Moderation Sex Board

onirgellep · 13/04/2023 23:06

Back in February Justine* committed to an urgent review of moderation of the Sex Board subsequent to the considerable concerns mainly arising from the longstanding Sex Chat thread

Unsurprisingly, issues continue

Would it be possible to have an update on the progress of the review?

And hear when do you anticipate it being completed and the new moderation put into action?

Thank you

I'm afraid I'm unable to link Justine's post on the thread References to Underage Sex on the Sex Board* page 13

You are laughing.

I'm not seeing what's funny?

BillyNighysWife · 14/04/2023 08:43

@HornyBee

Why choose to ‘get the facts straight’ about exactly which nasty sexual activity it is? It’s such an odd way to respond.

It’s really clear that there are some really unacceptable posts on MN. The usual moderation policy isn’t working. What are MN going to do about it.

That is what the OP is asking. Any other responses are gaslighting obfuscation, possibly deliberate.

Well it's certainly not a website about teen sex and incest that's for sure. Thanks for your apology.

horridjobescapee · 14/04/2023 08:45

You literally put laughing emojis.

I don't know what you want me to apologise for.

HornyBee · 14/04/2023 08:45

The usual moderation policy isn’t working
In what way? Someone mentioned a NSFW website and it got deleted.
What more needs to be done?

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:08

HornyBee · 14/04/2023 08:37

OK, who was defending the website then? I haven't seen anyone defending it.

Lots of you were defending it yesterday so don't be disingenuous.

Wtf are you talking about?
I did not see ANYBODY defend that website.
Even the poster did not defend it once she realised some of the content.

Brilop · 14/04/2023 09:16

I didn't even know that there was a sex board!

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:19

I think that any website which hosts chat rooms where perves discuss incest and underage sex ought to be reported to the police.

I am also staggered that anyone on MN, which is a parenting site where women come for advice about violence and abuse, saw fit, yesterday, to defend such a site.

And HornyBee knows what I mean because s/he was on the deleted thread yesterday - a thread which was discussing the setting up of yet another thread on the sex board where sex chat was encouraged and hook-ups sought.
MNHQ have already been clear that they do not want to host sex chats any more, although why they hosted them in the first place is a mystery.

Of course it can't be 'backed up' - because it's all been deleted! As you well know

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:35

We all know that the threads referred to in my previous post have both been deleted.
The first one which was deleted was started by Mermaid on the sex board, entitled Sex Chat, and not only provided a link to the website where incest and underage sex was celebrated, but also encouraged perves to solicit PMs.
That thread was deleted very quickly.
The second thread was on Site Stuff and it discussed the first thread, and MNHQ deleted it yesterday evening.
HornyBee is well aware of this. HornyBee is also well aware that both threads were deleted, as s/he was on the second one.

Are you supporting @TheShellBeach statement? You are happy to put your name to that statement?
If you remember people defending the website you should be able to provide the basic details of what was said.

LotsOfBalloons · 14/04/2023 09:39

HornyBee I'm just curious. What's your motivation here? What is it you'd like the sex boards to be like/what is it you're fearful of losing?

No I'm not going to engage with you or @TheShellBeach on this

But why ask for 'evidence' when you know it's all been deleted? it's just provocative

Expect this thread won't last the day either

OP posts:

FACTS
Mermaid posted about a website with a pm/chat feature where people could go to chat.
It later came to light that the website contained stories about teen sex and incest.
On hearing this, mermaid reported herself to mn and said she was going to explain what had happened.

Where in all of that was ANYBODY defending that website?

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:45

Probably not.

zampheta · 14/04/2023 09:49

Incest is illegal. Are stories about incest illegal?

No, Flowers in the Attic (and others, running theme of incest) was an international bestseller, but I'm guessing on a sex site the stories will be rather different to something suitable for the general mass market.

No you can't - because it's all been deleted

Why can't you discuss moderation on the sex board in general terms rather than derailing into personalised stuff which will lead to this being deleted too?

It's a sex site with chat rooms, so I dread to think what they say to each other about teen sex and incest.

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:53

Agreed. That was what the OP was about - not the many deleted threads about the sex chat hook-ups thread(s).

This is a good question that @HornyBee needs to answer. I think we can all guess what’s happening though.

I can't back it up but anyone on the thread knows that's what happened.
Tell me something someone said in defence of the website. Anyone on the thread will know if it's true or not.

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:57

On the subject of moderation again, I would like to know how MNHQ feels about the measures loosely put in place much earlier in this debacle.
Are they working?
Are safeguarding policies still under review?
What is the response to posters who continue to start threads which are clearly designed to assist people who want sex chats and hook-ups online?
MN is a parenting site where abused women come for advice about their cheating husbands and partners FFS.

TheShellBeach · 14/04/2023 09:58

Anyone on the thread will know if it's true or not

That's true, so there is no need to post screenshots of a deleted thread.
