Pages taking an age to load - anyone else?

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 05/06/2022 12:30

Is anyone else finding that some pages are taking an age to load? And a message keeps appearing, something like "page taking ages, do you want to wait?"

It's only happening with mumsnet, no other sites.

So fed up of this happening every night at the one time I want to browse MN for fun. Browser error, pages taking ages to load. I don’t know any other site that has these issues so regularly, bonkers.

CambsAlways · 13/06/2022 22:47

Yes don’t like this new format either

mmmmmmghturep · 13/06/2022 22:47

Check your headers along the top The site is coming up as not secure for me.

After the toxic weight thread on the Relationships board plus this just junk the whole site

littlbrowndog · 13/06/2022 22:48

Yep it’s crap. Like so slow. What’s the point when you want to reply on a thread

Lolabalola · 13/06/2022 22:49

Just came on to find this thread, see if others having issues
last few nights app has been unusable , had switched as dislike new site so much.
main site pages taking ages to load as well, it’s just unusable.
mumsnet why have you broken something that was perfectly functional before? I’d be looking for my money back from the developers, it absolutely is not fit for purpose.
very sad .

I just timed how long it took for this thread to load after I clicked on it. 28 seconds. I'm now going to time how long it takes to load this message after I click post.

stripesorspotsorwhat · 13/06/2022 22:53

23 seconds to load my post above.

Any slower and it will be going backwards. I'm losing the will to live.

EatSleepReplete · 13/06/2022 23:00

I've barely been able to get on at all for the last 3 hours. Every time I did I got this error message, which always timed oit & I then got the one that @Vapeyvapevape posted at 22:43. I assumed it was a DDOS attack or something to be so completely unavailable for so long?

And typing is doing that weird thing again where it doesn't show the words at the same speed I'm typing, then it catches up all at once, & sometimes it randomly repeats part of a word so it just ends up with complete gibberish words mixed in. And I can't edit it because it's slow & buggy & if I press to delete a letter on one line the cursor is often on a different line & I end up deleting something I actually wanted to keep.

I hopenyou have got your money back from whoever did the site rebuild. Absolutely appalling, I'm spending a lot less time on here because it's just not worth it TBH.

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, running the default browser BTW. And yes I've cleared my cookies recently. It doesn't help. Every other site is fine though.

mmmmmmghturep · 13/06/2022 23:02

I just got a massive black arrow pointing to the right,

wwyd2021medicine · 13/06/2022 23:06

Not loading on app here either

WaffleAndGelato · 13/06/2022 23:17

Same issues here. App totally out of action, says maybe I’ve got no internet connection. And the main site is painfully slow. Every other site works fine so 100% not internet issues, purely Mumsnet site is shite issues sadly

onlythreenow · 13/06/2022 23:23

I've been blaming my laptop, so it's good to hear that it isn't that. Since the last upgrade things just keep going downhill.

Blimeyherewegoagain · 13/06/2022 23:33

The site is not secure- no little padlock next to web address. What a nightmare. 🙄🙄🙄

Blimeyherewegoagain · 13/06/2022 23:35

I stand corrected- it’s coming and going, maybe because the page keeps reloading.

JaneJeffer · 13/06/2022 23:38

I've got the padlock!

sittingnexttochoppysea · 13/06/2022 23:40

I've had couple of hours of app not working again tonight. Getting a bit too regular. Apparently yesterday was a server issue. Sort it out MN.

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/06/2022 23:40

I'm having issues @MNHQ!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/06/2022 23:43

23.41 problems seemed to be solved

I can post quickly

i can click and read a thread easily

no gateway or server messages anymore

fingers crossed stays like this

Doubtful, it's like at times the servers get real busy and the site slows, then other times it's quite quick.

Igotjelly · 14/06/2022 07:11

@MNHQ lost in action somewhere.

CambsAlways · 14/06/2022 08:21

I had the same thing mrs Auker

I’ve found this too, also usually autocorrect doesn’t work. Plus if you want to use the MN emoji it takes ages to load. It’s ridiculous. @LilyMumsnet

StopDrivingIntoMyFence · 14/06/2022 12:51

I just got this error while right clicking this tab on Firefox and selecting "Reload Tab" Since when was refreshing a page not allowed?

Pages taking an age to load - anyone else?
SilverDragonfly1 · 14/06/2022 14:38

If I have a couple of tabs open, click away from and then back to the mumsnet tab, it shows a blank screen that times out if refreshed.

Also scrolling threads over about 200 posts is impossible- it just refuses to respond.

Vapeyvapevape · 14/06/2022 19:19

Let's see if it's any better tonight
