've switched to the app because I was getting ready to give up and delete my membership but I prefer the web layout to the app. The app is a lot quicker.

I've been having issues with MN on Safari for a while now - but I don't use my iPad, rather it's on my laptop. (MacBook)

Threads just stop loading part-way through, and then everything freezes.

I've started to use Chrome now, and am not having those issues.

(Incidentally, issues with bookmarking/thanks also on Safari and not on Chrome)
