Why is Sex topic now in Active?

It never used to be there before. It doesn't really seem appropriate with some of the titles.

The men on the 'ooh poor men, being made to feel so unwelcome on the MN sex board' thread need to get a grip. MN could have been one place on the internet not geared towards men posting their masturbatory fantasies (I know you can never totally guarantee they won't, but you can take steps to guard against it), but no, that wouldn't be fair on the poor horny bastards.

Fivetoomany · 16/02/2023 19:32

@CountryMusicHottie again so hostile. Your argument is with Mumsnet. I also don't want it in active because of these horrible threads. You can't just keep calling every man on here Pervy. None of these men have called you names, in fact I think they have been very restrained considering what is been said about them. You do not own Mumsnet. It is open for all.
You few people threatening to leave and cancel subs, Mumsnet don't give a shit. Your a tiny minority. But name calling and general nastiness is just uncalled for and childish.

I can call them pervy when I’ve had to twice delete my account due to the pervy messages sent by the pervy men. So yeah, pervs!

Hopefully!!🤞 can have a nice chat about how to make me squirt 😍😍😍

That’s probably bladder weakness hun. See your GP.

Earlier in this thread a woman was shamed for her thread on the sex board asking for advice.

That's why it feels more unsafe

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2023 20:05

I don't understand why men would feel unsafe on a Talk Forum on Mumsnet. What do they think will happen to them? 🤔

Fivetoomany · 16/02/2023 20:07

@Surplus2requirements I'm leaving them to it. You can't have a reasonable conversation with them. It's just name calling and who can shout the loudest. I'd rather chat with them horrible 'pervs' all night than spend anymore time time here.
You can't reason with idiots.

What's that quote. "Men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them."

My only dodgy DMs were a bloke trying to score a date off the feminism board. Thought he'd pretended to be OK long enough to receive his prize for being a Nice Guy.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/02/2023 20:18

OK MN

The deletions mean you are modding this thread. Can we have a better answer? One that isn't a little bit patronising and quite a lot insulting?

juliettesmother · 16/02/2023 20:20

Surplus2requirements · 16/02/2023 19:54

@juliettesmother that's interesting, do you report them? If you do, do they get booted? I'd hope so.

Sex being on active does seem to be an issue for many but yes, I agree the delay after registration should be much longer to discourage sleazy chancers

I didn't think to report them in all honesty. I shall from now on.

I am a long term poster (I think 15 years?) and a regular (name changer so sometimes I get several messages at once from men who have just trawled the sex threads and messaged anyone who has commented...

CountryMusicHottie · 16/02/2023 20:21

Have they actually deleted someone for asking if we have a flouncer? That is ridiculous. Remember when they deleted someone for posting the biscuit emoji? Literally just the emoji. 😂

MartiniFlan · 16/02/2023 20:22

Also the insinuation that any woman who doesn't like the sex board or want to see threads populated by kinkydave567 looking for like-minded ladies is a prude is mind-boggling. It's like assuming someone is a vegetarian because they don't like billy bear ham.

Yes. That's all I asked. Maybe it means something else over there. Grin

Getir · 16/02/2023 20:29

Flouncer (just testing)

Surplus2requirements · 16/02/2023 20:29

Well it seems the vast majority want sex threads off of active and the posting delay increased, for different reasons maybe but I don't understand the reasons for nastiness.

Maybe HQ will act and we'll all be a little happier

Maybe you could claim you were flouncing round the bedroom, then MN would let it stand Wink

Omg @Getir stop picking on the poor men BiscuitGrin

Ignorant way to run, isn't it?
