Royal section full of hatred

@MNHQ - almost the entire Royal section is becoming the equivalent of the Daily Mail comments section with so much bile and hate for M&H. I found the thread about her wedding dress particularly vindicative and nasty to read.

I'm all for free speech, but where does the line become crossed into targeted attack / hate? I think we're getting pretty close to be honest.

Yes I know I can hide the section - but that misses the point - the frenzy is still going on there. How can we (you, @MNHQ) work to tone down the temperature?

By all means state your 'opinions' if you must. But you can't then object to others challenging them, can you?
But you can object to others challenging Harry's statements?

I've only got the one account. I couldn't think of a username. I'm not aware of my posts being considered bullying either. If you have concerns please do report to MNHQ.

Yes, I believe in calling out bad behaviour. Every time social abuse hits the headlines - from gamergate onwards - the same lines get rolled out. 'What do you care? She's a liar. She's a user. This is accountability. This is free speech. This is my fun and they deserve it.'

If you can't see a way to be better than that, I'm sad for you. But I have children, and I will not accept that this is acceptable public discourse.

I think I'm going to step away. I found the memes thread funny, as a bit of light relief and a welcome distraction from my mum's death. I'm quite upset to learn that apparently my username and posting on the RF threads means that other people think I'm a bully. I don't think MN is the place for me.

Points about topics can be made without resorting to any of the above. I have seen many threads deleted for much less or for not being "in the spirit of the site". Clearly MM has a blind spot about Harry and Meghan, I wonder why?

OP I agree that the venom and vitriol on many of the royal threads is disturbing. It's hard to believe that the people speaking that way are probably middle aged women with kids. I've only ever seen/heard language like that from nasty, judgemental kids/teenagers or possibly conspiracy theorists.
