Pages taking an age to load - anyone else?

Is anyone else finding that some pages are taking an age to load? And a message keeps appearing, something like "page taking ages, do you want to wait?"

It's only happening with mumsnet, no other sites.

It's incredibly slow tonight.

Dial-up was faster than this.

It's truly awful.

Also having issues with the site tonight. Have clicked to page 5 of this thread but could make a cuppa in the time its taking to load.

wouldn’t load for me and just now when it did I got something like ‘checking your browser before loading Mumsnet’ that someone unthread had. Does that mean my security has been compromised? Not very tech savvy I am afraid.

Same here. It's been slow for a week or so but worse tonight.

Not had any messages, but tonight has been awful.

It's been painfully slow for me for the past few days. I'm quite close to deleting my account and pondering how I'll spend my extra hour+ a day I'll gain by not compulsively reading mumsnet.

If I leave an MN tab open, it freezes my laptop. This has been going on at least a couple of weeks - I changed mice, restored my pc, tried other fixes before I figured out it was Mumsnet and nothing else that was causing it.

After being here about 15 years, I've finally broken the MN habit. Just log in a couple of times a day now and close tabs quickly.

I absolutely agree with pp. This site is honestly SO shitty, I genuinely don't know why I keep coming back. It's just excuse after excuse, nothing ever gets fixed. It's just not worth it anymore, I'd rather read a book.

Firefox may work better (it did in one test).

In Chrome a mumsnet tab left idle seems to grow in size abruptly to use several gigabyte of ram

Pretty darn slow tonight, yes.

App not loading at all tonight

Chrome, Android phone - it's been super slow to load for weeks, and it reallllly struggles with getting down to a bookmarked post. It's eating phone battery. It's especially bad when there are lots of posts - I've set it to display all posts on 1 page, so maybe that's the problem? Still, didn't have this issue before.

Had problems this evening, pages taking ages, cloudfare message etc, suddenly seems to have sorted itself out - at least for now anyway!

Got a cloud flare/ddos message just now and everything is SO SLOW. Been shite every since the update a few weeks ago. Honestly, unusable in my phone and I've no other devices
