Mumsnet thread pages keep refreshing page to be on homepage (shopping adverts)

Hello

When I’m on Mumsnet talk threads, the pages keep refreshing to be on the Mumsnet homepage (endlessly advertising me things to buy). The same goes for if I close my browser or go to a different window and then reopen - all Mumsnet pages seem to automatically refresh to the homepage / shopping adverts.

Not sure I’ve explained that very clearly…

Is anyone else having the same issue?

Hi OP

Are you possibly able to screen record this and send over to [email protected]m so we can take a look?

@LilyMumsnet thanks - have done so.

@CesareBorgia thank you. Good to have reassurance it isn’t a ‘just me’ issue!

I should add, it doesn’t happen every time, but it does happen the majority of the time, especially if I navigate away from that window for a few minutes or more. Which is annoying when I want to keep a thread open for reference (eg recipe threads).

Hi all

We're not currently able to replicate this.

Can we please ask you to clear your Mumsnet cache, and ask when this started happening? If anyone isn't on Safari, can you let us know what browser it is that you're using?

What does clear my Mumsnet cache mean?

it’s happening on safari.

It started with me yesterday. So frustrating. I usually have 2-5 Mumsnet tabs open but they all keep refreshing to the top of the homepage. Also using Safari, on iPhone.

Hi all - thanks for letting us know. We're still unable to recreate the issue so please bear with us while we figure out what is happening here. In the first instance, please clear your cache. If you need help with this, let us know. Also please tell us when it started happening along with your device and browser if you've not already told us.

Thank you.

Same here and came onto site stuff to see if others are having the same problem. I usually have a few threads open on tabs in the place I last left them so I can go back to easily later but then when I refresh the page it just reverts to the homepage.

It’s doing my head in (has been happening for the last couple of days but I couldn’t see anything in Site Stuff before so thought it was just me doing something stupid). I don’t think it was every time before but seems to be pretty much every time I leave a tab now.
This is the screenshot of what I get and this is the link of where it takes me:

I’m on an iPhone using Safari.
Please make it stop - it even did it to this thread when I went off to check my other tab to get the link…

We're really sorry about this. Can we just ask if you've cleared your Mumsnet cache?

I’ve cleared the cache on my browser if that’s the same thing? Still happening and driving me nuts!

Bargh this is happening to me and driving me mad! I rarely read a thread in one go - I nip off to check and email or Google something else, and then when I come back to the tab I go straight back to the homepage that @Sausagegoggles posted. Started maybe 3 days ago…

Makemydaypunk · 21/11/2023 19:25

Yes it’s still happening for me, it’s infuriating.

This is happening to me too, It’s infuriating. I’m looking at a Christmas ideas thread and every time I click off Mumsnet to check out a recommendation, I click back and the page has gone and the advertising Mumsnet page is there instead.

Report
Makemydaypunk · 23/11/2023 21:48

Why hasn’t this been resolved? @LilyMumsnet it’s still happening, I have a tab open, go back to it and it opens on the homepage, it’s been like it for days now.

Report
AngryBirdsNoMore · 23/11/2023 22:01

It is still happening and still annoying. It means I lose my place on the page too.

Is it to try to make me buy things from the adverts? Because it’s essentially made me never want to ever buy an Oodie or Eufy ever.
