The new platform is really not working well - you only have to look at the list of complaints on Site Stuff

... many (most?) of which are not being addressed by MNHQ.

Come on! It's been some time now since you launched the new platform, and while a smooth transition is probably too much to expect, very little seems to be improving since the launch.

WTAF is going on? When can we expect all the things you're promising to actually happen?

Well, I noticed today that the annoying grey blank chunky bar labelled 'Advertisement' is no longer dominating the top of my mobile screen. I'm pleased about that.

That’s what happens when you get your mate in to do your IT on the cheap. Other forums don’t seem to have these issues, so I spend more time on those instead now.

The only problem I have is that the threads refresh every time that you go back to the main list of threads which means you end up losing ones you have seen before.

Hi @BIWI sorry for delay - let me try and cover the biggest outstanding issues as best I can at the moment:

• formatting issues in the app - we are releasing an update to the app - hopefully today - we are just awaiting approval from Apple


• images posting sideways - fix should be released in next day or so


• hitting back from Active not refreshing the page - should be released today


• improvements to Search - eg date filter - should be released in the next day or so


• Advanced Search - likely to be back sometime next week, fingers crossed

Click on ‘Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’

Macs
Open your Safari preferences
Click ‘Privacy’
Click ‘Manage Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Click on ‘Mumsnet.com’ and choose ‘Remove’
Click ‘Done'

I can still not post any replies to threads on safari, If this is happening to me, im sure there will be others with the same issues. @BIWI reported this for me weeks ago, yet I have heard nothing back.

It is frequently taking many multiples of attempts to get bookmarks to register or to open images.

Opening or refreshing threads already bookmarked frequently land on random posts nowhere near the bookmark.

And then it takes forever to locate the bookmarked post as it is no longer shaded like it was before.

Long threads load very slowly (which is why it was better before where you could choose to load 25 posts a page as standard and then switch to 'show all' from the thread).

Is there a fix for the random refreshing of the page while you’re reading it?

I'm finding the iPhone app really frustrating

Messages are not displayed in full, they cut off mid sentence and in some cases mid word

On the phone and through Chrome on the PC the no paragraphs makes reading any long post almost impossible

And the lee being no break after a quoted message is a really struggle visually

Ok so another update:

1 - hitting back from Active NOT refreshing the page has been released this afternoon so it should now work as it used to

2 - the issue on bookmarks - I think these are currently only not working when. you refresh a page - that's because the URL you are refreshing holds the info about where your original bookmark was - so when you refresh you're telling the browser to go back to that post even when you've bookmarked later on. If you go out of the thread and back in via a link in "Threads I'm on" or "Threads I'm watching" it will find your new bookmark - it's just refresh that won't. Currently trying to figure out if there's anything clever we can do about that without it affecting other things like @mention notifications taking you to the right place on a thread...

3 - We're still awaiting approval from Apple on the app issues - as soon as we have that we'll post and sticky a thread in Site Stuff so people know to update.

Just tried to get on the Brexit thread. It takes ages to load. Still. Takes you to the bit you were reading several sessions ago not the bookmark.(took two and a half minutes to find my place)

Had the black 502 error box appear three or four times. It's difficult to get rid of it.

Bookmarks are still slow to register.

Picture won't open for ages then when it does it won't close. When it closed I was taken to some random part of the thread.

Are any of these problems going to be fixed any time soon?

No one is going to want to go to threads I'm on and back to the thread evey time when it takes so bloody long to load each step.

hi @BlackeyedSusan sorry you're having these issues, it must be incredibly annoying - this isn't happening for everyone so it'd be really helpful to know what device you're using (desktop or mobile) and whether you're using the app or the site and what browser (safari or chrome).

Could you also look at fixing the size of the text in images? Font size 4 is not much use to me, and not a great deal larger than what appears before I click, though it seems to be less blurred. Not being able to look at people's quoted-from-Twitter points is very irritating and makes some current-news threads incomprehensible in large part.

I am using Mozilla Firefox on a large desktop machine.

There is yet to be any update at all on progress against the accessibility issues reported.

Just a list of visual areas being looked at for "enhancements" where "enhancement" seems to equate to making things at least no worse than previously.

Other accessibility areas have not even had a mention.

Worst on long threads, no pages. (Continuous)

And it's the long threads you want to dip in or out of and refresh etc

I'm still having the issue of pm's showing as a notification, when there isn't one.

What about the messages under quoted posts being cut short that is really annoying.

Just an update here - we're waiting for Apple to approve a fix and then it will be released. Shouldn't be too long now - sorry for the inconvenience.

What about the new PMs that I can't see to read in my inbox but still have notifications for@SueMumsnet

Are we getting the Go to Page button back? The long threads are so much harder to use without it.

Is there a reason no one is being updated on these issues in the other thread that Mumsnet Mods started?

Also @SueMumsnet re the PMs, at one point I had a few in my inbox but the bottom of the page was being cut off making it hard to see if I'd scrolled all the way down. To help myself I archived a few PMs, maybe that's something to do with it? Maybe some of the users who's PMs I'd archived were still messaging me... I don't know coz I can't see them lol.
